Delicious breakfast in delicate breakfast room and a nice loacition in the Navigli area are my main reasons for choosing this hotel. Staff are polite and welcoming. We stayed in a superior room. I have stayed at 9 different hotels i Milano. This is definately the one I would recommend. Still, rates do vary a lot.

It is a great location, but does not have much character although clean and tidy. The canal area near the hotel is bustling and attractive - except for the graffiti which is everywhere, a real shame, such lovely buildings. They were doing work on the hotel when we were there which we were not told about until we arrived. I ignored the people on trip advisor who said it was noisy, but they were right. There is a great cocktail bar opposite the hotel that goes on until very late, then the bottles get emptied , then the road cleaners come. On our second night there was no let up, we may as well have slept on the street ! The nights either side were not great, but ok. Breakfast was good and service excellent, there is not much life in the hotel after breakfast it seems. No one having drinks at the bar, and no one outside in the seating area, so if you want a hotel with life in it, maybe should give it a miss. If you want a hotel in a good location and don't mind the noise, it is very handy. Perhaps they have quieter rooms on the other side of the hotel - ask for one.....It would really benefit from a pool and a bit of atmosphere. Milan is lovely , but Arthotel is a bit pricey for what is on offer.

We had dinner at the trattoria Le Vigne, along the Naviglio on the way to the metro station. It was superb!!! The customers were mostly friends and family, but the food was typical of an upscale traditional restaurant with an eye to new touches. Unbelievable. We got the recommendation from the hotel staff, extremely competent and pleasant without sounding unnaturally friendly. The breakfast served at the hotel was simply scrumptious, as well as extremely fresh and varied.

The only thing that bodered me, was that fact that I had to pay a very expensive price for the internet access!

It was low season and the rate was really cheap in comparison with the service offered. Very good hotel and location.

Great location with lots of restaurants, close to Metro, with short ride to most places in Milan, clean, enough space in room if single, quiet street, no vehicle noise. Will definetely stay there again in future.

I have stayed at Art Hotel Navigli during 17-21 September 08. That was not actually my first choice but since due to too many exhibitions, shows taking place during that period i have to book the available hotel through Venere. I was in Milan for a shoe/bag exhibition. We were two people – me and a business collegue. I do work as an Merchandise Manager at a reputable fashion brand and i do travel very often to different countries all around the world. What happened at this hotel has shocked me and i have a big dissappointment. Friday night (19 september) me and my collegue ( who had another single room at your hotel ) entered the hotel . my collegue actually came after me as he was paying for the taxi. Hotel's reception guy has asked me my room number and got my answer as ‘310, why ?’ he answered ,it was his job. I was amazed but didnt say anything. Then he called me from my room and asked if there was someoneelse in the room or not. I didnt answer and he said he would call the police if i didnt answer. He said since the room was booked under 1 person i couldnt let anyone in. I said i dont need to answer this question and i would call the police... Since it was Friday night i couldnt actually reached anyone from the police department but then my collegue from the other room (316) went downstairs to ask him to apologize as he was being very rude. He refused – ( by the way my collegue says he was drunk ) First of all this treatment is totally unacceptable for a 4 star international hotel. I have stayed all around the world and no reception person asked my room number at the entrance. Secondly if this is being questioned i would have a doubt of the hotel renting the rooms to such clients. In all cases the situation occured is unacceptable. We are decent people and travel for business. Have also communicated with the hotel management to compansation of this rude behaviour but i couldnt get a proper answer. the manager says

Location excellent near rejuvenated area with more than enough restaurants and bars to choose from. Good public transport nearby - trams, metro. Free car parking in hotel garage a bonus. Stay was marred by the work being done in the hotel with no public areas available except for a couple of seats in reception. No apology or discount offered.

Good location at the heart of Navigli, with fast connection with Metro to downtown, and if needed it has even possibility for safe parking. Generally I liked the Hotel.

We stayed here with two small children (5 and 1 years old) for 2 nights. In general everything was very good. Room was quite but could be cleaner. Very good breakfast. Nice surroundings with many places where to eat. Also very convinient that the hotel has its own indoor garage. Very good rate between price and quality. The only thing I was slightly disapointed that in our triple room double bed consisted of two single beds. We liked the hotel and hope to stay there next time when we come to Milan.

It's fine for a one-day stay in Milan. We stayed there so we could check out the city the day before flying out from Malpensa airport. Location is great, near a lot of great restaurants in the Navigli district, and easy walking distance to a subway stop that takes you right into the city center. Also important is that there is free parking in the garage below the hotel, and it's very easy to get to and from the highway. The hotel itself is nothing special; it seemed depressingly 1970's Eastern European on the inside, and could seriously use some brightening up. The inside of the room smelled of cigarette smoke (apparently they don't have any specifically non-smoking rooms), but it ventilated quickly when we opened the windows. The room itself is quite large by European standards, although the bathroom is the typical tiny Italian hotel bathroom. The staff was polite and efficient if not overly-friendly; we didn't need to interact with them much other than check-in and check-out. So in sum, not someplace I'd stay if I were spending a week in Milano, but just fine for an overnight stay.

