The rooftop pool and sunbathing deck is the epitome of luxury Miami life as you'll find a jacuzzi, plenty of chaise lounges and little booths for a more private sunbathing experience.

The room was dark and sad, with a window facing a grey wall and thick brown curtain. It was also very noisy and I couldn't sleep because of the proximity oàf the 24h open bar and my neighbours were drunk and making noise late at night. This hotel is overrated and much to pricy for the service it provides. The breakfast wasn't included and was quite pricy. On the same avenue, there is hotel aqua 50% cheaper, if I had known so before, I wouldn't have gone to Catalina's. The decoration is tacky and kitsch. Catalina is a nice hotel for yougsters who just wanna have fun but not for business or family trip. The swimming poool is cold and small. It's well located in south beach but not directly on the beach.

When I checked out I was charged an extra 15$ per day for accountancy!!! Room stank of disinfectant when I asked for a different room I was told this was not possible due to the air conditioning not working in other rooms. A dreadful dreadful hotel utterly incompetent staff this hotel made my stay in Miamia misery. Disgusting

I took my honeymoon at the Catalina. It turned out to be a good choice. The rooms are boudoir-like and romantic. The light is very low at night; if you are looking for something in your luggage, wait till daytime. The staff were responsive and courteous. The location is fantastic. The A/C / heating system is loud, but this helps to mask the sound of drunk people coming back to their rooms late at night (it is, after all, South Beach). The front desk can get VIP passes to the major night clubs.
