I liked the place, but as others before me have noted, it is extremely noisy. I had earplugs so sleeping was no problem at all, but if you have a light sleep make sure you don't get a room towards the street! But all the rest is great: the baths are clean, the team is friendly, the place seems to be safe, and there is a nice balcony to the back of the house, that is nearly like a little oasis! Overall, I'd come again!

We are satisfied with our stay. But two drawbacks: You have to climb a few stairs to get to the reception desk. Not very convenient with heavy luggage. The access from the street is also poor, because of heavy traffic and no pedestrian passage. Also, the wifi internet connection didn't work. But that was probably temporarily.

THE WORST hotel I have EVER stayed in! Complete misrepresentation on website. It is housed in an abandoned, filthy, crumbling building! This place should be "condemed". Please do NOT be a sucker like I was and end up here~! Be warned 76 stairs ... NO lift! A broken bed with springs covered by sheet of masonite! TV so old it was unwatchable, electrical sockets falling off walls.Broken bedside lamp. Furniture from "trash n NOT treasure". No sleep possible due to incessant noise of sirens all nights. Pleasant, kind staff ...and highly embarrassed I imagine.I had a young student friend (living in Milan) come to meet me me here. I was hugely emabarrassed. She told me that she had stayed in poor class "hostels" FAR better than this . When I told her I was paying 62-65 Euros per night, she was horrified! Only saving "graces', kind staff & pleasant breakfast. Only reason I stayed was that I was ill when I arrived with 2 very heavy suitcases & thought of negotiating 76 stairs once again...more than I could cope with!

First time at ABC, good location but on the ring road around inner Milan and very noisy at night until 3 AM. Room was spacious and dark, with amenities in Mussolini style but certainly adaquate for a central short stay downtown. The desk folks were very nice and helpful.

I barely slept 10 minutes the 4 nights I stayed here - right on a busy street en route to the hospital (plenty of sirens at all hours) with only single glazing. Very gloomy spartan room, almost prison cell-like and chilly. Terrible lighting! Near to trendy bars of Porta Ticinese area and at least the busy traffic meant I felt safe walking back late at night. Overall, I couldn't afford anything better in Milan but even as a budget hotel in an expensive city the ABC is pretty dire. In one word: depressing!

The ABC Hotel is very close to the University of Milano, therefore I would recommend to young, budget travellers willing a comfortable place to stay overnight. Since I had been in summer, my room was not equipped with airconditioning, therefore I would recommend to provide AT LEAST an electric fan. Also, I had some trouble with mosquitos, that are quite famous in Milan.. After all, there is a good quality - price ratio, therefore I would recommend it.

I would not recommend this hotel. The accomodations are quite old and well worn - my bedspread had seen better days, and there was a small hole in the door patched with tape. The hotel was clean enough, but NOT comefortable - I killed 10 mosquitos in my bedroom the first night, and thus had a great deal of trouble sleeping. The street outside is quite loud - you will need earplugs if you are on this side. Overall, I was strongly not impressed.

This place is on the 2rd floor without lift, and the corridor connected from the entrance on ground floor looks quite dark and gloomy in late night when we first arrived there, yet actually the room, with two doube beds and a shower room, is quite cosy because it faces a small alley rather than the noisy street. Only the handle of its shower room is broken. The breakfast bar is on the top floor with an samll outdoor roof garden. Although they only provide cresents, bread, fruit juice and coffee there, it is cheerful to have breakfast in a sunny morning there.

We think that only the clients who are staying for a short period of time should choose this hotel. It is in close proximity to the city centre, only 10 min on foot. The major problem was the fact that the bathroom -at least ours- was outside the room. Other than that the employees were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was satisfying. Generally, for 2-3 days was fine.

The hotel is located on the second floor of the regular dwelling, so it may be a problem for visitors with heavy luggage - there is no lift. The place is very noisy even with closed windows but one can survive for a days. Upon arranging a taxi one should remember to wait on the other way of the street since there is no chance to park in front of the hotel. Very close to major Milan tourist attraction.

Zeer goede ligging in het centrum van Milaan, goedkoop, proper, karaktervol oud, behoorlijk versleten, vriendelijk personeel, prachtig ontbijtterras. Zeer aangenaam verblijf gehad. Wel een aan drukke straat, dus als je een onrustig slaper bent, vraag je beter een kamer aan de achterzijde.

ABC is at the good location. I took taxi to from train station to the hotel because of my heavy luggage. It costed me less than 10 euro. You can take metro from airport or train station to hotel easily. The only problem for me was how to carry my big suitcase to upstairs!! So, be aware ABC hotel has no lift!! One of girls at reception helped me with my big luggage. The staff are friendly. My room is a bit small without bathroom, but of course it is reasonable size comparing the price I paid. I didn't find any difficulties to share the bathroom with others. The room and bathroom were clean during my stay. Another problem was from the people living next to me. They were a group of young people, so they made too much noise at night. Of course, you can't avoid this situation happening during your travelling. If you are looking for the budget hotel, I think ABC is the one you can go for.