This is a wonderfully renovated hotel with bright clean rooms and a great value. But beware the staff is very disorganized. They lost the keys to our room, blamed us for the mistake, and then did not have an extra set of keys to let us into our room. We were stuck in the hallway for 1/2 hour until an extra key turned up. When they discovered that housekeeping had in fact lost our keys, they did not apologize for the inconvenience, but instead made up excuses.

A fine structure, although in need of some restoration,in a growing, reasonably central district, which offers comfortable accomodation at a fair price.Flaws:1)noisy and difficult to regulate heating/air conditionng. 2),and more serious, reception personnel in need of total re-training!!!

Very good value for money! The hotel is very clean and nice, the breakfast could have been more diversified, vis-a-vis the hotel there is a restaurant and a mini-market, in case you need something..The area is in construction at this time, the banks of the river are being restructured, that's the reason why it doesn't look very nice, but I believe that soon it will be like in the pictures from the site. I'll stay here again for sure, when I visit Milan.

My wife and I had managed to get tickets for an opera at La Scala, but unlike the other friends in the group, had left flight and hotel arrangements to the last minute and thru lack of time ended up flying in the same morning and out again the following day. Given that our date coincided with a Trade Fair of some sort - apparently not unusual in Milan - hotel space was limited, and having spent some hours trawling though the few options available (Venere is absolutely brilliant in publishing unabashed customer comments and it is for the reason that anyone who uses them must inject their all and I am about to go on at such length!) we'd picked this hotel on the basis of the truly excellent and up-front comments of previous guests. It is in no way central, we knew that, lies a good 20/30 minutes walk south of the Duomo et al; and though the double room, separate sitting room and luxurious bathroom were truly fab, we expected a hell of a lot more than we got for a supposedly 4 star hotel costing 200€ a night. Tepidly but sympatheticly greeted on arrival by a clearly stressed out duo in Reception, by the time we got round to ordering a taxi in the early evening the only one that remained had clearly far too much to do and despite having ordered the cab from our room, it ultimately took nearly 90 minutes for not just one to turn up but two - who then engaged in a heated exchange as to whose job it was... Much later, on return (it should be noted that Milan packs up EARLY - ie. it's impossible to eat anywhere decent after midnight) - starving, we hung our request for what looked like a spectacular breakfast on the exterior door handle before turning in and well within the 3 or 4 a.m. deadline; but when we woke up -late - nothing had turned up, our order/request was still dangling outside, the breakfast room was closed, nobody in Reception seemed to give a damn, and we left. This is clearly a great hotel if you're not in a hurry, but - taking into account

With the exception of one gentleman on one of the night shifts, the front desk personnel were uniformly surley and unhelpful at best and incompetent at worst. We got the feeling that everytime we asked a question, we were being a nuisance. When it was time to check out, it turned into an ordeal. The staff had nothing ready to make it orderly and quick. Something got messed up in their billing and instead of being apologetic to us, they rudely told us to wait while they checked others out before completing our checkout. All of this would have been easily avoidable if someone had put the stuff in order the night before, like many other hotels do routinely. We got the feeling the hotel caters more to business groups rather than individual tourists, and service to individuals suffers as a result. The rooms were ok, but nothing noteworthy. For individual tourists, we do not recommend the Nikken. For similar money, one could probably get comparable accomodations at a better location (the Naviglio's charms were lost on me) and much better costomer service at a different hotel.

We were greeted like long lost relatives and made very welcome. The underground parking was spacious, very secure - and free. The modern rooms are large, well appointed and spotless. The air conditioning worked silently all the time - if you wanted it. The Navigli district, where all the restaurants are is 3 minutes away round the corner. I will definitely use this hotel again. One word of warning for Milan in the Summer make sure you have insect repellant, the mosquitoes are vicious!

One of the few hotels I would imagine are in this great part of Milan, the Naviglio. The area is full of restaurants and bars frequented by what seemed mainly Italians. The canal was being worked on and so had been drained, but as it was Xmas it looked great with all of the Xmas lights. The hotel is just on a side street literally just off the canal, not far from the Genova metro station. The hotel room was spacious, with its own separate living area. It is a new 4-star hotel, the surroundings are very nice, everyone was friendly and the continental breakfast was great. The hotel is right in the middle of everything and was surprisingly quiet at night. 30 minutes walk to the city centre, we could not have asked for better. Will definitely be back!

Nothing wrong to say about this hotel. Everything was okay during my stay (except the room wasn't ready when I arrived, I had to wait for half an hour). Another small problem was that, as I had a room near them, the lifts were very noisy during the night. Despite this the Nikken is very well situated near a beautiful canal, the underground station and it's surrounded by very good and inexpensive restaurants (even with live music). Go there and you won't regret it!
