We stayed at this hotel in 2012 and liked it sufficiently to stay again this year. It is convenient for both main railway stations and a pleasant 20-minute walk into the historic centre. The standard rooms, facing the central well in the building, are a bit small and dark, but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Paying more for a superior room might be worth considering, but it's possible that a room at the front might be less quiet.

We chose this hotel for our three-night stay in Milan because it was reasonably close to both main railway stations, accessible to the city centre and within our price range. Milan is expensive and this hotel seemed to be a good compromise on price and quality. Many things about it were excellent - the front desk staff were charming, efficient and extremely helpful. The public areas were bright and cheerful and the breakfast was very good. However, our bedroom was quite small, and in comparison to the public areas the decoration was both rather dark and a bit dated. The bathroom was good, however. The window looked out onto a central well from which there was some noise at night, possibly from a bar next door. The room ventilation was not all that good, and air conditioning was not working. A room at the front might be better but then there might be traffic noise. Having said all that, we would probably stay at this hotel again as the advantages outweighed the disadvantages. But not in mid summer when the lack of airconditioning would probably make the room unbearable.

We had a 14 day holiday in Italy and all of our accommodations were great except for this hotel. We would not stay here again! Staff is friendly, but not accommodating. Won’t make change at front desk, can’t get you an iron (at least when we asked), and the hotel does not provide a computer and printer for boarding passes. They are helpful on providing directions. The rooms are small, and dark, not the cleanest rooms with some mold in the bathroom, and there is a step up to get in the bathroom. Door on bathroom was a plastic folding style. The rooms smell of smoke! If you are an adamant non-smoker you will not like these rooms. It was October and warm, but air conditioner did not work. When asked, the staff said it had been turned off because nights were cool. You have to sleep with windows open to cool the room off (no screens, but no problems with bugs) and because you are downtown it is noisy. So we don’t know if the hotel has air conditioning or not. Breakfast was good, offering scrambled eggs, beans, sausage, pastries, fruit, cereal coffee, espresso, and tea. Hotel is a good 20 minute walk to the center city, but is accessible by Metro or by taxi (about 10 euro). When we checked in the staff advised it was 90 euro to take a taxi to airport (they did suggest a more economical solution of taking a cab to the train station for under 10 euro and then take shuttle for around under 15 euro each), but on the morning we were to leave at 0500 taxi was now going to be 120 euro. With a little protest got it to 100 euro. Staff did offer suggestions on how to reduce transportation costs. We seriously considered checking out after first night (we stayed three), but we were tired, it was our last stop so we toughed it out. Again, we do not recommend this hotel. If you do stay here, check out iL Cinghiale Posso Viale Monte Grappa 6/a. Nice Wine Bar with good food offerings. Its out the front door of the hotel, to the right and not a five minute walk.

I recently stayed for 6 and a half days in this hotel. My co-travellers also stayed here. This hotel is conveniently located. Tops in cleanliness, and quietness. Small rooms. However there is no room service. Room needed more lighting. I felt it was bit too costly for the size and facilities offered. Moreover we were informed about the new tourist tax@night on reaching there. I wish there was a tea/coffee maker and complementary drinking water in the room. Water is free or complimentary in my country!

If you want to stay here, you need to know that you will find restaurants in the Via Gustavo Fara (off the Piazza Della Repubblica) – there's not much in the way of reasonably priced restaurants close to the hotel. WiFi is the dreaded Hotspot.

Staff welcoming and very professional. Good value for money and good location for Central Station and sight seeing. Good breakfast and choice. We were very glad of the air conditioning as it was hot in Milan. The decor of the room was rather dark but I expect this is because we are not used to all the bright sun! Hotel was very good. Advice for others - don't forget to pack mosquito repellant or buy in pharmacy. The city is alive with them when the sun goes down!

It takes only a few metro stops or simply a very nice 20-minute walk to reach the Duomo (that is the historical centre) of Milan from this hotel. So the location is perfect for a leisure vacation. A supermarket can be found right next to the hotel -- it's also very handy. The room was not a large one, but the space was definitely enough to stay there for 2 people for a week. The furniture was conservative, but was in style, and the equipments and the bathroom were absolutely fine. The buffet breakfast is generous and colourful. The room was quiet, air-conditioning was inserted. At the same time, it was not advicable to open the window throughout working hours, because the fan of the kitchen below brought smells from the kitchen to the room. My wife and me enjoyed our staying, and would be happy to return.

