The hotel is situated in a quiet area. You will need to see a map before you know where you are. But it is actually very near to the Il Domo and the shopping area. The hotel staffs are wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are very spacious. What you see in the picture is indeed how the hotel rooms looked like. A pity that they have a minimum guests staying. I would really recommend people to stay in this hotel.

My first stay there. Could have been ok, but room had a very bad toilet, very bad smell constantly coming from bathroom, even if you close the door. Needs fixing. Very small shower cabin, suitable only for a kid, no bath tub. Room is ok, location great - 2 min to Duomo.

I liked it because it was near to shopping areas near famous central city Piazza Dummo and also next to public transportation.

It was a great hotel for a getaway to Milan. It is in a side street next to the Duomo, and the location can't be beat. Small room but very clean and tastefully decorated. Helpful and friendly staff. Super price/quality relationship I would definitely recmmend staying here.

The hotel is quite dated and the rooms are fairly small. Our bathroom had a leak in the roof. The maid had a bit of an attitude and was quite unfriendly. The breakfast was pathetic, even the bread wasn't very fresh. Given the price though, can't really complain too much. The location is absolutely fantastic, right around the corner from Piazza Duomo with everything within walking distance. Overall, given we only had a short stay the hotel suited our purpose, but wouldn't recomend it if you're looking for a "romantic" experience or anything of the sort.

Very spacious room but unable to add another bed (because they don't have any extra beds) even though I think you could add another 2 beds in the room! Excellent location, very close to the Duomo and the metro system. Building exterior could use a new paintjob.

The hotel situation is great because it is hardly 300metres from the duomo and it is good enough if you just want a place to sleep and take a shower. It is a big hotel but old and old fashioned, cleanliness is hardly enough. If you compare price with situation it is fair because you are in the city cetre but if you compare it with the hotel rate it is not fair, I have been in venecia, rome and florence after milan and for the same proce and situation the hotels where much more conformable, with bathrobes in your room, great buffets at breafast more cleanlinness. I do not think that just for the situation the price is worthy. Service is OK, it is as if it had been a great hotel ten years ago but now it can not compare to new hotels at the same price.

This was my firsdt stay at the Grand Plaza in Milan. The hotel in itself is O.K. it is very clean extremely well located right behind the Duomo, travelleing for business alone I wanted to be in the center to be able to go out to dinner at night alone, on foot, and being able to come back to the hotel alone, I felt secure. But this only reason why this hotel is rated as a 4 stars is its closeness to the Duomo, otherwise it would be a 3 stars. The breakfast was terrible and boaring for 230euros a night you expect a better breakfast...

Fantastic location and excellent price for this level of quality. Only criticism was the poor view from our particular room over a grim courtyard, but at least it was really quiet and we only went there to sleep anyway! If I have to look for a fault, I guess the bathroom windows and the shower cabinet were a bit tatty and could do with changing, but that's about it. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and believe me I'm normally a very fussy person!

Centrally located (a block or two from the Duomo), business-like hotel. Plain hotel exterior hid what appears to be a recent interior renovation of the public spaces. Gave me a feeling of much French influence. Rooms were large, but the linens needed to be replaced. Bathrooms were small, with only a tiny shower (but still found room for a bidet). Couldn't find any English speaking stations on the TV, but plenty of Italian, French, and Spanish. Luckily, there was plenty to see and do just minutes from the hotel--its main attraction.

My wife and I only stayed one night. It was a shopping stop between Paris and Venice. This was the biggest European room I have stayed in. I just had a standard room. Everything was clean and looked up to date. Location is great just a block or two from the Duomo. Metro is very close by. There were rentovating the lobby area, but the bar had just been finished and it looks real nice.

we have jus returned from a weekend away a The Grand Hotel Plaza (Dec 05) and found the hotel to be excellent. It was only a few hundred feet away near the centre of the shopping area. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and bars near by.

Hotel is very central, Building is just ok but quite nice inside - the only thing we had to complain is the missing parking space which isn't provided by the hotel and there are no free parking possibilities in the surrounding. So we had to take the underground parking which is just in front of the hotel but quite expensive (about 24 Euros per day) but in the end the only possibility (public fee is about 1,2Euro per hour). My advice is if you travelling by car look at first for hotels which offers free parking.

This hotel was the best that we experienced in Italy--the room was huge and very quiet, as well as nicely fitted out. The breakfast buffet was also the most extensive and best served (really hot coffee and cappucino!). Hope to stay here next time we are in Milan.

The hotel is is an excellent location as it is only a few streets away from the impressive Piazza del Duomo - however it is quite a taxi ride away from Milan Central Station where the bus from the airport dropped us off - as it was a Saturday night we found it difficult to get a taxi - the taxis in Milan unlike other major European cities will not stop if you try and flag them down. The guide book I had bought with me had a number for a local taxi firm - I tried ringing but with my limited Italian and the taxi company's limited English we didn't get very far in trying to order a taxi - so we had to wait nearly a half hour before the first taxi pulled up in the taxi rank - not a good start as we were already tired from travelling. Most of the websites I visited prior to the trip to Milan said that most of the shops would not be open on a Sunday - I did not go to Milan's shopping district as we did not have the time but I did not find this to be the case as all shops within the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and surrounding area opened by 12 noon on the Sunday - just don't do what I did - fall in love with a gorgeous Gucci bag and forget your credit card! (I'd left it in the hotel safe along with my passport)

We thought this hotel was lovely. All the rooms at least on the 3rd floor had been renovated and were spacious by Italian standards. THe front desk people were extremely helpful at all times. The location can't be beat, although the front of the hotel is ordinary. The lobby is a little bit odd in terms of decor. All in all a great spot!!!

This hotel provided exactly the services required: a quiet, clean and comfortable room, right in the city center and at a reasonable price. I would return to the same hotel anytime when visiting Milan. There are two points I would like to mention: 1. Some rooms have bathtubs, others only showers. So state your preference when booking. 2. The breakfast buffet is, although a little bit better than in other Italian hotels, still forgettable. Go to the next bar for a cappuccino and brioche.

This is a typical old European Hotel. Spacious clean, rooms, European bath. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but its very nice inside and the location is great. Just around the corner from the Cathedral. Infact, you can ask for a room with a rooftop view of the Cathedral which is very nice. Breakfast was good. The only negative was that the elevator made some noise going up and downm, so if this is a concern, you should ask for a room away from the elevator.
