The tropics is a really good deal on South Beach: very good price/quality. From all the lower price class hotels we've stayed in at South Beach the Tropics is the best. The rooms are bright,spacious, clean and very quiet for South Beach. The staff is friendly. The outside sitting area with a big pool, tables and even cooking facilities is very nice. It is situated next to everything (shops, dining) and just in front of the hotel you have a direct access to boardwalk and beach. Of course the building is old and some things could be freshened up a bit but that's typical for a small South Beach hotel in this price class. So if you want a nice, clean and well situated hotel on South Beach without paying too much the Tropics is a top deal.

the Price is to expansive. the hotel has a elevator, but it was out of order. thats not so funny when the room iis on the 3th floor the bathroom its to small and the shower its horrible. never again, thank you

Great place to stay for night life in South Beach but still quiet enough to sleep. Through kitchen facility enough options to meet other people. Only weakness I discovered: Little animals (ants?) in the bathroom.
