Great price/quality relationship, rooms are nice and clean, warm reception, good breakfast. Room 32 is a bit noisy though due to street traffic (a very common problem in Milan), but the other rooms are much quieter.

Every word they said at the reception, I could hear. So in the morning I was awake quite early, even though I was tired.

Easy to find, just a few steps from the subway. Tiny bit noisy, but I'd stay there again. Good bargain.

A quiet hotel which was good value and only a short tram ride from the centre of Milan. Helpful and efficient staff. Not much in the immediate area but a good supermarket (right out of the hotel) and an excellent pizzeria (left) within a kilometre, both recommended by hotel staff.

I should mention that the hotel is quite difficult to find with only a print on the door saying the name of the hotel. Thanks to my fellow senegalese who are quite numerous in Venice helping me find it! The was a foul smell when I first entered the room but then you of course get accustomed. Room was Ok. Had to shower with lukewarm water the evening and icy water the next mornin despite complaining about it to the reception. Receptionist so cute I did not argue a lot while checking out. There's no elevator so beware if you have lots of luggage.

I stayed in Casa Mia for 2 nights and it is very close to Metro. We spent only around 10 -15 mins to walk from the Centrale train station even with luggages. It is just next to Westin and you can imagine the location is really not bad at all. Staff are helpful and things are clean. Room is bigger than the others when I stayed in Italy (i mean the similar price). Just one thing is that it is close to the tram station and which is closed at around 12am. So before that you can hear quite clearly the trams pass through when you stayed in the room close to the road side. Last but not least, the price is very attractive to live in this hotel (with FREE wifi!!!!!) and I would recommend this especially for those who spend short time in Milan.

Hotel was fine for 55Euros however I had stayed in another hotel in Milan for 60Euros the weekend before and it was far superior & included breakfast. I was given a single room right beside the reception & the hotel (on the first floor) has a tiled floor it was not a quiet stay. The reception let me have free internet access and helped me check in online. Like I said the hotel was OK but The Hotel San Fransisco in Milan was far better value.

I stayed one night. The room was fine for the price, no frills but very clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, having free internet access was a bonus. Great location for me: near central train station and bus to Malpensa, very close to metro station for sightseeing. One flight of stairs and the staff carried my luggage.

finding hotel casa mia was not easy because of construction on the building where the street name is listed. This is, of course, a temporary situation.

I chose the Casa Mia for it's execellent location, being handy to Milan Centrale station (we arrived by train from Venice)and close to Republic metro station. We were only staying the one night,so this was the most important factor for us. The hotel was basic and probably a bit overpriced but it was ideal for us at the time.

The place is good for the price. Location is very convenient for metro. Room was adequate for sleeping and shower; rest of the time we spent away from the hotel. What use is a luxury room or hotel? Alessandro at the front desk was very cheerful and helpful. A warning about the steep staircase may be required for less-abled tourists.

We found Casa Mia Hotel to be good but not great. It is a good vaule for your money, it is clean, and the staff is excellent (staffed 24 hrs a day). On the down side the room is very basic. Our room (triple) was next to the lobby and the door is not soundproof at all - we could hear the tapping of the keyboard when people were on the computer, for example. We had earplugs though, so we slept fine. The shower was small and the air conditioning was just OK. The location was nothing fancy, but good for us. About 10 minute walk from the central train station (even less if you take the metro) and another 10 minute walk to the high-end shopping areas and the Duomo. I recommend you print out the location on Mapquest or you may have trouble finding the hotel - the Piazza della Republica is not a typical Italian Piazza & you could spend an hour walking around it before you find the hotel. The hotel is about half a block off the Southeast corner of the Piazza, near the public gardens. The breakfast setup looked really nice, but we only stayed one night and had to leave before breakfast was served.

Great central location, 10mins walk to central station. Very friendly family run hotel, extremely good value for Milan. The day and eve male receptionists were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good (included). The rooms absolutely fine. Bit noisy early one morn when bin men came, but not exactly within hotels control. We had a great stay, would recommend this hotel to others and definately book here again. Flight of steps up from street to reception but receptionist will carry bags no problem.

