Good location close to Milano Centrale and good value for money. Rooms very clean but small. The bathroom could well have some more hooks and shelf space! The breakfast buffet was adequate for our needs. Can be recommended for a quick stopover but not for a longer stay.

This hotel was very poor overall. The rooms were small, dark, didn't seem very clean and were very old. The air conditioning was not adjustable and was not cool enough for the hot weather. Employees were not that helpful. Both computers in the lobby broken. Only 1 hour internet voucher available and for first day. After that, had to pay and sometimes not available at all. I would never stay again.

Hotel is quite loud and rooms could have been cleaner and staff more polite, but as our main aim was to see the city and not hang out in hotel, we did not pay much attention to it. The location of hotel is excellent, you are in walking distance to all attractions - sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, transportation to all airports from Central Station, which is only 5 min walk from hotel. Overall - I would still recomend this hotel as a good choice for its location and price.

The front desk manager was very rude and condescending. We have traveled extensively throughout Italy but this was a very bad first impression of Milan. The price of 230 euro was ridiculous for a small noisy room next to the elevator with twin bed sheets on the double bed so that you had to use the dirty bedspread to cover yourself with! It was about a 20-minute walk to the duomo, but very close to the train station which was the only positive thing about it.

This hotel was awful! Cramped, dark rooms, not al all welcoming! The minibar was warmer than the summer heat outside! Staff was not at all helpful. Breakfast was OK! The standards of this hotel were far below my worst expectations! I'd never return here, and would never recommend this hotel to anyone - not even my worst enemy!

The only advantage of this hotel is the location where is close to the Metro and Milan Central Station. Other than that, the hotel itself is totally not good. The room is samll, the bathroom is small and dirty and bad smell. The service is poor, the reception attitude is cold, so as the old man in the breakfast room. I think they have a negative attitude to the Chinese. And they give reason to refuse credit card payment.

A very smaal 2-p room, about 2,50x3m, airco not working at night (only in the evening), lots of noise from backside installations of hotel and others (such as airco, refrigerators etc), a completely uninterested barman, for his own job, and no reaction on our reguest if we could take some breakfast with while having to leave a little before 7 a.m.;

Please instruct the hotel staff not to give those rooms right next to the elevator when there are still other rooms available. Our room was EXTREMELY noisy, we could almost not sleep. So 80 EUR for one night was NOT an appropriate price in our case. Breakfast buffet was nice!

Rude staff. location near central station is good for taking metro around, but the area itself is yuck. Night time in the area is pleasant or particularly safe. make a reservation if you want to see the last supper (5 days in advance req'd). basically, i wont return to Milan or to this hotel.

I thought the gentleman at the desk was rude to my husband and because I am hyper-sensitive to these things I checked with my husband (who is very laid-back) and he too thought the staff was a little rude. It was OK because they were competent and thorough and that is what really matters but politeness does not "cost" the hotel anything to provide.

We stayed in Hotel Bernina for 3 nights and can only say we loved our stay there. The staff and location are great : people are very agreeable and the hotel is close to Milano Centrale. Their rate was excellent and we enjoyed their expanded breakfast ! We would surely return to Hotel Bernina if we go to Milan again. From Milano Centrale you can go to several nearby towns like Bergamo, Lecco, Sondrio and Torino for a day trip and from Milano Centrale Metro you're just some stops away from Duomo, Scala Theater, the old churches and both Garibaldi and Cadorna Stations to enable you to further day trips from Milan like a visit to beautiful Como.

Very centrally located hotel next to the railway station. Rooms are small but well equipped. One very small elevator. In principle Internet is available to the guests through a PC in the lobby (about 5 euro per hour), however only before noon. According to the staff “the Internet is closed” for the rest of the day.

I stayed here 1 night in June 06. The room itself was OK. The location is close to the train station, which is fine if you're taking the train, but there's very little else nearby. The room had a very small bathroom and a horribly small shower. I've travelled in Europe quite a bit, so small bathrooms and showers aren't surprising, but this one was TINY. I'm a pretty thin guy, but this shower was difficult to use. Also, you should be aware that this hotel has free porn on the TV's. If it were good porn it would be one thing, but this stuff was nasty. Seriously, it was not good porn. Also annoying was that I wasn't able to pay by credit card. They claim to accept credit cards, but based on other reviews and my experience, it's clear that they really just don't want to and will basically lie to you to get out of accepting payment by credit card. I observed other guests have similar problems checking out. The guy at the desk used different excuses for different guests, but the end result was that the guest had to pay cash. I'm guessing that if I'd failed to show up, they'd have found a way to charge my credit card, though.

