We just stayed for one night. The rooms are quite newly renovated, modern, well equipped and clean. Service was friendly and helpful. The location is close to the city center - 15 minutes walk to the cathedral. The garage was fully booked (so book in advance if you need it) however there was plenty of parking space in front of the hotel (free between 7pm and 8am).

We travel a lot. For the first time we are positively surprised over at a new hotel. The welcoming, professional staff was excellent. As the spatious rooms, great breakfast, the fact that bus 94 (key to everything) was 1 min from the hotel and we just loved the daily changing of carpets in the elevator (monday, tuesday etc.. *Lol*. Will return for sure! Thanks fo a great stay!!!

The hotel is in a good location for visiting the sites of Milan. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The hotel staff recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner, which was within easy walking distance of the hotel.

This hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Duomo. The staff was very helpful in explaining how to get around, where to buy Metro tickets, and giving directions to the major sites. The breakfast room is fabulous. They have a lot of different types of food and all of the breads and pastries are very fresh. They made an attempt at American breakfast foods too with toast, bacon, and eggs. The rooms are small if you just get a double but very very well done. The bathroom is top notch and the beds are quite lovely. Might be worth it to spring for a double deluxe just for a little extra space. Other than that, would definitely stay here again! The only down side was the noise coming from the busy street it is on, and you can hear the water running in other people's rooms. Didn't bother us too much though. Overall a great find.

Really difficult of access if you do not know Milan. The street has a side line along the hotel so you shouldn't miss the entrance to it. There are also numerous one way streets around so you can get lost.

This hotel had the best bed and pillows of any hotel I have stayed at in six months of traveling around Italy. The furniture and décor of the room were all brand new and modern. The room and bathroom did their best to represent what size an Italian hotel should be, but what to you really need tons of square footage in a hotel room for? Plus, the small shower had a wonderful rainshower showerhead with great water pressure. The location was fine. It’s only a short walk to either the metro or trolley then you are only a short ride to all of Milan’s attractions.

The hotel was great! Really clean, up-to-date and the staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were immaculate, the bathroom spacious and showerheads were awesome after a really long day! Breakfast was fantastic. While the location is close to a metro stop; overall it is a little bit remote and everything closes on Sunday...EVERYTHING!

We booked a standard double room at the Hotel Canada expecting a moderately nice room, but had our expectations far exceeded. On arriving, we were given Room 802, and were surprised to find that it was a very large room (approaching the size of a suite) on the top floor of the hotel. The room also had a wonderfully large roof terrace, was modern in decor (it looked recently refurbished) and had an extremely comfortable and large bed, along with a large bathroom (with jacuzzi bath). The hotel was a short walk from the Duomo and a good metro station, so was ideally located for sightseeing and trips to Lake Como, Verona, Venice and elsewhere from the central train stations. Breakfast was included in our rate and consisted of a fair selection of hams, cheeses, breads, croissants, cereals, fruits and a cooked offering of scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff at the hotel were friendly and knowledgable, recommending some lovely restaurants and day trips from Milan. They really enhanced the quality of our stay. We will definitely stay here again.

This was our first visit to Milano( the first stop-over on our Italy leg of our trip ). Our room was recently totally refurbished, so everything was sparkling and new . As the renovations were ongoing, there was some building noise at the time. The hotel is near some restaurants & bars, and trams to the city centre are 100m away.

We recently stayed at Hotel Canada. We had a triple room. The hotel was clean, the rooms were recently remodeled, the staff went above and beyond to help us ship items back to the states, breaklfast buffet was tasty, and they provided us with good restaurant recommendations for dinner - although they could not give us adequate directions to the restaurants. Yes the hotel is about a ten minute walk to the piazza del Duomo, but the value for the money and the pleasantness of the accomodations made up for that. Definitely one of the nicer European triple rooms. I would definitely stay here again - great experience!

This hotel is absolutely above all expectations for its price. We had booked room 303, for 70 euros per night. Hotel Canada, as also mentioned by other reviewers, is being renovated until the 5th of September. I don't know if these prices will remain the same after the renovation. But, for the mentioned price, the room was a great value for money. Clinical clean, beautifully decorated, very spacious, everything was new. The staff was very kind, the breakfast was ok (great cappuccino). The hotel is near the centre (10 mins walking) and near a metro station, parking in front of the hotel is available.