Very nice little hotel. Nothing fancy, but very clean and well run. Our room was facing a very quiet court yard. Very helpful reception, good breakfast. Trattoria down the street (as suggested by front desk) was excellent. 15 minutes walk from the station, but not very clearly marked on the map, had to stop many times and ask for directions. Easy walk to city centre. Please keep in mind - the hotel is on second floor (i.e. first florr in Italy) with no elevator - might be a bit difficult for older travelers with heavy bags. Milan is a great beautiful city, I wish we had couple more days to spend there. We loved quiet little streets and many nice inexpensive restaurants beyond the main squire (the Dome) - we walked there for hours. I would definitely stay at Casa Mia again.

Milan is expensive, so the size of room is reasonable for price. Great location, next to republica metro and one stop from central FS. My room was near reception so was a little noisy in morning but it got me up for breakfast! Nice staff, free internet, nice croissant, yoghurt and coffee in morning. Clean, basic and good price for Milan.

We were on a short break in Italy - we found Casa Mia after reading the other reviews about hotels and Casa Mia had received a great deal of praise. The hotel combined value for money with excellent service and hospitality especially from the wonderful Alesander who is one of the hotel's greatest assets!!! He was so helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Milan itself was so beautiful and well worth a visit with a trip to the Duomo and surrounding shops in the piatza and a trip to Sforzesco castle a real must. Getting round on the metro is a little complicated but incredibly cheap at three euros for 24 hours travel. The tour bus was pricey at twenty euros but you could hop on and off as much as you liked and it gave a guided tour in any language of your choice. Fab holiday, and thanks especially to Alesander

Si volviera a Milán, seguramente procuraría volver a Casa Mia.

Being the first visit ti Italy, I was not very sure of the area, but i was pleasantly surprised of how central it was placed. My second visit to this hotel. It is just the sort of place that I need when on a brief visit to Milan. It's very handy from an access point of view, being just a couple of blocks from the Milano Centrale railway station and directly beside a tramway hub providing excellent access to the whole of the city. I would recommend it for one or two nights only, though. The hotel doesn't really have the facilities that one might look for for a longer stay. Also, it's not the place to stay if you have mobility problems. The front desk is on the first floor reached up a fairly steep flight of stairs.

Maybe they thought they were doing us a favour giving us a room with a view, but it was very noisy with trams and smokers from the restaurant downstairs under our window. The hotel did not seem too busy so we possibly could have got a quiter room at the back.Perhaps we could have been given the option when checking in? Staff very pleasant but the price a little high for what we got and the time of year (Nov).Hotel quite central but steep stairs to carry your luggage up.No elevator.

A very friendly little place, in a good position between the central station (15 minutes walk) and the historic centre. Possible to get a cup of coffee or tea at any time - especially useful on arrival back late in the evening. Only disadvantage is that the front door opens onto the foot of the narrow staircase, with reception at the top.

I would recommend this hotel for backpackers or those stopping through the city quickly. We were honeymooners, and did not have a comfortable stay here, but the price is certainly a great value and as I usually prefer to travel frugally, this hotel would have been very appropriate for budget travel. The beds were a bit uncomfortable to us, the bathroom had a little mold, but the room was generally clean. We could hear the conversation in the room next door from their bathroom, and you can hear footsteps in the hallways. No outside street noise was heard. This hotel is not a bad place to stay, but because of the extremely high reviews on the site, I thought it'd be more fitting for our honeymoon stopover in Milan, but sometimes high reviews just mean it's a good value, so take it for that, and other times it means it's a hotel with more amenities, etc. One younger man at the desk was extremely helpful to us in many ways, and even woke up at 5am to give us breakfast-to-go for our long drive, which we would have missed otherwise! He helped us orient ourselves in the city, and showed us areas for dining and shopping. Other service people at the hotel were not so friendly, but were not rude. The hotel is close to a subway stop, Republica, and we were able to get around the city easily from the location.

The double is two single beds pushed together. They would pull apart during the night. The owners sleep in the lounge area during the night and if you have a room next to the front desk (as I did) you'll hear them snoring and hear the door buzzer ring each time someone wants to come in.