The room was very small and located directly on a busy street. The fan appeared as though it may fall off of the ceiling and we couldn't get the air conditioning to work, so we opened the window, but there was a lot of noise outside so it was hard to sleep. That said, the room was fine and it was one of the least expensive places of our trip throughout Italy and the breakfast was good. Also, the proximity to the Milano Centrale train station was a plus. I suppose you get what you pay for.

The card reader did not work so we had to pay cash (I already read about this on the internet and it seems this happens very often there.). Even though we have not used the telephone in our room the hotel said there was one call. We didn't have to pay for this in the end but it is a bit strange.

The photographs shown of the rooms are very misleading. they always show you the best room, but when you actually go there, you are given a much smaller room. The bathrooms are very small, and the hotel in Rome, Montecarlo, the shower area was so tiny you had to step in sideways...heaven help a fat person.! The second time we went there on our return to Rome, they gave us their best rooms which was double the size and a better bathroom with tub/jacuzzi. These are the rooms generally all hotels show on the net. Overall I found Venere a very good site to book my hotels on and would do so again.

My son and I were very happy. The hotel is very central to transport, only a few minutes walk from Statione Centrale and the metro which was convenient as my son had to get to Fiera Milano each day. It is only 5 minutes by metro to the city centre, Duomo. There were a couple of good cafes around the area. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional. The breakfast which was included in the price was very generous and the breakfast room staff were very lovely. It does help if you speak some italian though. Be aware though, the hotel does seem to like the bill settled in cash. I had read previous reviews on the hotel and several times it was mentioned that when it came time to pay the bill by credit card "sorry the machine is broken, you must pay cash". So I wasn,t surprised when I also got that response. We would definitely return to stay.

All information and services provided corresponds with online information available. To better orientation the place of hottel could be indicated more correctly. Rooms good, all facilities working. Some unconvenience for quiet visitors could be rised by noise from stairs and neighboring rooms during the night. Breakfast is good enough. Hotel situated in good place with good possibilities to travel around as well as to and from airport. I'll choose this hotel if I'm going to visit Milano again. I choosed the Bernina because of the price quoted and the positive feedback some of other guests gave. Anyway, I think I will never choose it again - in my opinion it is not worth the money. There are much better hotels in this area which offer more service and are more comfortable than the Bernina. My single room was very small, but relatively clean. The TV-Set was very, very small and of hororable quality. The walls of the room should be made of paper or something like that...;-( The breakfast is very poor and the choice is also not that big. Welcoming was also not really nice - only the breakfast stuff (2 guys) were just ok. There are a lot of ugly prostitutes around the Hotels area - so do not choose it, if you plan to stay with children. Positive: Very close to Main Railway Station, Metro and Tram. I will def choose another Hotel as soon as I come back to Milan..

Location is great.Breakfast is good and sufficient. But bathroom is very small specially shower is too small, which will be very difficult to use if you are not miss USA. Hotel does not like to accept credit card, they placed a sign on the desk that machine is not working so they cannot accept credit card, although all credit card signs are on the door. We stayed there on 30th May and paid by cash. After visiting Italy we came back there on 12th June for two nights, same sign about 'broken machine' was there. This time we asked them why the machine was not fixed within this time period? Answer was it is working of and on and they took the credit card. Truth is they like to have cash it should be on the hotel add in venere wabesite. Also hotel does not turn ON AC before June 10th.

We got a really good price (€70/night) which included a decent breakfast(Excellent coffee at breakfast!). As most of the time, you get what you pay for. We were not that impressed with the room, that didn't have room for much more than what was already in it. But we were only supposed to sleep there so the room felt ok. The staff was not very fluent in English, but rather polite. Unfortunately the credit card machine was broken when we were to pay, but there are several ATMs close to the hotel. Also, the hotel is close to the subway station and Statzione Centrale so it's easy to get where every you want from the hotel.

I found this to be a hotel of moderate standards - the price was good for Milan, the location was good - close to the Metro station for the Duomo stop etc.... The breakfast staff were very friendly. My only complaint is that the room was very compact and the bathroom was pretty grim - the tiles were stained and cracked in the shower and the shower did not work so well. Other than that for the money you pay is was ok - but I wouldn't want to stay there for more than 2 nights!

Nice clean hotel and really handy for the central station. The reception staff sometimes took a while to get around to dealing with you but the breakfast buffet was good. About the only grumble I have is that they supposedly take credit cards, but always had a sign up saying that the machine was out of order. When I asked about it, they said that it was going to be fixed "tomorrow". Well tomorrow never came and I ended up having to pay in cash! But this isn't the first time this has happened to me in Italy, so I was half expecting it. That grumble aside, I'd stay in the Bernina again.

