It was my third stay in Milan and the first stay in the Hotel Demidoff. In advance I asked for a quiet room but I got a room facing the Main Road - it was very noisy even with the window closed (and the hotel was fully booked). Breakfast was rather poor even for a town hotel.

The hotel was nice for the price I payed. What surprise me was that for the 5 days I stayed in the hotel, my room was cleaned only once. Just the day before I left. However, the hotel is 20-30 meters away from the Buenos Ares blvd, and about 15-20 min walk from the Duomo. It was about 10 min walk away from the Central Station. Overall I am quite pleased with the the service I have been provided during my stay.

First time in Italy and Milan. Booked as non refundable for 63€ single room. +: very good value for money if you consider city, area and service. Close to metro only 3 stations from city center(cathedral). clean comfortable room and bathroom. very helpful and friendly service in english. -: bring your earplugs if you want to get a good night's sleep!! you can hear the neighbour taking a shower. The street in front (via plinio) is a busy road; my room was on that side. TV had only 1 english channel: CNN and quality was bad. This hotel exceeded my expectations regarding the area, the service and confort of the room. But then I don't have any reference in Italy. Will certanly come back here next time I visit Milan.

Hotel was clean, and in a good location. Also covenient for central Milan and the train station. The price was ok (for Milan), although we paid 10euro more for a Tuesday night than for Monday night - strange! Breakfast was TERRIBLE, and the worst aspect of this hotel by FAR! Almost no food provided on a "buffet". Low quality breakfast cereal provided but then no milk. We had to ask 2 breakfast staff for each itam, such as milk, coffee, or even a teaspoon! It was ridiculous! Several guests got very angry with the chaos and some left with nothing! This situation was really not necessary for a very low grade breakfast, and was extra stress!

I will not recommend this hotel. If you ever come to Asia you’ll know what service means. The reception call you madame but rude in heart. We found our electic-water heater went missing while we were out. Not until we thought to report to police, the recepetion said they took it away because these are not allow to use in hotel by law. This is ok if you tell me or leave us a note. Since this is our stuff inside the room and we are not using it, you can’t just simply took it away? We can really call the police! When I ask him why he didn’t tell us this when we came back and ask for key. Instead of saying I am sorry but I am on the phone. He said: “Madame, when I gave you the key, I am on the phone, I am not a machine!” Honestly I rather talk to a machine! I travel all over the world & knew Europe hotel never gets what u pay for, but this is unacceptable! And I do have great hotel experience outside Milan. Milanese pls do something.

Hotel is good enough, the price was low. One complaint: at the reception, they stated that "people who reserved through Internet must pay in advance"... We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our accommodation. We were a family of 4 and were given a 1 bedroom very spacious and light apartment (without kitchen). I don't know if this is usual for a quad booking. Staff were helpful and breakfast coffee was the best we had on our trip in Italy. Location was great close to both the underground train line and the central station - we walked the 3 or 4 blocks from the central train station (having caught the airport shuttle from the airport) pulling our cases on their wheels without too much bother at all. Night staff were especially helpful.

When we first check in, we had paid 90 Euros cash to the person at the reception. Next day very early in the morning we check out, we got our invoice from another person. While we were waiting the taxi, this person came and told that he could not find the slip of the credit card and askes us whether we paid or not. I said "yes, in cash". Then he went in hotel and came again after few minutes. He asked rudely whether we have any proof that we had paid in cash. I said Mr.Angelo who was at the reception when we checked in did not give anything. I told him to call from his mobile and ask whether the payment is done or not. His approach to a guest was very impolite and blaming. Every hotel has its' own procedures. The procedure was to charge the payment when check in. This person has to know that. I feel so much indisposed to be the object of a matter like this. On the other hand, the rooms are old fashioned. The only good thing about the hotel is it is very close to LIMA metro station. But it never worth 90 Euros for a night. I do not suggest to the people who would like to see a typical Italian hospitality.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! Map is way off - and this isn't the first reviewer to tell Venere to fix it. Although we confirmed our late-night arrival they didn't have a room for us. They arranged for a room at another hotel AND to pay for the cab, but the cab driver (supposedly a friend of the night clerk) grabbed the voucher out of my hand THREATENED OUR LIVES and demanded payment - 11 Euro to travel 4 blocks. Obviously a scam between the hotel and the taxi driver.

For a hotel in Milan its ok value for money. It a good 20-30min walk into the centre but the hotel is right by the underground station. The rooms a average size and a bit dated but the bathroom was clean and nice although a shower cutain would have helped prevent getting water on the floor. The building is surrounded by streets on all sides so it is quite noisy but not enough to keep you awake with the windows closed. Breakfast was a good standard miny buffet with free cappucino/coffee. Staff were warm and welcoming and useful for directions, with good english.