Best thing about this hotel is its location. Right by a metro station, so access around Milan is good. Facilities in the hotel are very basic. For some reason they like to close all the curtains in the hotel so it looks really dark inside everywhere! Cost to stay here is low. You get what you pay for. The young male receptionist I came across was very helpful - he lent me an adaptor for my stay as I didn't realise they used a different socket to the one in other European countries such as Holland or Spain.

Clean rooms, pleasant staff, convenient location to metro and train station. Just bring earplugs, in case your room is near the reception desk, as the morning preparations for breakfast can be noisy-- specifically, the foaming of milk! But the fact that you can even have, say, a latte machiato with breakfast says a lot about the quality of this little place.

Casa Mia is a small hotel situated on the first floor of an apartment block. There is no lift up, so it’s not suitable for disabled or elderly people who would have difficulty with stairs. It’s excellently located on the SE corner of Plaza Republicca and is only about 100m from the adjacent Metro station exit. Republicca is a huge Metro station with exits on all 4 corners of the Plaza, so it can be a bit confusing until you get your bearings. Republicca is only one stop away from Stazione Centrale FS, where the buses from Bergamo airport arrive and depart. If your cases roll, walking from FS to the hotel will only take 10-15 minutes downhill along a wide pavement, or if you feel up to the challenge take the metro, it’s only one stop. The metro ticket machines seem a bit daunting at first until you realise that a 1 Euro ticket takes you anywhere in the city centre on metro or trams for a 75 minute period after it’s stamped in the orange validating machines. The Hotel is situated on a busy street, and I guess noise could be an issue if you had a room overlooking the front street, but from what I could see most rooms are to the rear, overlooking a little courtyard and an office block. We heard no noise at all at night, and none in the hotel until about 8am when you hear people moving around on the tiled floors. The room was an adequate size by European standards, the bathroom fine also. The shower was hot with plenty of pressure, and the air-con heating worked fine. Although the public areas were fresh and recently decorated, the room could have done with a deep clean and fresh paintwork, but it was perfectly ok at the price. The reception staff who are on duty 24hrs spoke a little English, and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served from 7am to 10am and consisted of orange juice, coffee and croissants, cakes, yoghurt – pretty much standard for Europe. Republicca is only 3 metro stops from the city centre (Duomo – La Scala). The metro stops running at midnight,

We were welcomed warmly by the staff. Though we arrived early most of our rooms were available. The staff was very helpful. One spoke excellent English. It is located about 15-20 minutes from the central train station which makes it very convenient for travelers. Please beware of the pickpockets at the train station. The main lobby is up a flight of stairs so it is not handicap accessible. The beds were a little hard but this was the only complaint. The breakfast provided was a nice continental breakfast. It is also located about 20-25 minute walk from Duomo and Galleria. The rooms were arranged well. Small things like coat hooks and a large mirror with an electrical outlet nearby made using the rooms easier. The TV had an English version CNN channel. The rooms were very clean. There is also an Internet cafe within 5 minute walk.I would definitely stay there again when I am in Milan.

Just one thing - the TVs - should have one news station/music station - nothing in English.

The place was difficult to find. The location is generally good if you want to stay somewhere between the center and the train station. Close to all major metro stations.

Perfect location for a short stay and visit of the city center. Only one metro stop away on the yellow line to Stazione Centrale. Ideal for catching the early morning shuttle to Malpensa airport.

The Hotel in general was fine however, there a few points to bare in mind, the rooms near the reception area are subject to noise from incoming and departing guests. So if you want and early night or a long lie in the morning, try to get a room away from the reception area. Access for disabled people is poor, before you gain entry to the reception area which is one the first floor, you have to walk up around 25 stairs which are steep and narrow and have no wheelchair facilities. Having said that, If you are able bodied and on a budget, this hotel is clean well situated and good value for money.

We were in Milan from Sep 22-25. The hotel was short walk from station but it's actually easier to take subway. We got a room which has no A/C (apparently A/C service for summer ended on Sep 15...) and faced the street with train/bus/vespas vrooming day & night (read: noisy all day, we could even hear people talking on cell phone on the street at night!). So make sure you request a quiet room. Best part is the breakfast and friendly staff. But overall it's a good stay.

