You get what you pay for, and to expect the Ritz/Carlton at bargain-basement prices is unrealistic. The location is very good, though Miami in general is a bit like NYC in the early '70s with a lot of vagrents and junkies hanging around. Elwoods is a great bar nearby, and there's a Peruvian restaurant called Che 105 that has excellent food and drink that I've honestly never heard of before. The air conditioners condensation drain was inside the window so I had to use the ice bucket to keep the floor from flooding. When the toilet backed up the guy at the front desk handed me a plumbers helper and wished me "good luck", and the bed pillows really need to be replaced. For $60.00 a night in a major city, like I said, you get what you pay for. The girl who owns the place is nice and wants folks to be happy. I can't recall her name, but her brother needs an attitude adjustment and to put the customers needs ahead of the G.D. computer he seems so enamoured with. I'd stay there again because I'm a cheap skate!

Hotel was exactly as advertised and the staff were probably the friendliest I have ever encountered. The room was quite spartan and basic, but that's exactly what we were looking for and it was very comfortable for the price. It was a pretty neat place with a sort of offbeat vibe that made it interesting:)

Nice clean room for a bargain price. It is also very centrally located in downtown--walking distance to lots of things. I spent some time hanging out in the lobby meeting some interesting people from the Caribbean. Did not see any street people. The staff was really nice too.

Ok..in short, this place sucks so bad its ridiculous. For 20 more dollars a night go stay anywhere else!!! I had set myself up for the possibility of this place sucking, but when i walked in the room i was in awe. I was worried for my health it was so bad. The place STANK and there were stains on all the sheets. Everyone there is a thug, and there are homeless people that stand outside the lobby(if u wanna call it that). This is place that if you are drunk and are taking a hooker somewhere then WELCOME to the Miami Sun Hotel, otherwise stay far far away...If u are reading this thinking, hey this guy might be wrong, YOU are wrong. PLEASE dont stay here! The staff sucks too! THe guy at the front desk was blasting music on his laptop, and when i went to check out the lady working the desk walked away and said hey honey ill be back in 5 minutes, just so i could get my 5 dollars back.. EFF THIS PLACE IN THE A

The room was not cleaned and there were roaches crawling on the floor. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever seen.
