Close to everything you need. Very quiet. Very friendly. From what I know now about Italy having spent 9 days there, this is a very solid for 3-star hotel. You really don't need anything better unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel.

It was the first time I stayed at Hotel Ascot and the first time I was in Milan. The occasion was my husband's 50th birthday. The rooms were ok and we very much appreciated that we could open the window. We were really disappointed about breakfast. Selection was poor and at 10 o'clock there was practically nothing left such as fresh bread, scrambled eggs, salami (no salami in Milan - what a shame !!!).

Good basic hotel, more business like than I usually like in Italy, I prefer the more traditional hotels in town centers in historic building. Good location (which is why I booked it) and basic overall stay. Less than enthusiastic review is based more on my disappointment with Milan in general. Milan lacks the charm of many of the other cities I've stayed in Italy. Just like visiting NY or any large city. I'd save my time and go to another city, but if you are going to be in Milan, the Ascot (a Best Western Hotel) is a solid performer.

We really liked the hotel. The hotel is located near the main attractions. We didn´t like the plastic courtain in the bathroom, it could be a glass window. The staff was quite polite and helpful. We´ll certainly go back again to the hotel.

The location of this hotel is excellent. However, the room is small as 4 star hotel. The bath room is awfully small, no bath tub. I would say the room quality is 3 star hotel or less.

The hotel was very nice although was tricky to find from the map off website. My room was right next to the elevator so thank goodness I was tired as the noise of the lift going up and down would have normally kept me awake. The breakfast was really good I thought.

Good location, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast, pretty good hotel overall. My only complaint was a crappy shower curtain that let the bathroom flood every time you use the shower.

The staff couldn't do enough for us. They booked our next hotel for us at a great rate (better than the internet), gave us good directions and recommendations. Could smell the cleanliness of the room as you walked in. We were a bit put off as we first drove in, however the service and the delicious breakfast made it a great place to stay.

Although somewhat drab from the outside, the Hotel Ascot is so well located and so well priced that we quickly overlooked the (lack of) decoration in the hotel. The rooms were impeccably clean, the bathrooms spacious and the staff friendly. Breakfast buffet had everything. With the Duomo a 7-minute walk away and a safe parking garage across the street, why stay anywhere else?

The hotel is actually a Best Western hotel with however, a much higher quality standard than the typical Best Westerns in the U.S. The cab ride from the central train station to the hotel cost around 11 euro, but we found out that there is metro station 5 minutes away from the hotel. Overall, We were very satisfied with our stay there.

We ordered two double rooms, and we got two appartments far from the hotel. We had to use 4 diferent keys to open and close doors on our way to our rooms. With children it was not very nice, and in case of fire it is not safe to challenged to find four different kjeys to be able to leave the rooms. It our only bad experience with accomodation we find through venere.com Really disapointing

The Ascot was close to the underground which took us many places we wnted to go. We could also walk to the Duomo and Galleria, which was about 10 minutes away. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They even had coffee and rolls for us when we had to leave at 5:00 in the morning for the airport.

The hotel was very nice for the price. I did not realize that the hotel was a Best Western. From the website I thought it would be a quaint Bed and Breakfast but it was more like an American Best Western Hotel, which was fine but not what I expected.

Nice hotel, but a bit disappointed in the room. Whilst there was nothing wrong, it seemed a bit less than expected for a superior room, particularly in size.

Stayed in mid January 2004 - very nice stay. The hotel is nice, well priced, and in a great location. Literally 10 minute walk to the Duomo, on three tram lines, 5 minutes from the Metro, and a 10 minute walk from the main shopping street (not the designer one). Slight issue with water supply as we arrived in the hotel but we were fully informed when we checked in and it was resolved within a couple of hours. Staff checked every room twice to ensure water was running properly. Believe it was due to works on the street. Breakfast was nice - typically continental with ham and cheese, but also toast, cakes and a choice of cereals. Were able to leave our luggage on the last day until we had to head for our flight. Room was spacious with a queen-sized bed and staff were helpful when asking directions etc. Would use it again if visiting Milan.

An average hotel, better suited to business users. The air-conditioning was struggling in 40 degree heat. The reception staff were very skilled in many languages.

It's certainly a pleasant place to stay for a short period of time, especially if you are travelling by yourself. Although the single room is relatively smaller (super smaller compared to hotels elsewhere I've ever been in other nations), the settings have made the nuance of simplicity and comfort, the two basic elements to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. There is one particular Hotel Attendant who is very knowledgable and very helpful in explaining all types of questions you asked him with fluency in English (something you rarely get in Italy)and remarkable efficiency. A very memorable short time spent in Milano!

Anything happened with my comments I wrote some time ago concerning the Ascot hotel, thus I try it again. The information according to venere.com correspond to the real situation. The hotel is situated very good (near to the Milan cathedral, castle, etc.) The service is very good, the staff very friendly. I would advise to enjoy the Breakfast/Buffet in Ascot as well, really great to start a day with such a breakfast. The only thing I have to mention is that for carparking you will have to pay extra. Carparking is not included in the hotel price as you have to park your car in a municipal park garage, only about 10 metres away from the hotel. With the hotel stamp you will receive a 20% discount on the park garage fee. The stay in Ascot was great, we had a great time!
