About Andreola Central Hotel

hotel front view Hotel Andreola Central Hotel hotel front view The Andreola Central Hotel is one of the most elegant properties in Milan, located in a beautiful historical building, recently restored from top to bottom, just 300 metres from Milano centrale railway station and close to the air terminal.

The recent restoration creates a unique hotel, where elegance and style go side by side with a technological approach to a full range of services, creating a prototype of modern hospitality.

Among the many services offered are a small fitness room, a reading lounge, two Internet cafés and a bar. Offering breathtaking city views, the hotel's 6th floor restaurant, Ristorante Stradivari, offers outstanding cuisine at reasonable prices. Venere clients will receive a 10% discount off all meals.

Fine hotel, well-located close to train station. Warm reception, friendly staff, rooms clean and comfortable with spacious bathrooms. Air conditioning was rather noisy however, and there didn't seem to be any means to switch it off in the room. Good breakfast selection. Would recommend and use again.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights. Location was excellent - close to central train station (for trips to the lakes and neighbouring cities) and metro (for trips into Milan itself). Hotel was clean and comfortable. Recommended.

The Andreola was clean, quiet,& convenient with friendly well trained staff. The hotel is a little old fashioned with old fashioned virtues, but a little elderly and tired lacking modern facilities. Still good value for the rate.

Clean and very well maintained rooms that are close to the Stazione Centrale and Metro. Excellent buffet breakfast including abundant assortment of breads, pastries, cakes, tarts, fruits, cereals, eggs, sliced meats and cheeses. Room had hardwood floors and double sink in the tiled bathroom. A/C worked well. Desk attendants helpful and spoke functional English. Arrived at Malpensa, took Express shuttle to Stazione Centrale and short five minute walk to hotel. Above average accomodations in a very convenient location.

great, friendly and helpful staff...was not crazy about Milan...rather a glum city with a bunch of petty crime...but really liked this hotel and would stay here again in a second. Thought the friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Breakfast was great and the shuttle to the airport is close by to the hotel

Our stay was enhanced by the services provided by the Hotel Andreola. We traveled with two friends and I know that they were very happy with the accomodations. The staff was very helpful with our needs and helped advise us on dinning places and places of interest. I would recommend the Andreola to any of my friends visiting Milano.

Shopping, sightseeing holiday with neice 29,daughter 15.Due to proximity of hotel to central station various day trips are possible. We went to Como, took the lake trip, had lunch in Bellagio and did a little shopping. On the way back we had dinner in Como & took the 23.30 train back to Milan. Will definetly go back but this time to stay in the Como vicinity and do a day trip to Milan, this will be more relaxing. We met a family ,parents & children 3 & 4 years they will also be back next year, they had a ball.In all the trip was very enjoyable for the 3 of us despite our age differences.I would not recommend visiting Milan for shopping in August as most of the shops are closed all month,Spring or Autumn are perfect and much cooler for carring all those bags.I did manage to buy presents for my 10 year old son in the Ferrari shop, not to be missed boys.

Andreola offers excellent return for the money you pay. It is located right in the center of Milan, a block away from Central Train station and the Metro station. Rooms are nicely decorated, with plasma screen TV and marble bathroom. Reception is not particular friendly nor helpful, but Receptions from other hotels seems to behave the same way, so it may just be the way Milan is. I highly recommend Andreola to anyone who stays in Milan.

I think that you have quite a lot of dust in the carpets, curtains and that decorated part of the bed, which is vertical and turned to the wall. This condition is not acceptable for people with dust allergy. I suggest to clean the rooms with special cleansing machines using boiling watter.

The Andreola Central hotel is located close to the main train station in Milan (but we got to the hotel by a circuitous route - why not say that it is 50 metres behind the visible Hotel Bristol!). We paid €160 for a suite (room 714) and this was only €20-30 priced above their standard room rates. The room was fantastic and ca. 60m2. It was probably one of the best value rooms/price that we have had in two decades of travel. The suite was clean and very well presented with reasonable views on one side (the Duomo could be seen in the distance) and the facilities were all modern. We had breakfast in a slightly claustrophobic breakfast room but as the food was of a fine quality it didn't really matter. The location of the hotel beside the main train station means that one is very close to the metro and all interesting parts of the city. Overall, we can highly recommend this hotel and the suite that we stayed in. We always look closely at room prices to see if spending a bit extra means a much higher quality room.

We stayed here 6 nights. The hotel is very close to the train station which suited our needs for a side trip to Lake Como and easy access to the metro system. The neighborhood is a undergoing change, but we always felt safe walking back after dinner in the area. The breakfast in the morning was the best of any hotel we stayed at in Italy (6 during 2 trips). A wide array of fruit, eggs, breads, meats, cheese, pastries and juices. The one gripe is the overpriced wireless access (20euro/day).

