I had a very good stay in that hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The location is also convenient (on the edge of the historic centre). The only downside was the noise coming from a busy avenue and the floor was not so clean. For the price, I think this hotel is very decent and I would definitely stay there again.

Good place for the money... If they managed to kick those newspapers handlers right in front of the building from 4am on it will be a wonderful place.

We were very pleased with our apartment which was a junior room. It was very spacious and clean with a full size refrigerator, gas cook top and utensils. Only a very small fry pan and a 2 cup container to boil water. Not a problem, eating out was too much of a pleasure to miss. Small convenience store close by provided breakfast food. The staff were very helpfull and friendly. Security is excellent. A security guard lets you in and out and drives the old fashioned lift. The building itself is very quiet. The apartment is serviced every day except Sunday. There is no reception on Sunday either. If, like us you are arriving on a Sunday don´t worry if you cannot contact anyone by phone or internet. The security guard will let you into the room. Our plane was delayed so we didn´t get to the city until 2am and because we couldn´t contact them went to another hotel (which turned out to be a block from where we were going.) Our room was noisy, but we considered this the price to pay for being right in the historical centre. Mexicans love to play loud music. The bed was hard and made clanking noises from a metal plate between mattress and bed. Don´t know if this is in all rooms. We quickly got used to it and didn´t notice. Julio at reception spoke excellent English and was very helpful. The security guards were great. The hotel is in a lane of a major road and was difficult to find at first. The lane is dirty and smelly and very offputting but persevere - it is very different inside. We would go back to stay as we became very fond of our little ¨home¨ The photographs on the web do not do justice to the size of the apartment or the facilities.

Although the rooms are clean and spacious, the lobby area operates from 9 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday. Saturday it is only until noon and Sundays not at all. Unfortunately, we went during the Christmas holidays so most of the time there was no lobby to complain to for the lack of soap and toilet paper. In fact we solved the problem by buying ours. By the way, there is no room service on Sundays either. On one occasion the electronic key lost its magnetic coding and the security guard (the only person 24/7) called the owner. We waited on the steps over one hour for him to make his way across town. The hotel is on a dirty side street facing a parking structure, and across from what serves as a distributing point for newspapers. It was bad enough with car alarms going off at any hour of the night, but worse was that at 5 a.m. everyday, the newspaper people set up their tables for newspaper distribution while their CD players blasted out music until 9:30 a.m or so. The street is full of left-over papers, having nowhere else to urinate it is done in any available corner, consequently the street reeks of urine. And the owner is never around, and I imagine he doesn't care. Neither my friend nor I would go back to that hotel, nor would we recommend it.

Hotel staff do not speak English, but they are helpful. The surrounding is derelict and noisy. However they offer very clean, spacious rooms at a very reasonable price. Underground station is near.
