This was our first stay in France. There were no staff present, our names and room number posted on the front door. The room key was left in our door. We could not even obtain a drink of any sort. We had been advised that dinner would not be provided but that directions to a restaurant would be left in our room. It was not left in the room, we could not find a restaurant open on a Monday and so we went without food and drink until the next morning. A 30% discount was given for these failures, which I accepted reluctantly. I, and my Company, shall never book through venere.com again. We had no security the whole night, the front door being open and there being no staff. The experience was quite disgusting.

Room was very spacious, with two beds on a balcony and sofa bed on the main floor. View from room over the lake. Restaurant is rather expensive, and we were not impressed with the starter, though the rest of the meal was very nice. Hotel setting is lovely, in the countryside at the side of a lake, and there is also a small golf course to one side.

The hotel is near to the main street. My room was perfect but perhaps it should be mentioned for these rooms with window to the street. Also a link to chain "Hotel de Silence" should be helpful. I didn´t know that. Should be an advantage to the hotel for other guests.

Excellent location, good service in hotel and restaurent. The only problem we had was that my wife got food poisening just a few hours after eating at the hotel restaurent(a fish pate to start followed by a lobster main course)

Your website pictures give the impression that the rooms are more spacious, airey and better equipped than the room we were given which had just a small dormer window with no view whatsoever - unless you stood right up to the window and on tip toe - all you saw was the roof of the adjacent building and the covered walkway opposite.

This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, right by the side of a peaceful and tranquil lake (except when the locals are on holiday!) The rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff are cheerful and helpful. The food in the restaurant is delicious, with dishes to suit most palates and the wine list is extensive. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave and the only problem we encountered was that the rooms were not air-conditioned, but you can live with that when you have such marvellous views. Well worth a visit.

The hotel had not received our booking from you! However they did have a vacany and were able to fit us in. The evening meal wasa excellent - I like the "menu de terroir" idea - hoowever we had to eat in splendid isolation in the grand dining room which did rather lack atmosphere to say the least. However food and wine were excellent.

By car
Coming from Paris: go towards Bordeaux/Chartres. After the Saint Arnoult-en-Yveline toll, take the A11 freeway towards Le Mans. Before Le Mans, take the A81 highway, direction Lavel Rennes and take exit n. 2 Vaiges (about 40 km after Le Mans). Turn right and go straight on the D24 road. At the roundabout, once in La Chapelle Rainsouin, take the D20 road, following direction Evron for 11 km. At the first roundabout in Evron turn left, continue until the next roundabout and take direction Mézangers/Mayenne. Pass through the village of Mézangers and continue for 700 metres, following the Mayenne direction. You will see the hotel on your right-hand side.
Coming from Rennes: take the A81 highway towards Laval, Le Mans, Paris and take exit n. 2, Vaiges. Then follow indications as above.

By train
The nearest train station is in Evron, 6 km from the hotel.
Laval railway station, 30 km from Mézangers, is connected to Paris via TGV (high-speed train).

By airplane
The closest airports are in Laval (35 km away) and Rennes (100 km away).
