First impressions of the hotel are the reception. In this case, a guy called Christian, who has a very unfortunate superior demeanour. After checking out of the hotel but waiting in reception for our taxi we went to use the toilet. This guy chased my daughter and I into the toilet and asked if we we guests! I have used the hotel in the past because of its convenient location, the rest of the staff are pleasant and the hotel facilities are adequate for a short stay. But this is not the first experience of this guy's attitude having irritated me and this last episode has made me reconsider staying at the Carlyle Brera again

A very good hotel to stay at, it is located in the Brera district which as lots of bars and restaurante nearby and is also very good for shopping. The Duomo area is about a 20-25 minute walk but it is a pleasant walk and there are plenty of shops to browse en-route. Our room was comfortable and big enough for our purposes.

It's in a very nice area but I was annoyed by a mosquito biting me in the room. The tv free view box didn't work properly even after it was looked at so I gave up. So mostly the tv for offer was in Italian. Breakfast very good and the staff welcoming in the morning. Not the greatest if you don't speak Italian. Internet free but patchy in signal, not the greatest as i needed it for work. You can hear through the walls to the other rooms very easily. I wouldn't say it is 4 star more like 3.

Very pleasantly surprised about this hotel. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and recently renovated. In fact I thought it was a new hotel. The location is unbeatable. Walking distance to Duomo, shopping district and everything else! Plus it is only a few steps away from a Metropolitana stop (Moscova), which itself is only 2 stops on the direct line from Cadorna Station (where the Malpensa Express goes to). Plus there are many wonderful little trattoria nearby, as well as trendy bars and restautrants. I will definitely go back to this hotel.

Modern, very comfortable rooms with plenty of space, clean bathroom, and nice furnishings. Great breakfast included. Bed was typically hard, but extra pillows provides more comfort. Quite a good deal for the price! Excellent location is steps from Metro line 3 (2 stops from Milan central station) and half block from popular piazza with bars and restaurants (and market); also close to Brera museum and easy walk to Castello Sforzesco. Staff is straight-forward, nice, and helpful, but not fake. Wireless internet worked in lobby, though not so well in room. All in all, I will definitely stay here when I return to Milan.

All in all a good experience: nice, clean, modern, spacious. The room was furnished a little bit dark for my liking, but there was strong lighting to make up for it. Easy to find and reach, very conveniently located just at the exit from the Moscova Metro station.

My friends and I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We made use of the 'pillow menu', and the jacuzzi bath was a welcome surprise. The location is fantastic, many bars within walking distance, and we highly recommend the 'bread and breakfast' bakery. 6 euros for a glass of wine and an all you can eat buffet in the evening...

Some rooms out of WiFi reach. Even if you forget, Laundry may remind your room number with largely written NUMBER on the shirts; this was not happening until Nov/2007. Thanks to competition, many of surrounding bars, pizzerias, restaurants offer good quality. Intensita' di WiFi depende da camera. Non dimentichi il numero della camera perche' biancheria ti segna il numero su tutte le camicie. Si mangia bene in zona, grazie a concorrenza.

The guests in the room next to ours might as well have been in the room with us. We could hear every word of their conversation, which was upsetting. Also, dividers of some sort should be installed between balconies . . . to provide some semblance of privacy.

Visited Milan for only 2 days during a recent weekend w/ 2 friends. The location of the hotel was just perfect. On a quiet street but still close to the center (10min by walk on cosy streets). One of the most popular pubs and nice restaurants just a few steps away. 15-20min walk till the Duomo and main attractions. Excellent service. Breakfast included (continental but enought choise till 10:30am). The only issue we experienced there was no sign where is the Hotel parking - we found by mistake thinking it was a pay parking on the other street behind the hotel. Do not be surprised if the car key is taken away from you until your last day stay. We felt like movie stars whose car is parked by a Boy.

I have never been so rudely treated by a hotel staff before. One front desk attendant was extremely nasty. They were dishonest on two occasions and one staff member needs anger management classes. Great location, just in the Brera quarter. Just outside the hotel there is an underground station. Large room, too expensive internet connection (€ 5 per h) and there is not any printer available. The employees at the bureau are not so gentle. The location is too good and so I'll be back there.

The location is excellent in terms of accessability. We were at the edge of the Brera district, giving access to many good restaurants. The Metro is just outside the door of the hotel. The area is nice, and we fully recommend the hotel with one major reservation - there is no airconditioning and the heating was unbearable some nights. We were unable to turn it off. You can open the window, but then you have the traffic noise. If this doesn't put you off, the breakfast is excellent; we found the staff courteous and professional; the location although quiet is still very central and Milan is certainly worth the visit.

The hotel is in a great central location, rooms were clean but there was an unpleasant odour coming from the bathroon .. we suspect it was the biddet. The inclusion of an all you can eat breakfast buffet was a great bonus, lots of fruit to make up for all the breads and pastas that you end up eating throughout the rest of your meals in the city. Service at front desk was kind of abrupt but I think is to be expected of the culture.

The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side but well designed and comfortable, although the ventilation could have been better in one case. The location of the hotel is excellent---right next to a metrostop---with lots of good shopping in the neighborhood. The breakfast is excellent, including scrambled eggs and bacon in addition to the standard fare; the coffee and hot water were not always hot enough, however. The staff was competent and helpful if a bit too "big city professional" for our taste. The eventual bill was a few euros higher than the quoted price; we did not inquire as to the reason for that, but it did not involved any extras such as minibar or telephone charges.

Our stay at the Carlyle Brera was excellent. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. The location is fabulous. Restaurants and interesting shops surround. The Pinoteca is a short walk, while La Scala, the Galleria, and Duomo are a nice stroll away. In addition, the hotel is close to the Cadorna station where the train from Malpensa terminates. (We walked, with our bags, but I would recommend a cab (e10-15.)) The staff was courteous and efficient. I think we got a great deal on a fine hotel through your website. I stayed again at the hotel while passing through on my way out of Italy. I have to say the fifth floor room away from the elevator was quieter than the 1st floor.