Our first trip to Milan, a 3 day stay and could have used many more. We would have been happy to spend all our time in the lovely hotel but we made the usual tourist visits, of which da Vinci's "Last Supper" was the highlight. Access from the hotel to Milan Centrale Station was a 5 minute walk and thereafter the metro took us everywhere. Very easy transfer to Malpensa airport also via the railway station. The hotel restaurant's maitre d' treated us with great warmth and kindness and the menu was small but exquisite. We ate there each night of our stay and enjoyed every moment.

The room was spacious, clean and very quiet. One good point: the breakfast (with all what you wish and served by very pleasent waitress)but two negative remarks 1)absence of welcoming, some of the employees were not very pleasent at the reception; 2)the location (the central station area is a sort of 'asiatic quarter' with full of chinese and asiatic restaurants. I like japanese and chinese food but not really what you expect to find when travelling in the city of 'Osso buco', 'risotto alla milanese' or 'cotoletta milanese',...

A very good base for a short trip to Milan. Easy walking distance from the railway station and airport shuttle bus terminal. Excellent accomodation and a very good restaurant (even if the head waiter was rather oleaginous). A rather seedy area at night but then all such vicinities close to railway stations tend to be! Walking distance to shopping within my budget unlike the Designer shops elsewhere in the city. Very helpful staff. My wife is planning to take a group of ladies for a shopping trip next spring! They will stay at this hotel.

I've stayed at the Andreola Hotel several times already. It has always been a pleasant experience, whether on a professional trip or just to do shopping. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location: within a 3-mins walk from the Centrale station (green line and yellow line) as well as a 5-10 mins walk from Corso Buenos Aires (shopping!) and the red line. The neighbourhood does seem a little bit seedy at first but after that first impression everything's only better. The offering is very good value for the money they ask - breakfasts are a feast (although some years ago they were even better - now they've cut on 'crudo' and mozarella balls ;>), the lobby and corridors are clean and nice for the eyes (even if a little bit kitchy-gold'n'marble, but that's their style), there are 2 elevators (and a 3rd one at the back) getting you upstairs and a posh restaurant at the 6th floor. I cannot recommend the food (haven't tried) but the prices aren't very tempting. The double-rooms come in two varieties (at least as far as I've had the chance to learn) - the front (facing Via Scarlatti) and the back (facing the inner patio). I certainly recommend the front ones - they have square bathrooms that seem a bit bigger (with a window if I recall properly) and a wardrobe placed neatly in an annex. Plus, the windows are openable (!). The backyard rooms have narrow, long bathrooms and the wardrobe is placed beside the bed. It has it's advantages if you're in a romantic company and appreciate an occasional glimpse in the mirror (on the wardrobe door) ;)... but other than that, this room has one huge disadvantage - the windows are covered with fixed metal blinds. So you CAN open the window but cannot see almost anything as the blinds block all the view and daylight. The staff are very helpful and speak fluent English.

Here is our case. We were a party of three arriving on October 23rd to attend the Leonard Cohen’s concert in Milan. To our amaze the gentleman at the front desk told us that our reservation was for the 22nd and not the 23rd. Having no alternatives, we asked for a room for three and were granted such a room since the hotel wasn’t fully booked. However, the next morning the front desk attendant told us that certain MARIA LOUISA GROPPELLI, who runs the hotel, ordered to charge us for two nights, taking advantage of the mistake in the ordered date of stay. All together, a single night in the ANDREOLA hotel cost us €340.00. While traveling, one looks at the hotel he stays at, as a “home away from home” and one certainly wouldn’t like to be considered a “milking cow” or a “business opportunity” in this “home away from home” he seeks. I’m not arguing the legal aspects of our case but rather the willingness of one to assist and ease your traveling burden, so it’s for you to decide whether you would spend your time and money in a place that would take advantage on you, when tens of similar, if not better, quality and price hotels are scattered in a radius of couple of hundred of meters…Being human, especially while interacting with people, should be more important than €170.00… and maybe even more…

Overall very claen and efficient. The temp in the room was a bit hot - we opened the window which was a mistake, very noisy outside from 3am! - poor nights sleep. Ok the next day as we kept window shut! Reasonable all round for a central hotel only three minute walk from Central rail station. In the working area of Milan but only ten minutes on frequent tram to centre for shopping/Churches/Museum and alll the tourist bits. Breakfast excellent, bacon and eggs, selection of cereals, yoghurts and fruit - cheese, meat, bread plentiful coffee - as much as you wanted. Waitresse very friendly - reception not so - made to feel that our requests for local tips and transport were not important and any advice given with reluctance!! That said this was the only unexpected bad point.

ACH is a business travelers focused hotel. Leisure travelers like us may get the good deal over the weekend! We paid 99 euro for a saturday stay and was offered the penthouse suite! Got to love the ACH! Very close to the train station. You could see it from the hotel. Subway/Metro station nearby, or 30-40 minutes walk to the city center. Very good breakfast but dinning area could be crowded if you go there after 9am. Great location 2-minutes walk from Milan Central Railway station with easy access to airport buses and underground to the tourist sights. A taxi to Dumo was 10Euros ... the underground 1Euro. We only had a one night stop over in Milan before a flight, but this hotel and location worked out great so that we were not carrying our bags everywhere. Hotel room was more on par with USA standard size complete with a shower you can fit into! TV with various news stations in english ... other stations in italian, french, and german. Very good quality vs price in an excellent location very near to the central train station. State of the rooms and the other hotel areas are very good, temporary and clean. Very good restaurant as well. I will most likely make this my pref hotel when staying in Milan.

