The hotel is located just 10 minutes away from Venice, personnel is very professional and helpful. We were a group of 14 people, the check in was very smooth, fast. The rooms had air conditioning and private bathrooms. I think in Venice is affordable with this hotel service

For the distance between the hotel and Venice, it is pretty far. Overall, it is nice place. Staff is usually busy and rushed in answering our questions. Price is somewhat pricey. Have to pay for a weak wifi. Have to pay for shuttle to Venice.

- very far from Venice - you have to pay for everything (internet, breakfast, city map, shuttle bus,...) - You have to reserve the shuttle bus in advance and if you miss it, then you lose your money - In the evenings, there is usually only the Italian speaking lady at reception - Nearest restaurant 15 minutes walking (at night, the area is quite and next to open land, which makes it a bit scary to walk to the restaurants) - On the second day, they gave us two towels instead of three (we got another one upon complaining) - The TV has only Italian channels - We couldn't call the hotel on the number they gave us to ask for the shuttle bus

Main reason why I could not wait to write this review on Villa Dori is the interaction with the staff. Everybody was very mean and difficult to communicate with. I understand that it is only our fault that we don't speak Italian but I expect European hotels to provide us with reasonable support, including their knowledge of main European languages. But they don't even try to be nice or helpful. Breakfast is 6 Euros per person which is ridiculous 18 Euros for 2 adults and a child. Most places provide breakfast for free. Internet is also has to be paid for. Walls in the room have black staining as well as the greasy spots. Bedspread had holes in it. Positive moments: bikes available to rent and very nice town this hotel is situated in. Overall, the unpleasant feeling which staff created for us from the first moment, put a black cloud on our perception of the hotel. The price was good considering that we were very close to Venice.

There was one big problem with our stay, we didn't have any window in our room, how can you even offer a room without a window!? It's a closet NOT a room!!! After asking the reception to change to a room with a window, we've been told that all those rooms are already booked. Once again how can you even offer a room without a window !?

If you are using this hotel to visit Venice think twice. Unless u use their shuttle it can be a nightmare. Keep in mind that you cannot allways get in the shuttle u want, and it drives only few times a day. Mosquito protection is a must, as in most hotels there. If you do not arrive by own car forget it. It is located on the outskirts of Margera, and getting to Venice with public transport could be tricky.

This was the second time we stayed here. Chose this hotel because of price and the shuttle service to Venice. Hotel recently renovated, was clean, but was able to hear noise from rooms next door. The air conditioner was able to mask some of this noise. Very extensive breakfast buffet; lots of variety, but did cost 5 euros per person.

We were staying in Venice only for 1 night- and we needed parking. Im not sure how easy this place would be to find if you were flying- but as we were driving it was fine. Staff were helpful in advising on buses etc- plus there was a minibus to collect us at 10 for around 2 euros each. The hotel pictures are slightly out of date- but if you are looking for budget then we would advise!

Personnal is not really communicant but correct when you ask something... bathrooms are little bit cheap quality and little bit old... but clean and safe... You have to walk 10 minutes to the hotel for cactch a bus include in the vaporetto prices...

Regarding the quietness of the rooms I have to mention that there's a bar in the basement and when we arrived on Sunday there was very loud music, but when asking the management stated that it would last only till 10 pm max. So it would be wise to ask about the bar activities when booking. If not for the music the surroundings are very quiet. Upon arrival at the hotel we were immediately very well informed about the possibilities of how to get to Venice by public transport or car, and they have also their own shuttle service at very reasonable prices.

I recommend this hotel only to those who is going to save expenses. The rate is really perfect! But the location leaves much to be desired. If you go to Venice by public transport it will take you approximately 30 minutes and you may spend much time waiting for a bus. But there is a special shuttle from the hotel to Venice and back.