The hotel was a very short walk from the train station, actually closer than the map implies. So it was also just a 1-2 minute walk to the subway entrance. The room was immaculate and spacious enough and the bathroom was also big. The only problem was with the shower - there was no shelf or nook for the soap. The breakfast was great and there were internet workstations in the lobby. The only real issue that I had was the type of TV programming available - apparently the cable stations that they have chosen include several that show porn during the day - this was quite a shoch at 5pm when I was channel surfing for the news.

Good hotel at good price. Minus points: broken credit card machine when I was there; the thin walls on my floor let through regular conversation and TV from neighbouring room, although it did not turn out to be a problem as my neighbours had the same timetable as I did, it could be a problem otherwise. Plus point: SCT channel on the TV at no extra charge!

The service was poor. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Good location in relation to the train station. Price was relatively high for room.

The room was tiny, but well outfitted. The price (40 Euros per night) was a bargain for a city like Milan. I would certainly stay there again.

I would rate my stay at Bernina as, just what I expected. I was in Milan for one night as a stop over to catch my flight home the next day. What I was looking for was... a clean room with a good price...and that's exactly what I got. If you're looking for a place to stay while on vacation for a couple of days I would not reccomend this hotel. Also if you are travelling with children I would reccomend splurging on a bigger hotel with better ammenities. I had a problem with my shower that required me to put it back together before entering!! If you are just looking for one night stop over to catch a flight or train it's a great location and great price.

Exactly what we expected from looking at the Web Site and the comments from other people. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The room was spacious and clean - directions were good, we found it easily!

My friend and I stayed in the Bernina and it was good value for money although we did have a room next to the lift on the first floor and this proved to be a bit noisy.

I liked the hotel. The most helpful thing was the users opinions listed on this site for each hotel. The hotel was small and compact. The list is too small. The corridors of the hotel are too small. The reception area is big . The staff speak english (thank god!). The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean and tidy though compact. All in all it was a pleasant stay. It is very close to the railway station. It would help if the hotel can give directions to the hotel in detailed a little more by saying wlak towards this building and turn left or right instead of just saying "hotel in frm of the station" because one cannot see the hotel from the station.

The hotel was good, slighty outdated but comfortable for a base. The breakfast was varied, although the room is not big enough for the number of guests staying at the hotel. The staff were polite and friendly, however we found the man on reception who checked us in to be quite rude and sarcastic due to a problem that arose on checking in.

I am very satisfied that I chose this hotel! Hotel's location is very close to Railway station and not so far from city center. The continental breakfast was very good for that price. And the internet point was available in the reception hall. I really enjoyed staying in this place thanks to friendly stuff and good service quality!

Both myself and my partner were very disappointed with our stay in Hotel Bernina and because of this we will be writing a letter to the hotel and I will copy the letter to you attaching some pictures we have taken. I look forward to hearing from you once you've received my letter.

A reasonably priced hotel, great for a short stay in Milan. Right next to the central station (not itself the prettiest area but that's irrelevant because the hotel is right beside the metro to bring you into town...or you can walk). Friendly staff, internet access. Rooms are small but facilities are good.

Small rooms half of them without views. I was located next to the old elevator, which made noise until 24h00 and from 5h30 in the morning on. Receptionists unfriendly tried to make me pay 13,5 Euro for mini bar consumption, although I drank nothing. No luggage storage room : the luggages are left in the lobby without any supervision.

This is the best choice ever!!! Try having a problem as I did (I had my credit card stolen two days before my arriving)and so, my reservation had been cancelled!! Not only the concierge employee IMMEDIATELY found us a room (a very tiny little one, this is for sure, but not knowing the hotel to know the CC number I've provided wasn't valid was my fault at all...)but offered himself SPONTANEOUSLY to call the other hotels I've booked to inform the problem and provide a new booking! This was amazing. The service in this hotel is a RITZ quality. In other words: if you're a real traveller looking for a clean, warm room with a highly efficient staff, BERNINA is your choice!!

Requested 2 Double Rooms, but got 2 Twin Rooms. Good value if you're after something cheap (hotel bar and mini bar aren't cheap though) and cheerful. Within a couple of minutes of the main railway station and an underground stop. Breakfast isn't great, but there's a McDonald's close by!

Comparing with others same categories hotel and considering the special offers and price the double room is good and convenient to accomodate 2 people. Service offered is good. Breakfast is good. The Bernina hotel is recommmend to stay short time in Italy and can be used as base to know other citys because is easy to move around by train.

The triple room was not convenient to accomodate 3 people : very tiny, no air-conditioning, very small bathroom (shower approx.50x50cm)and old fashioned; the reception hall has been renovated and is nicely decorated (as shown on the website), but the rest of the hotel is old fashioned with holes in carpet of corridors. Service offered is reasonable. Breakfast is mediocre. In conclusion the Bernina hotel does not meet the standards of a 3star rated hotel and we would not recommmend this hotel to anyone.