Really a bargain: my single room was a bit small and the general atmosphere was somewhat confused. However, the cleanliness is absolute, the staff is welcoming and competent, the location is perfect (not far from the train station, just above a metro station, and in the core of an important commercial area). Thus, 55€ pro night is just the right price. Only two remarks: you are required to pay the full price at the check-in; this is not a problem, but should be declared in the web page. Secondly, the map is simply mistaken, and the mistake seems to be a bit fraudolent. The aim is quite transparent: the location of the hotel is really central, really easy to be reached (by foot or by metro), but, according to the distinctions of areas determined by venere.com, this hitel should not be in "city center" or in "railway station", but in "città studi". Thus, they have put in the site a map with a mistaken location, so that it is listed among hotels in a central area. Anyway, you need only to know this detail: the hotel is REALLY in a central area, but this area is not labelled as central by venere.com and is not the location marked in the map. Just use another web site with maps to locate Via Plinio :)

The room we were given at the Demidoff (Room 401) was clearly only a single room into which had been put a second single bed. Whilst the bed was ok, it was a folding one - not the sort of standard you would expect from a 3 star hotel. There was barely enough room to walk between the foot of one bed and the other. It had been set up so that the head of one bed was under the television, the fridge was inaccessible (because the bed was jammed in front of it), and there was only one chair. Very disappointing.

demidoff was a pretty nice hotel considering the price. we paid 80 euros for 1 night in november. though the man working there wasnt outrageously friendly, he did help us get a train schedule & was completely fine. the room was clean, the bathroom was pretty spactious though there was no shower curtain and kind of impossible to not get the entire bathroom soaked while showering!! breakfast was standard continental...but being that, it was a nice spread of breads, cereals, pastries, juices & cappuccino. my only gripe was that boyfriend and i arrived in milan late at night and had trouble finding the hotel with the map that venere provided. b/c we came straight from the airport and then took the subway...we got off at the stop that LOOKED like the closest one on the map...we were off by 2 stops. get a good map before you arrive!

The welcoming was not as warm as other cities we visited. The front desk clerk seemed overwhelmmed. The bathroom had a nice whirlpool tub, but it did not work. There wasn't a shower curtain, so there was water everywhere when you showered. The rest was allright. The location was magnificent: One block off the subway and to Via Buenos Aires, which offered at least 6 blocks on the left and right of Via Plinio of GOOD-PRICES shopping and eating( we felt we were in NYC).

My boyfriend and I were very impressed with the Demidoff, its staff, and our room. We arrived very late in the evening, and the concierge found a superb restaurant for us that was still open and made our reservations. The Demidoff scores very highly for the service and room for the price.

The accomodations were very small and cramped. The bathroom had a tub/shower combination but no shower door nor curtain, which made showering impossible without drenching the bathroom in the process. The bathtub would not properly fill on its own as the water spout sent the spray up against the opposite wall, splashing so badly that it flooded the walls and the floor. In order to bathe, we had to hold our hand over the water spout for 20 minutes while the tub filled up in order to avoid the flooding. I would not recommend this hotel as Milan is a large area and there are several other properties which would no doubt be more comfortable (and drier!!).

This is really a very comfortable business hotel where I was lucky to stay very cheaply at the weekend. Considering that the room was surrounded by the street on all three sides (the building is wedge-shaped), the windows did an excellent job of keeping out the traffic noise. The porters were decent enough for Milan, and you can come back as late as you like. The breakfast was pretty feeble, which if you are staying for 100 euros during the week must be a bit annoying! But my real complaint would be that it is not in the centre of Milan as wrongly indicated on the map, rather between the station and the university, which is fine, but a decent walk from the centre, where I thought I would be. Despite this I can recommend Demidoff pretty highly, it is a classy hotel and the interior and the rooms are very nice.

We had to have a sort trip to Milano inorder to get informations about our dauther's univercity studies. Our needs from an accommondation were simlpe but specific, because we had to find a hotel near Conservatorio "G.Verdi", which might offert a clean room, in a good price, available the proper time, with polite employees and good service. At "Demidoff", we've find all above because of Venere.com so specific and professional informations. An excellent correspondence between virtual and reality. Demidoff will be our station at our second trip next September. Our copliments to Angelo and Carlo, the two young receptionists they helped us so mush. Fifteen minutes later our room was ready. The room was perfect for a one night stay. So was the price and the location. Parking for our car was nearby and expensive, but comfortable for us. The male receptionist whom we asked where we could have lunch gave us the address of 'Amici miei'. Perfect!!!!!! The hotel probably used to be an upscale place that went slighly down Clean, rather nice The area surrounding the hotel is one of the main shopping areas of the town (I used to live 300 m from there...). Bus and Metro just round the corner - easy to reach (changing a couple of bus) from the Linate Airport and (train + metro) from Malpensa. My stay was not satisfactory because I was given a room facing Via Plinio. This means that at 6'o clock trams start rolling just below your window with a loud clankig noise. Stayed there 2 nights, woke up too early both mornings So, next time either I will manage to get a room not facing that street or I will choose a different hotel: for the same price I have found equivalent hotels

This hotel is 15 mins walk from the Stazione and also only about 4 stops on the tube system from Duomo so a good location. The hotel itself was fairly uneventful, the rooms were standard but one major annoyance was the heat of the room...it was like an oven during the night and when I opened the window it was very noisy. Also, there was no mini bar provided (well there was a bar with nothing in it) so I had to go downstairs in the middle of the night to get some water to cool me down in the roasting room. I had been to other 3 star accommodations during my stay and all had mini bar so was quite disappointing really. Had to leave at 7am so missed breakfast unfortunately. If I return to Milan I will probably choose another hotel but I suppose the price v's standard was equal.