Second Italian hotel on a trip with my girlfriend. Had to be picked up form the train station late at night, this was expensive, but you pay for the convenience. At the hotel, there were English speaking receptionists during normal hours. Our room cleaned everyday. Very nice hotel, with very nice furnishings. Didn't try the restaurant. Information given to get to Venice by bus. Tip: At the bus stops at Venice, buy a Venice rolling card (students) and with this you can get a 3 day pass at a great discount, which can be used on buses and boat buses (good fun). There also luggage storage at Venice bus station, Hotel good for general information. Really, a very good hotel, distance is the only shortfall, but the buses are not too bad.

We arrived by car and had no trouble locating the hotel. The staff where very busy but check-in was speedy. The room was quite small with a queen-size bed complete with a huge canopy. The bathroom was not large but was adequate. We could not see the television set since it was wall mounted and the bed canopy blocked any view. The hotel dining room was closed so we ate our meals at a nearby restaurant. Hotel staff were very helpful and assisted in returning our rental car to the Venice airport, which saved me in money, time and stress.

hotel villa dori, i find the staffs very arrogant and not friendly at all, but the services of the hotel like the shuttle bus going to venice is very accomodating. the interior of the rooms are very artistic,("just a thought" i really hope that this hotel is not a former whorehouse)in the shower, it is not properly cleaned. breakfast is ok,every dining tables has an ethnic/asian porno graphics and some area of the restaurant smells like a pee, i get itchy feeling everytime im sleeping, and on the day that we are about to check out, i found a bed bug on the bed covers, i told the cleaning lady about it and she immediately took it away and said that it was just an insect from outside,i suggest that they should be careful with beddings, toilet, and the restaurant cleanliness and orderliness. these are the important things that will make the guest feel safe and secured both in health, mentally and physically.

In complesso siamo stati abbstanza bene.

After the frosty reception, we were given room keys and then told the restaurant was closed. This meant a 2 mile walk in the evening where we eventually found another hotel with a restaurant that was as it happens, very good indeed. The room itself was clean and quite, which was most welcome. The morning breakfast was excellent, great choice and well presented. It's a shame there was no evening meal as that may also have been as good. It would have to be said that the separate building that housed the restaurant was also a night-club type venue, so how quite it would have been if that was open we cannot say. Over all a nice enough place to stay, although someone with a more helpful manner at reception would have counted for a lot.

The Hotel was Clean, nicely decorated and quite easy to find although it was a little further away from Venice than expected so I would probably choose a Hotel inside Venice for my next visit. However, as we were just passing through it was ideal to be able to leave the Hire Car parked at the Hotel and use the Hotel Minibus Service to take us into the Centre. (Venice has to be done on foot anyway!!) The Hotel Room allocated to us was a little on the small side, particularly the Bathroom but it was for only one night anyway. Fluent in his English, we couldn't ask for more. 2. The ancient style furnitures in the rooms. 3. The quite place the Vila is located. 4. There's a lot of parking place - FREE. 5. Hello, we spent 2 nights in Villa Dori. Everything was great. We had one small problem concerning the type of room. We had booked 2 rooms: 1 double room and 1 twin-bed room. Upon our arrival, they could only provide us with 2 double rooms. Another negative comment on this property is the location of the hotel; it takes almost 45 minutes by bus to go to Venice. But the bus station is very nearby and the hotel provides a very efficient shuttle service.

