I have been in Milan four times and I would recommend this hotel for travellers who do not want to spend a great deal of money for a clean, quite spacious hotel, and most importantly a five minute walk from the metro Loretto. Loretto station is only two stops from the Stagione Centrale which is connected to the airport by bus. It is also five stops from Duomo. The hotel stuff was very polite, willing to satisfy all of our requests. They even ordered for us a take away pizza. I would stay there again next time I am in Milan. Corso buenos aires is a five minute walk from the hotel for those interested in shopping. I would not recommend eating around the hotel area. There is however- in a small street, Via Radegonda very close to Duomo- a really cosy trattotia called "Di Gennarro" with tasty Italian cuisine at quite reasonable prices (15-20 euros) per person if you do not drink much. If I were you I would not also miss a delicious ice-cream from the gelatteria-choclatteria next door!!!

Was at the hotel in January. The room was very cold. Air conditioning for the night off. A 3 * hotel is clearly not pulling, 2.5 is the maximum. No children's chairs. Location - good. Negative only in the area are not many restaurants. The rooms are small. Staff pleasant and polite. Parking in the yard there.

Breakfast was excellent, service was really good. I needed assistance and reception was really helpful. The single room is a bit small, but it is OK if you only spend 1 night in it.

Location was great, we were only in Milan for 1 night but it was nice to be close to public transport nodes for easy access around the city. The staff were friendly and helpful and would totally recommend to other travellers.

Very good hotel to use as a base for Milan. We used it for F1 GP at Monza and found Metro excellent and easy to use. Bit of a walk to the fashion centres Milan offers [not that I was there for that]. Staff were very good and helped were they could. Get a good street map as Milan is not laid out in a logical order.

Nice hotel, central location, good price for the room but a bit expensive for car parking (15 eur/day). Internet was free but it was provided on the base of 30 min tickets. We need to ask for such tickets quite often, which was a bit unconvenient. Staff was serviable, good breakfast but not very diversified (same food every day). Hotel is very close to public transportation (tram, metro, etc) and to shopping area of Milan.

This hotel is clean, spacious, well furnished and has very good pricing. The location is good (between Loreto and Citta Studi). It is on a quiet square. The closest Subway station is some 7 minutes on foot, but the circular lines are only 3 minutes away. Service is 24 hours. The breakfast was rich and good, up to Italian standards. Internet is available, but paid an astounding EUR 3 per-hour! When I gave the feedback "I never had to pay Internet per-hour in a hotel in the last 3 years" they justified "this is also what you do in Fairs and other events". (The value of feedback is generally not yet as treasured in Italy as it is in the US).

We were staying for 3 nights and found the Birrificio Lambrate on via Adelchi on the 2nd.(It's only a ten minute walk away) As fans of real ale we went back there on the 3rd night! - the beer and atmosphere were great. Didn't sample the food but the "stinko" looked good.

Perfect location less than 5 minutes away from Loreto metro station and with a bus stop just across the street. The room was quite small but the furniture was new and modern and the price was very convenient.

Nice hotel near the metro (Loreto station). Good breakfast, kind welcoming. My room was clean, the bathroom was spacious. I've never heard any noise of traffic but only the voices of the neighbours (not educated people). Good location even for a single traveller woman.

A perfecly adequate budget hotel. Bedrooms were clean and quiet but the bathroom was a bit jaded. Shower door was difficult to close and could have been cleaner. Breakfast was disappointing so only ate on one morning. Got some really good recommendations fpr places to eat close to the hotel. Staff spoke good English and were pleasant and friendly.

1) Good location. However, instructions to hotel from subway station on hotel website don't really help. 2) Great buffet breakfast. During our one week-stay, one female staff in the cafe(the tall one) was rude and cranky while another (the petite one) was very friendly and professional. 3) Most of the receptionists were pleasant enough but weren't helpful in giving guests info. On one occasion, we were told "every train station here has lockers", which is far from true. We found it out the hard way at Cardona station on our last day in Milan.

The staff at the Hotel Florence is excellent, and makes the foreign visitor feel at home. The front desk people speak good English, and accomodate reasonable requests and give good advice on navigating Milan, which is a formidable city. The hotel offers and excellent value, with good room size for the reasonable price. The location is convenient to trams and metro, and a short walk to the shopping on Buenos Aires, yet in a primarily residential area away from the worst traffic noise. This was our fourth stay at the Hotel Florence over the last 5 years, and they have improved to give a pleasant experience and good value. We will stay there again when we return in the fall.

Oldfashioned hotel, large and pretty clean rooms, surroundings are not nice but if you are a business traveller is ok, normally a very good price, but really unbelievable the difference during the FIERA days, almost three times the normal one!!! Absolutely not justified

We were very well welcome in the hotel. It's a quite place not too far from the city center. The room was clean, and spacious. The receptionists were attentious and gave us good tips of restaurants and maps.

Very warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere. The location could hardly be better - just a stone's throw from the Duomo. The old downsides for me are that our room (at the front of the building) was over a VERY noisy street, and the breakfast was really basic and not fresh. Mind you it is a friendly B&B, very central and relatively cheap for Florence. Go for one of the quieter rooms off the street and this place is a great find.

A really good quality/price relationship. The room was spacious and clean with a small terrace. The breakfast was an extended continental, perfectly ok. The friendly staff guided me to a wonderful local osteria Nuovo Convento on almost next street, Via Ricordi. I definetely recommend this family hotel. The stairs might be difficult for elderly people and the lights in the corridor do not function well.

The hotel is great. It is about three blocks from the underground metro, and has a tram stop right out side. It was very easy to get around with a little walking, even with two small children. The rooms were nice sized with a very nice bathroom. We have stayed in Milan before at anouther hotel of comparable rates, but Hotel Florence was much nicer with bigger rooms, and bathroom. The neighborhood is not the best, but we never felt un-safe even when returning to the room late. There was some graffitie on the hotel ,but it was all over the city as well. We even parked our car on the street as the hotel parking lot was full. We had no problems. There were some "working girls" in the neighborhood, but like I said before we never felt un-safe. For the money consious traveler, who doesn't mind some walking, this place is a steal. This is where we will stay every time we visit Milan. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakast offered for free was great.

Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff excellent, very friendly and helpful. Criticisms? Hotel bar was never open. No tea/cofee making facility in rooms. No mini-bar/fridge in room. Public park opposite hotel was very noisy during the night with dogs barking, etc.