We booked fairly late in the day so Casa Mia was a very good find. If we had booked earlier then it we could have a 3 star accomodation for less. Casa Mia is fine wioth very helpful staff.

This is a reasonably priced little hotel, equidistant to Milan Centrale Stazione and down town Milan. If you plan to spend most of your time out-and-about and you have a limited budget, this hotel will suit you fine!

Rooms are basic and rather poky, but perfectly adequate for a brief stay. Friendly staff, and in a good position with an easy bus ride to the Station, walk to centre of town and a tube stop. A good inexpensieve base for exploring Milan.

I found it hard to believe that I could find such a cheap room in Milan. I thought that it was going to be horrible, but it was actually very nice. Its a kilometer or two walk to the Duomo, but if you dont mind that it was great value in my book

The staff was very helpful, stairs no elevator, street frontage is small. It would be helpful to have a picture to know exctly what to look for, maybe it was onsite and I just missed it.

A good place to stay for those on a budget. The hotel was central enough to walk to the Duomo in about 20 minutes. We were close to the public gardens which gave the surroundings a peaceful feel. Would definitely use the hotel again on a return trip to Milan.

Recommended. Clean, quiet. Renovated bathroom, nice towels, comfortable bed. Everything in the room worked, nothing was broken(!) Public areas are acceptable, no more. Amazingly quiet street. Within walking distance from the Stazione Centrale. Walking to the city center is OK, especially through the park, but on the way back you might find it just a bit too far... But there is the metro and busses. In the evenings the reception was handled by the usual retired(?) elderly man you find at many small hotels - speaks one language only and is generally defensive when he has to leave the TV to help you. However this is understandable, we would probably all act the same in his situation. But the day people should be perfect! (They were.)

The hotel was fine for what it was, but it does seem overpriced. However, the same could be said of all hotels in Milano, so it doesn't really matter.

Milan is an expensive city, as far as Italy goes. Your expectation for this hotel should be a clean room to bathe and sleep in and nothing more. The location is very good, about a one minute walk from the subway system. Italy's hotel owners are notorious for tacking on extra charges at the end of your stay. I was releived that there was no difference to my quoted price and what they wanted from me at the end of my stay at Casa Mia. If you've not traveled in Italy before, know that innkeepers often hold your passport from the beginning of your stay until you leave. Also, with a number of Italian hotels, you leave your key at the desk when you leave, and you have to buzz up to be let in late at night. It is their policy and you should not feel like you're inconveniencing them by returning to your room at 3:30 a.m. and forcing them to get up, get your key and let you in. That's the way they want it. My one major complaint, and I do hope the propietors read this, because it seems like an easy fix, was the cleaning person. She made the most insane bunch of racket I've ever experienced in a hotel. The problem was that it seemed she began cleaning the rooms at about 8 or 9 a.m., but it didn't sound like normal cleaning. Each morning it consistently sounded like she was moving every piece of furniture in every room all the way down the hall. Maybe I stayed during the special spring "lets rearrange the rooms early in the morning every day for a week" festival, but it was extremely inconsiderate, expecially knowing that half of the draw to Milan is it's nightlife, and if a person has come to the city to enjoy that, they will not be very happy to hear the maid scraping things across the tiled floors all morning long. Besides that one thing, which absolutely should be changed, a worthwhile buy. If you're an early riser, no problems. Happy trails!

We were greeted very warmly, prepared to speak several languages including excellent English. The accommodation was as described. It is located in a safe location, which proved vto be very workable given it's proximity to the Centrale (15 min. walk), subway stations (very short walk) and the center of the Historical section of Milan. The bathroom and shower were more than adequate. We experienced quiet nights of sleep, one night hearing noise from the hallway from our room on bordering the courtyard. Breakfast was enjoyable. How can you not like the day starting off with capuccino and croissant, juice and fresh fruit? The staff was extremely helpful and thoughtful. After checking out, we left our baggage with the staff until our departure that night. I highly recommend this hotel for value. You will undoubtedly find more spacious and elaborate accommodation but we are the type to spend more time out of the hotel than in it, essentially using it to rest up for the next day of experiencing the nearby attractions of Milan.
