Hotel Cinque Giornate - Milan

Very noisy and a bit far

TOO LOUD!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!! UNLESS YOU DON'T WANT TO SLEEP TOO NOISE OUTSIDE (TRAMS, CARS, MOTOS...)

AWFUL -- STAY AWAY! We had informed the hotel in our reservation email that we were bringing 2 (boxed) bikes with us. When we arrived, they got nasty and refused to let us bring the boxes into the rooms, but also refused to provide any secure alternatives (such as a locked storeroom). After an argument, they finally agreed, but threatened to hold us responsible for any damage we might cause to the rooms. I had the manager come up and see already exising damage so we wouldn't be billed for it later. We decided to check out earlier than we'd originally planned; they got very belligerent, refused to let us do that, threatening to charge us for the entire original stay and telling us that we had no choice but to stay there. The desk clerk refused to let us speak to a manager, lied that he was unavailable (although one minute later she spoke to him by phone--in Italian). It took 3 rounds of arguments before they finally agreed to bill us only for the time of our actual stay and call it quits. Most unpleasant. The rooms, while nicely renovated, are very small and overlook the main street -- very noisy. Breakfast is OK -- though the bread is processed, there's a reasonable spread of cheese and spreads. Bad coffee. The worst part was the staff -- threatening and unpleasant. Parking -- on the street -- would be a nightmare in any but August when all of Milan is away on vacation.

Although clean, with renewed bathroom and in very convenient location, there were 3 severe withdraws:1.they asked me to pay at check-in giving me no receipt whatsoever 2.Queen-bed was actually two single matresses 3.there was no price-list for the mini-bar and I paid 6 euros(!) for a small bottle of water at check-out for which I also got no receipt