Enjoyed our overnight stay at the hotel. They have an excellent breakfast, best we had in France and Italy. Our only negative feedback is that although the hotel is close to the station the directions to the hotel when arriving by train is completely unsatisfactory. I also phoned the hotel for directions, but their directions took me away from the hotel. Make sure before arriving you have a good map and located the hotel. Apart from this it is an excellent stay. Please don't go to Garibaldi's (not part of the hotel and not recommended by their staff, but recommended by another guest) for Dinner, they are extremely expensive and charge you for items you did not order. Please be advised.

The hotel was close to corso Como which is very trendy and there was a feeling of safety in the area. plus there is a supermarket the next door to the hotel which is helpful. The staff were great, especially Paco, who was very friendly and a good funny and happy person in a whole. The rooms are old but clean, but when I asked about the room in the photos the pink flowered wall room, I've been told that there isn't one like it. I arrived to a dark designed room and a bit noisy because it turned to the street, so I asked to move to a brighter and quieter one, and there was no problem, and the I made an early check in smoothly. The breakfast is nothing to hurry to, we preferred to go out and have coffee and brioche elsewhere. But all in all, it was a nice stay, think the room should have cost about 20 euros less.

The room was quite spacious and quiet due to the windows facing the inner court. The heating didn't work in the bathroom, however, the bedroom was warm enough to heat up the bathroom as well. The breakfast wasn't too rich but it's worth its price although the sausages were awful: they smelled disgusting.

Excellent place to stay for a city break. The best thing to say about hotel surroundings is the park nearby and Metro 3 min away. It takes you about 20 min. walking to the Duomo area. Our room facing the backyard was very quiet even when we slept with the window open. Breakfast ok. Staff very friendly. Being in Milano you should visit the Navigli area taking the Metro to Porta Genova.

My wife and I just returned from a five city tour of Italy. Our first night was at the Cervo. I've been to Europe, (and Italy) before so I didn't expect a large room. On the positive side, we were greeted by a very friendly host, our room was ready, it was clean, with a clean and fully equipped washroom. The room was quiet and the breakfast room was open, airy and clean. The breakfast (included with the room, which, based on European prices can equate to a value of 15-20 euros per couple) included cold cereals, a variety of pastries, toast, cheese and ham, juice, and coffee or tea. On the negative side, for North Americans beware of the size of suitcase you are bringing as the elevators are the smallest you will encounter. My wife had a mid-size suitcase and I had a rolling carry-on case. With the two of us and our luggage we had to squeeze in. It may seem like a small thing, but if you are travelling with two cases each, and have just flown 8-10 hours, have taken a bus or train on top of that and a taxi to the hotel the last thing you really want to do is to take multiple trips in the elevator to get to your room. This is not unique to the Cervo. In fact, some of the elevators were smaller. The only other negative was that we had understood the Cervo was in walking distance (400m) of the train and we needed to take a taxi as it was definitely further than that. Another little tidbit of helpful info would be that wnen locals say a destination is 5-10 minutes away, you must count on 3 times that unless you are familiar with the city streets, as it is very easy to get misguided. And don't be shy or too proud to ask for directions. Overall, based on our expectations, the Cervo was a great place to stay (8/10).

The situation of the hotel is perfect, just in the centre of Milan and close to "Republica"'s underground. The room was quite good, although our windows were overlooking the inner patio, the bathroom had a sliding door and the double bed was in fact 2 twin beds together. The staff is very professional and the breakfast is ok. Very good quality/price. If you go to Milan, for sure "hotel Cervo" is a good option :)

Good location. The hotel is not close to the Duomo on foot but it is in the city and not far from the Repubblica subway station. Milano Centrale (The train station) is only 1 subway station from Repubblica and the Duomo station is only 3-4 stations on the other direction. The hotel was a little expensive for me but Milan seems to be a very expensive city. On my next visit to Milan I would stay at this hotel again but I will probably do more research and try to look for something cheaper with the same quality.