This hotel was very nice, located very conveniently near the central train station and metro stop so that you can easily get around town. The room was nice and the bathroom was fairly spacious. The breakfast was very good, possibly the best of the 6 different hotels I stayed in while in Italy.

Chose the Hotel for its closeness to the railway station and the bus to the Airport. We were leaving early the next morning, before the breakfast room was open but the women who was setting up the buffet breakfast let us sit down and quickly have something. She even brought me my last cappucino before returning home.

This is a nice hotel, but I find it relatively overpriced compared to other hotels in this city.

Very poor quality for a 4 star hotel. I expected more. The quality of food at the hotel restaurant was especially ordinary. Few facilities, a gym would have been nice and more internet terminals for guest use.

I will recommend this hotel to all my friends if they are going to visit Milan. It is has an excellent breakfast buffet, pleasant rooms and the perfect atmosphere for a romatic weekend, as well as for the business traveler.

The Andreola had real "class" and was excellent value. The staff could not have been more friendly, sympathetic and helpful as my hand luggage with passport was stolen on my way to the hotel - they arranged my contact with authorities and assisted me to obtain a relacement passport. They even arranged for me to have a ticket for La Scala (which was also in the stolen bag)replaced. I cannot speak too highly of this hotel and staff.

This was a great hotel, really close to the railway station, as indicated. The room was of a high quality, very attractive and very comfortable. The only thing we didn't like about the hotel were the hideous imitation flowers in the foyer; and the guests kept eating the food from the breakfast buffet faster than the staff could bring it out.

This hotel was wonderful. The front desk personnel could have been a bit more friendly; however, we did not interact with them very much. They were able to suggest a wonderful restaurant, The Mediterranean, around the corner. Highly recommend this place if you are in Milan. The hotel room had a balcony that overlooked the interior courtyard. Not much of a view but very nice having the balcony. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel overall was very nice. Rooms were small, but clean. The front desk staff needs to improve their customer service skills. We wanted to purchase a time card to use the computer/internet, but the hotel only had a 3hr time card for 10 euros, but all 3hrs had to be used in one sitting. We kept getting told that they expected to have more computer time cards delivered, but that never happened during our 3night stay. It was not worth it to pay 10 euros to surf the net for a short while (we certainly weren't going to sit there and use the computer for 3hrs during our trip!) so we had to go through the trouble of walking a few blocks away to use the internet when we could've just went downstairs and used the computer in the lobby IF the time cards were available. The concierge acted as though we were bothering him when we had questions. He looked like he was tired of dealing with tourists. Here's a tip, if he's so tired working with tourists, perhaps he shouldn't be in the hotel business and greeting customers! The restaurant staff was very nice.

It was just a one night stay for transit. So I can't complain too much. However, I still hope that the room would be a little more cleaner, especially the bathroom.

It was superb experience to stay at this hotel again as a final destination before leaving Italy. All the employee were competent and helpful. Although it is a cultural difference, it would have been much more helpful if there were some description about "bath tub" since some travelors would like to have one in their room.

The room was small with a rear facing window. There were no English TV stations. The information we requested for the location of a car rental company was not accurate. We requested an early breakfast which was only coffee (this was included in the one-night price). The check-out was slow. The price of a taxi to the airport was very high (40 euros). We didn't like the surroundings of the hotel.

Just a note that it is best to avoid Milano during Fer'agosto (August 15-16). The one night we stayed at the hotel this year was on the 16th and the hotel restaurant and most restaurants in central Milano were all closed for the holiday. The hotel staff kindly checked around for us. However, please note that we found excellent dinner nearby at a local restaurant in the square in front of the train station. It was a pizza-pasta dinner restaurant where we had Osso bucca, pizza, pasta, Milanese risotto, excellent wine. So, just a short walk away was excellent dinner, making the location most convenient. Note that the neighborhood is typical of one being near a major train station, a little questionable. But inside the hotel is safe, clean and a wonderful experience.

Went to Milan with my girlfriend, had based ourselves at friends house in Tuscany, travelled to Rome then up to Milan, didn't like Milan, visited the San Siro stadium ( G. Meazza stadio), not much to do in Milan, if hadn't been for the fact that we were only there for one night then I would have been disappointed, unless you have millions in the bank then stay away from via Monte Napoleone ( Versace, Gucci, Armani, Prada, Fendi, Louis Vuitton etc), We even found a shop that sold discounted designer clothing, yeah what a joke, the cheapest thing they had on sale was a scarf for £600 (800 Euros), not our idea of discounts, best thing to come out of Milan? The train. P.S dont go on a Monday evening in August, firstly everywhere shuts on a Monday in Italy and secondly, most of the people who own the restaurants in Milan go away in August so most of the restaurants are shut.