The newly renovated room is excellent. Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Benito who works at night shift gave us great recommendation on restaurant. The bellboy, Robin, is awesome and very very helpful. Great price for such a strategic location. Highly recommended. Room size is very very generous for European standard and toilet is huge. Can't wait for the public space such as lobby and restaurant in the basement to be renovated. All in all, a very good steal indeed! =)

Fantastic hotel for the money. The rooms were modern, clean and really well equipped. Modern flat screen tv, safe in closet, lovely furniture, and fabulous bathroom. It has obviously been refurbished, but they have done so very stylishly. There was ongoing work in the building, but it never disturbed us(from 8.30 in the morning.) We stayed 3 nights. Easy to access metro and trams but you could walk to historic centre. Nearby restaurants were good value and very untouristy - lot's of locals. Would stay here again for sure.( I just hope I didn't oversell it or everyone will want to stay!

In inglese per raggiungere piu personi... In a noisy city like Milan the Hotal Canada was a surprise for its quietness. Someone could question the spaciousness of rooms but I found them very reasonable and functional. A stylish bathroom, digitaly controlled air-conditioning, illuminated wardrobe and LCD TV complete the room and provide a pleasant stay. Hotel staff was lovely and helped me with suggestions for sightseeing and places to eat among other things. There was even a 115V outlet with brazilian plug, something I missed in all other hotels I stayed in Italy. Would I stay there again or reccomend it? Surely.

This hotel was wonderful. The room we stayed in were modern, quiet, the bathroom was spacious, and the bed was the most comfortable we slept in during the three weeks we were in Italy. The staff was equally as great. We had to stay an extra night, and we were offered the same room at the same rate as the night before with little notice to the hotel. They even called our other hotel to help us change our reservations. The breakfast was also fantastic. We would stay at Hotel Canada if we were ever in Milan again. I recommend it to anyone!!!

Nice affordable hotel near the city center with a very nice room. Easy to get to via public transportation and an easy fun walk to the Duomo. Wonderful bars and cafes along the walk. Welcoming staff (they allowed us to bring our bags prior to check in and stored them). A bit of street noise but considering we were in the middle of Milan ... understandable. Nice breakfast. I would highly recommend this place especially given the location and price and would not hesitate to come here again.

This is a very nice hotel in general in a walking distance from Piazza del Duomo (two metro stations). The only thing you should be sure, that you are booked in the renovated part of the hotel. At arrival the receptionist mentioned, that on the next day we will have a chance to move from the room we got upon arrival. The first room was located on the 6th floor and was rather old fashioned and poor, but tidy. Next day we really moved to a refurbished room on the 3rd floor, and this was pretty nice with new Italian design. The only remark that there was just a small open wardrobe with limited capacity. The public areas are OK, the breakfast is on average level, but I should highlight that the coffee is not the general one, but freshly prepared Italian style upon request. Just around the corner there is a nice restaurant to have diner (Il Isola del Tresoro) ask the receptionist for details.

This hotel looks better in reality than on Venere's website. We were pleasantly surprised by our room, spacious and tastefully true to the Italian contemporary style (something similar to what we later saw at Armani Casa in Milan). The bathroom was outstanding as well, both by functionality and design. Location is good, adjacent to Porta Romana and 10-15 mins walk from the Duomo. Don't expect anything flashy in terms of the public areas (like bar, pool, etc...), just the essentials: reception desk, luggage ramp and internet. Breakfast was generous and well made; our evening arrival was complimented with a light snack/buffet available at the reception - we found it a very nice touch. On the downside, we found it odd to pay two nights at one price and the third significantly higher.

First time stay at Hotel Canada. Hotel price 75€/night for 2 nights) is a great deal in relation to its proximity (within walking distance) to the city centre, and public transportation (tram + bus) is readily available. Hotel recommended a couple of restaurants very nearby, and one seemed closed (pizzeria), and the other, known for seafood, treated us like family (L'Isola di Torre?). Had specifically asked for the room to have a bathtub, which it did, and although I do not consider myself overweight (size 12-UK / size 38-France), it was difficult to fit inside it (width-wise, not length-wise). Plus, the shower head did not function well at all, and just had a stream of water flowing out of it. At the time, the hotel was undergoing renovation, and from about 8h00 on a Saturday (morning), we heard it. Good wake-up call! We had a room that looked out onto the street, and did not find it to be noisy at all. Breakfast was good - nice selection of meats, cheese, and good cappuccino. Hotel staff - friendly and welcoming.

Some of the hotelrooms were under renovation. The hotel send me e-mail before arrival, saying it does not cause noise to the rooms; but it did, and a lot!! Hotel Canada did not even get any discount from that inconvenience. The workers started at 7.30 a.m, even they should have started at 8 a.m. And anyway it is too early to start, they should wait at least until 9 a.m!!

