Hotel Canova - Milan

Very easy access to/from bus station/railway station. Nice service and friendly staff. Only problem was in fact that there was no isolation what so every between the rooms. Very easy to hear everything that happens at the "neighbours". If you can accept that, no problem. And only 10 Euro with taxi to Brera-district.

The bathroom was not properly cleaned, room very small. Would need some renovation, some furniture dates back to 70', time for a change!

the bell man not very nice asked him how to work the air conditioner ,he said he didn't know and just went away.Good breakfast,very small room.

Brillant location. Really close to central train station. Handy walking distance to all major shopping and tourist areas. Good local restaurants as well. Staff were great, especially those working at reception.

This hotel is like a motel with extra floors. The third star is certainly not evident when you experience the room. The halls were echoey, and confined. Overall I would say that it felt really cheap for the amount of money that they asked for.

I could not find an internet connection in my room, although it is mentioned in the website. Except that, this Hotel was very good for the price.

VERY GOOD LOCATION TO BUS TRANSPORTATION TO MALPENSA AIRPORT. STAFF VERY HELPFUL AS FAR AS RESTAURANT RECOMMENDATIONS AND BUS/TRAIN/TAXI INFORMATION. VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN !

Canova is in a good position near the railway station and airport terminal bus link. Handy for metro to other areas of Milan. Clean room but quite basic. Good bathroom.

Way too expensive for what the room and property were really like. I guess three stars means something different in Milano (as opposed to Santa Margherita, where 3 stars meant great!) I was really disappointed in this hotel, it felt like soemplace where shady businessmen would go for an afternoon tryst. For 180 euro, it should at least be clean and cheerful.

It's right near the train station, which was nice after all the travelling we had already done. Decent area and pretty close to everything we needed. Our room had a really big bathtub, which was nice. No safe in the room, and the decor feels like it came straight out of the 70's (there's a non-functioning radio and TV remote control built into the walls), but I was still pleased with the hotel, especially for only 90 euros a night.

I appreciate the Venere.com service. It was simple to use, and provided valuable information for finding and selecting hotels in Italy. While I only used venere.com for Milan, I have bookmarked it for future use. The Hotel Canova was located ideally for arrival into the country at Malpensa Airport. It was two blocks from the train station and was surrounded by nice places to lunch and dine. The service was very professional and pleasant. I have to say, though, that our room on the south side of the building, in the sun all day (June 19) was so hot it was at times almost unbearable. The air-con was so feeble that our closed up room was the hottest place in Milan, even at night when the town was cooling down. I suspect that the rooms in the back of the building were much more comfortable. So depending on the time of year, and the room location within the building, I can recommend the Canova as a convenient short stay in Milan.

The air conditioning in the room did not work very well. But the worst thing that happened was a bunch of kids running up and down the hall at 3:30am one morning. When I called the front desk about it, they didn't too concerned. I'm sure this event negatively impacted my feelings about the hotel, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

The hotel was incredibly accessible to the trains, metro, buses etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was better than expected (ie incredible value for price). It is close to a whole range of cafes and restaurants which was brilliant. I can't get over how beautiful Milan was and part of this is because of my experience with Canova. A top notch hotel! Thanks for helping make the weekend brilliant!

The hotel furnishing is very old and dark(not the antique kind, just outdated). Rooms are small and the bathtub and toilet are dirty and have yellow stain on them. There is even mold on the ceiling. Breakfast is not buffet style, just a few pieces of bread and coffee. On the positive side, there is a big TV in our room and the location of the hotel is very close to the train station, metro and shops.