The Demidoff is listed as a few metres from Milano Centrale Station. We don't think that half a kilometre is a few metres in any language. Get a taxi if you arrive at the Centrale Stazione with luggage! Don't let that comment put you off as the room is clean, there is ample hot water and access to shopping, sightseeing and all that Milan has to offer visitors is great.

The accommodations were fine. The room was nothing special, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was adequate and the location was ideal. The decor was old and needs updating. The staff was less than friendly. No one helped with our bags. There was a particular older, balding man with glasses, who was particularly unfriendly. He made my family and I feel rather unwelcome. He offered no suggestions about the city of Milan, cultural sites, or restaurants. We checked in at about 2-3pm and when we asked him where we could get something to eat, he said all the places were closed. I understand that many restaurants in Italy close in the afternoon, but not all. His answers were very short and gave me the impression that he was not pleased with my presence. In fact when probed further, his only answer was "There are some bars over there." This older man also left me and some other guests standing at the desk while he spoke on the telephone for quite some time. He should have acknowledged that we were there. There was a younger gentleman there who was very helpful, however. He gave us a map and circled a few places for us and told us where to enjoy ourselves in Milan. A continental "breakfast" was included and might as well not have been served. It was dreadful. The servers acted like they did not want to give you juice or coffee. The boiled eggs ran out and the rolls were less than fresh. Just save money and time and just tell people that there is no breakfast. I won't be returning here.

The hotel is not a few metres from the Central station but a five minute taxi ride or 20 minute walk. the area itself is not nice and there are no restaurants except a very dodgy burgerking and an awful italian type (down a side street). not recommended

The location is great for shopping and you can walk to all the sites. The breakfast was also wonderful. The noise level from neighboring bath rooms could improve.

The hotel is located in an area from which basically all sites worth visiting can easily be reached (both for things to see and shops to visit) either by foot (half an hour to the 'Duomo', 15 minutes to the main shopping area) or by metro which stops at 100m from the hotel and takes you in 4 stops to the 'Duomo' or in 7 stops (including one change of lines) to the south side of the centre where lots of reasonable to good restaurants can be found. The quality of the hotel itself and the services provided is in general a bit better then normally in a city-hotel can be expected, for the given price.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was located at the corner of the Lima Stop for the subway which was extremely convenient. Our room, which was a dependence suite had windows on both the front and the back of the suite so we had a bit of traffic noise from both sides (there was also a major soccer match going on)but overall it wasn't a problem for us. Our room was spacious but the furnishings sparse, although it was just enough. There was a washing machine in our room which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived too early to check in but were allowed to stow our bags there. The breakfast in the morning met our needs: soft boiled eggs, cereal, pastries, milk and juice. Coffee was available if your a drinker. For my family's needs, the location, room, cleanliness, amenities and staff were great. I would recommend this facility to anyone and would stay there again.

I stayed here both the day I arrived in Italy and the night before I left. Access from the train station is very good. Continental breakfast is pretty meager, but normal by Italian standards. Staff was very helpful (since I just attended a language school and spoke to them in italian!) The prices did seem a bit high given the small room, however, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was air conditioned (and used it my last night). I also saw that the room rate dropped from 65 to 50 euros during my two visits, and they lost a "*" on venere.com's rating.

Nice and clean hotel that is close to the centre of the city. It's also very near to the subway station (30 mt). However the room was very small and it had not the parking for the car, one of the reasons taht made me choose this hotel.

the hotel is well located near by one of the biggest shopping streets of milan "corso buenos aires", very close to metrostation "lima" (not more than 7 minutes to city center "duomo") and 2 diffrent tramstation for all other destinations - breakfast is typical italian not more not less (marmelade, cake and everything what`s sweet)!!! Milan is *the* fashion city of europe, perhaps of the world - really great, but that enough money with you ;D

We'd like to highly recommend Demidoff Hotel in Milano. The staff and the hotel are great. The prizes on venere.com are really interesting; in our case, the offer was half prize. I'm sure we will repeat the experience!

I arrived very early in the morning and the gentleman at the front desk made immediate arrangements for me to check into my room without any problem. I was most impressed by his kindness. I also stayed at the Hotel King in Milan, but the Hotel Demidoff is situated very well - great location because it is so close to everything. I will definitely return to both these hotels and I thank you for the great discount offered to guests through Venere.com. It is much less than the actual going rate!!

This hotel does not offer any non-smoking rooms. When we arrived the door to our room was wide open and the room and ensuite stunk of cigarette smoke. Our request to change rooms was denied because we had already 'used' the room. The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. The breakfast offered was very poor and we had to go across the road to buy a decent breakfast. There was no shower curtain or screen around the shower and as a result the bathroom would be soaking wet after a shower. The door to the rooms are paper thin and as a result you hear every person walking past your room... even at 3am in the morning! This was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in for a very long time.