It is the worst hotel I have stayed in my life. I had a triple room and was small, the private bath had no heater, there were no towels and I had to go for them instead of having somebody bring them to me.Forget about having somebody call you after midnight. The lady attending during night would hang up on them (she is rude and disrespectful). There is no elevator and the hotel starts on the 3rd floor (no help provider). Venere should take this hotel out of their web page! The only good comment I have is for the lady attending during days on weekdays (receptionist) and the nice lady serving breakfast.

L'hotel si trova al terzo piano di un condominio senza ascensore. Le stanze sono fredde, rumorose e poco curate. La colazione è scarsa. La finestra del bagno è molto bassa e senza protezione, quindi pericolosa per chi si sporge.

Reception employes are not so kind. The bedroom was very old and poorly furnitured, windows so old that wind came in with no effort and traffic noise was so loud that it seemed to be on the street. The tables in the breakfast bar were always dirty, the breakfast was poor and as things finished (sugar, serviettes and so on) were not placed again.

The hotel is definitely a bit frayed on the edges, but clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We reserved a room for two couples, but they put us in two separate rooms for the same price. I’ve seen other comments complaining that the rooms were too cold. We stayed the first tweekend in January, and we were very comfortable. There is a small, terraced cappuccino bar on the second level [they add the coffees to your hotel bill]. We brought our dog. Before we booked the room, we looked online [not venere.com] for more details about ABC’s pet policies and saw that they allow dogs. They did not specify on the website what SIZE dog they allow and were a little shocked to see our 90lb. pooch. We should have called the hotel directly, but because of our shyness with the language, we took the easy way out. They gave us a room with a terrace and said she had to stay outside. We ended up dragging her all over town with us, which wasn't much fun. Most travellers won't be in this situation, so I still recommend the hotel. The neighborhood is safe, which I hear isn’t always the case in Milan. The hotel probably won’t like me mentioning this, but there is also a large, fenced dog park about a block up the street.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel November 24-27. We flew into Bergamo and took a shuttle bus to Milans main city center it cost 12 euro for two people. Then took a taxi to the hotel it cost only 10 euro. Everything was great and the location, we were able to walk to all the sites with out using public transportation of course with a good map. The hotel provided us a map.The only complaint we had was that the room was cold the heater didn't work very well. We did have 2 extra blanket to keep us warm. We didn't complain about the room being cold because we really weren't in the room long to notice we were out all day and came home at night to sleep. There is a great store around the corner of the hotel to buy cheese/bread your choice of lunch meat. I'd recommend staying in a room in the back not facing the street due to noisy cars. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast is not included in the price of the room, it consisted of expresso with crossiant for 4 euro each. The breakfast room upstairs was nice and cozy. I recommend taking a day trip to see Lake Como which only an hour a away the cost is 45 euro each, the tour was great. We found it on a flyer the agency I believed is called Zianni Viaggi. The weather this time of year for us was cold/rainy/snowy but the weather didn't stop us from touring the sites. I would come back and stay at this hotel in the Spring time.

Nice place albeit on a very noisy street. Service was pleasant, although a bit confusing upon our initial arrival (the hostess/concierge was somewhere up 3 floors and, after buzzing us in from the street, didn't call out to us so we could find her. We had to search a bit and almost thought we were in the wrong building!) The hotel is located on a side street a 5 minute walk from the nearest street car stop, and not much farther from the metro, so fairly convenient to Piazza Duomo, but not what I'd call "really close" to it.

ABC hotel is in a great location close to the interesting Porto Ticinese area and very close to the city centre. It is clean, safe simple yet comfortable, however a little noisy with traffic - something which is difficult to avoid anywhere in Milan. The communal terrace is lovely, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only "complaint" is that there is no elevator which was difficult for me as I had lots of luggage to take up 3 floors. Overall, I highly recommend ABC Hotel.

The problem is that the road which the hotel is on has nowhere to pull up, and so off around the block you go again, which is quite difficult in Milan. Really welcoming staff, and very helpful, but what a pity nearly everyone smoked heavily. It is walking distance to the Galleria, but expensive for what you get, even with this geographical advantage.

The staff at ABC was helpful and friendly. They tried to help in any way they could. The room was larger than I expected. It would have been nice to have air-conditioning but even without it, the mosquito nets should be a must. I consider it a little pricey (considering quality only).

The hotel ABC was good value for money, and quite near the centre of Milan (10-15 minutes'walk). However, it was placed on the Venere map as being about 2 minutes from Duomo Square, so we were disappointed by the position when we arrived. It is also on a very main road, so it is better to ask for a room at the back. However, it was very clean and spacious, with a nice (continental) breakfast on a pleasant terrace. The staff spoke good English, and were very helpful and efficient. We enjoyed our weekend there.