Hotel Canada was a great stop, for a good price, close to the metro, clean and in a decent area. The only downside is that on a weekend, the surrounding area is almost completely dead, no stores, cafes etc. open. Probably alot more lively during the week. ask the desk for restaurant recommendations, some great local spots. The breakfast was the best we had throughout our Italian trip, lots of selection.

Room was small, as expected. Shower a tiny corner stall, but enclosed. Staff was very pleasant and interactive. Snacks were produced every time we sat in or near the lobby. Street is unattractive and busy. Cabs are hard to obtain, but came upon desk's call. Bus stops in front, and is a good line for shopping and Castle destinations. Neighborhood includes easily used grocery store with good variety, Tabac for bus tokens and news/snacks, post-office for phone cards and stamps (they close at ?2PM). Breakfast was wonderful. Main complaint was listed internet access. There's just an in-lobby Win 95(!) machine, time-rationed by the whim of the desk staff. I made better use of the ethernet cable late at night with my own laptop ... but don't know what I'd have done to reach my 'net needs if there was 'competition' for this improvesed resource.

15 minute walk to the Duomo along shop-lined streets. Within a block of Metro station. For soccer fans, 1 block from the trolley stop to San Siro. Desk staff speak excellent English. Staff helpful (althouogh did not give the wake-up call on the day of departure; some staff more helpful than others)! Front of hotel along a fairly busy street (via Santa Sofia), although generally not too loud in room. 1 block from grocery store & cafes. Breakfast is better than the web photos indicate (ham & cheese, pasteries, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee), quite satisfactory. Room was clean, sufficient size for sightseers, although no lounge chair or carpeting of any kind. Internet service is available in lounge, very reasonably priced, although a little slow (Windows 98). Recommended.

The hotel is centrally situated, a walking distance to Duomo sq. The metro station is 500m, bus stop just outside the hotel. The room was small but very clean and the bathroom was spacious and provided the basic toiletteries. The hotel does not have a lot of rooms, but it is my belief that 85% of them overlook the street. Our room was at the 6th floor, so we did not really hear any noise. The staff was friendly and helpful, their directions were very accurate, they suggested a nearby restaurant which was frecuented by local people and was not a tourist trap. They lent us umbrellas while the rain was pouring heavily. They even suggested not buying a bus ticket on a sunday night and getting on the bus for free, as "there was a slight likehood of meeting a controller at the time"! The breakfast included basic but enough food, i.e. cheese, ham, jams, 3 different types of pastries, orange and fruit juice, yogurt, cereals etc etc and the two friendly girls who were in charge prepared any type of coffee you asked for. As for the surroundings, Porta Romana is at the corner and you will find a lot of shops, icluding a tobacco shop/newspaper stand and a bar. Overall, it was a good hotel for budget accomodation, centrally situated, even if at first impression you don't realise how close it is to the Duomo. We stayed 2 nights and paid 80 euros per night, if you get any bargain less than this, go for it, it is worth it.

We arrived in Milan all jet-lagged after an overnight flight over the Atlantic. After a short walk from the Crocetta metro stop, we arrived at the Canada and warmly greeted. The staff allowed us to leave our bags in the reception area while our room was readied and we took off to do some sightseeing. The Canada impressed us with cleanliness and a competent staff. The location is close to most of the major sights, and convenient to the metro. We had a street facing room, and our stay was restful. The Canada made our transition to another time zone easier, and I would heartly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The price is reasonable and the room is clean and enough confortable. Only the weak point is the breakfast room, but the other things are excellent.

C'est un excellent hôtel pour un budget raisonable.

The lobby of the hotel looked nice and modern but the rooms, although clean, was stuck in the 70's. Wished that the rooms looked more like the lobby. The little grocery store on the corner was convenient.

This was a fine hotel. Our only major issue was that the air conditioner in our room did not work, and it was a hot, humid day in Milan. We would probably stay here agin, though, it was still a good value for the price.

A lovely and relaxing experience! The room had airconditioning, was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom (toilet, shower and handbasin) spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located about a 15 minute stroll from the Duomo. From the moment you enter the hotel you feel welcome and at home. All the staff members (from reception, the porter and cleaning staff) were friendly and very helpful. The reception staff was informative about the hotel facilities, tourist attractions, restaurants and Italy in general. I do recommend this hotel to any traveller and will stay here again when ever visiting Milan again.
