Hotel Lario is an excellent three stars hotel, situated in the so called "Tremezzina", an international place famous for its historical villas and gardens and for the traditional hotel hospitality, facing the Lake Como in the middle of the major places of artistic and landscape interest of the Centre Lake.

The hotel has got 39 rooms equipped with the best comforts, on four floors with Lake view or overlooking the enchanting hinterland till Mount Crocione slopes. The welcoming Reception, the modern TV hall equipped wit Internet Point, our restaurant, elegant and bright, suitable for cocktail parties or banquets as well, the bar, the equipped garden and the modern swimming pool with water grazing the ground, are characteristic of the services range.
Possibility of covered parking in our garage with a supplement of 5,00 Euro per day, per car.

Lario Hotel is a nice hotel located on the main road along the lake. The staff is freindly and helpfull. Rooms (Sea view) are rather small, but does have a balcony. The hotel has a small but nice pool, and parking in their garage is free! On the other hand use of internet was €5 pr. half hour, and the computer was restricted, so we wan't able to make our onward reservation. So unless you just wan't to check news at €10/hr the internet-connection is a waste of money. There isn't much happening in the surroundings of the hotel. The hotel is located right on the main road. A few hundred meters west you will find a bar and a supermarket, and that's it. In the other direction it's a 15 walk - on the main road (There is no sidewalk!) dodging the italian traffic - to Tremezzo where you can find restaurants. Hotel Lario is a nice place to stay and lives up to the standard of a 3 star hotel. However I think the price is rather high. But that goes for the whole west-bank of Lake Como.

Room Details

Hotel Lario in Mezzegra has got 39 soundproof rooms, all with balcony or little garden, equipped with the best comforts: air conditioning, thermostat for temperature self-setting, telephone with direct external line, ADSL internet line, satellite TV, safe, minibar, bathroom with hairdryer.
It is possible to choose between rooms with Lake View or rooms with Mountain view, both are enchanting because of the Hotel overlooking position.
The double rooms can be with one double bed or two twin beds, some very spacious rooms are with three beds and can comfortably accommodate three people.
At the ground floor we dispose of a room with walk-in shower for people with restricted mobility.
At the fourth floor we have a nice family room composed of two rooms both with balcony and lake view, with a common entrance and a common bathroom, ideal for families of 4-5 people.

How to reach LARIO Hotel

By car
From Milan: take the motorway A9 "dei Laghi" (=lake's motorway) direction Como-Chiasso, exit in Como Nord and follow the directions to Menaggio, the Lario Hotel is in Mezzegra, about 3 km before Menaggio, in Via Statale Regina, 50 on your left hand side.
From Switzerland: exit from the motorway in Lugano Nord and, following the directions to Italy-Porlezza, pass the border from the Gandria customs, passing through Porlezza continue as far as Menaggio, there take direction Como, hotel Lario is in Mezzegra, about 3 km after Menaggio, in Via Regina, 50 on your right hand side.


By train
The nearest train stations to Hotel Lario are: "Como San Giovanni" central station and "Como Lago" station.
Como is about 30 km far from Mezzegra.
FROM MALPENSA AIRPORT BY TRAIN:
During the day, every 30 minuts, there are trains leaving from Malpensa airport (terminal 1) to Saronno, there you will have to change and catch another train to join Como. Trains from Saronno to Como Lago station are running every 30 minutes or more. Then, from Como you will have to take a bus to Mezzegra.


By airplane
The nearest airports to the hotel are: Milan Malpensa (Km 80), Milan Linate (Km 92), Bergamo Orio al serio (Km 120)
From Milan Malpensa Airport:
The center of Milan is about 50 km far from Malpensa airport. Between the two Terminals of Malpensa, a free shuttle bus is available every 20 minutes about for 24 hours a day.
From Milan Linate Airport:
Milan city is only 7 km far from Linate airport, Milan can be reached by car or by bus.Taxi are available at the Arrivals. The fee to the centre of Milan is about € 15.
From Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport:
You can join our hotel from Orio al Serio whether using a car (rented car) or public transport.

By public transportation
FROM MALPENSA BY TRAIN and BUS:
The best way to join Como from malpensa airport is by train (please check on the train directions).
Then, to join our hotel from Como you will have to catch the bus C10 direction MENAGGIO /COLICO (BLU BUS) and stop at the Mezzegra bus stop, the hotel is on the main street, 20 mt after the bus stop.
FROM LINATE BY BUS & TRAIN:
From the departure floor of Linate airport there are bus leaving to Milan central station every 30 minutes from 6:05 a.m. to 11.45, the ticket price is about € 2,50. Then, from Milan central station you can catch a direct train to Como and there, a bus to Mezzegra.
FROM ORIO AL SERIO BY TRAIN & BOAT:
You can join Bergamo railway station with the ATB service, which, in only 10 minutes, will bring you there from Orio al Serio airport. Then from Bergamo railway station the fastest way to join or hotel is by train to Lecco and then to Varenna, in Varenna you can take a boat to Tremezzo, the second boat stop in Tremezzo is about 700 mt. far from Hotel Lario and, if you contact us in advance, we will come there to pick you up and take you to the hotel.