THIS HOTEL IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FAMILY NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. THE DAY DESK CLERK WAS VERY HELPFUL AND THEY HAVE INFO IN ENGLISH REGARDING BREAKFAST NEXT DOOR (DIDN'T TRY IT). WE STAYED HERE TO HAVE QUICK ACCESS TO THE MARCO POLO AIRPORT FOLLOWING A CRUISE AND THEY OFFER A SHUTTLE BUS FOR 20 EUROS. THEY ALSO OFFER A SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE THE BUS STATION IN VENICE, HOWEVER IT IS ON A SPECIFIC SCHEDULE. WE MISSED THE SHUTTLE INTO THE CITY (WE TOOK THE PUBLIC BUSES) BUT THE EVENING RETURN IS ONLY AT 9:00PM AND 12:00 MIDNIGHT. THE PICK UP SPOT IS A STOREFRONT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BUS STATION IN VENICE. IT IS A LONELY AREA WITH NO WHERE TO SIT OR WAIT. A MAN DRIVES UP IN A VAN WITH THE HOTEL NAME ON THE SIDE WINDOW, DOESN'T SAY A WORD TO US, FINALLY DRIVES US BACK TO THE HOTEL, JUMPS OUT AND RUNS INTO THE HOTEL TO BE THE DESK CLERK. INSIDE, WE FIND OUT HE DOES SPEAK SOME ENGLISH. IT WAS JUST STRANGE. THE ONLY WINDOW IN THE ROOM (NO SHADE OR CURTAIN) WAS A DOOR TO THE OUTSIDE CONSTRUCTION AREA FACING THE HOMES ACROSS THE STREET. THEY ALSO CHARGED OUR CREDIT CARD AS SOON AS WE CHECKED IN, WHICH WE DID NOT REALIZE UNTIL CHECKING OUT. WE WERE GOING TO PAY CASH WHEN CHECKING OUT AND THE DAY CLERK TOLD US WE WERE IN ITALY, WATCH OUT, SOMEONE ELSE WOULD HAVE TAKEN OUR MONEY. HE WAS THE NICE ONE. WE WERE GLAD WE ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT.

The shuttle was filled when we wanted to go to Venice but the bus worked fine. Breakfast was very ample for 5 EU each. The people at the desk spoke good English and were very helpful. Our room was great with a canopied bed and even a bathtub. There was a strange odor in the air but we were told that this was fertilizer that was on some of the fields. Overall the stay was just good, considering the price you would pay in Venice this is actually a great find. The only problem was that the club next door was a little loud at night and the beds were not very comfortable. We had a triple room with 3 twin beds and all the beds sagged. I think they were just little cots that they threw together so maybe the regular beds are better. The staff was very nice, especially Pietro who helped us out with all our requests. He was so nice we felt bad about saying anything about our beds or the noise. Travel into Venice was very easy but I would recommend having a car if you plan on returning late from Venice. Pietro gave us tips on where to park (only 4 Euro per day) and there were plenty of busese in and out of Venice all night to return. I would stay here again but I would request a room that was the farthest away from the night club and one with more comfortable beds.

We reserved two room, a quadruple and a double, one located in the newer addition and one in the older. The owner seems to be renovating all around. The facilites were clean, and accomodating. The drawbacks were mosquitoes in the area, obviously not the hotel's problem, finding the facility, and getting use to the very strong aroma from the cleanser used to clean the room lingered in the newer room. It was quite potent. My children's room was closer to the bar and they found it a little noisy. For the money near Venice, I felt it was well worthwhile.

Our room was small with nowhere to sit apart from on the bed, but nicely decorated and clean. Bathroom clean and well appointed. Towels changed daily. Building work in progress but did not cause any inconvenience. Staff speak excellent English and were extremely helpful and knowledgable re tourist infomation. Breakfast was of continental style but plentiful. Shuttle bus to and from Venice well priced and an excellent service. Only negative during our stay was that the hotel resaurant was not open for evening meals, said to be a short term problem. Local pizzeria pleasant, within 5 minutes walk but not a place to eat every night. Overall a lovely hotel which we would highly reccommend and we would definately stay there again.

To start with what we liked : there is an excellent bus conection to Venice fom the hotel. We received maps and timetables for the bus. The Hote staff is very friendly. our room was not tidied up when we arrived, this was done later on. The rooms do look a lot better on the photographs. In all it was a nice stay.

Really hard to find hotel - make sure you get the phone number and get directions. Rooms are pretty good for the price, especially in venice, location quite handy for Venice once you work the buses out.

This hotel was beautiful even though the room just a little small. The staff were beyond helpful with any and all our needs. I felt very comfortable and relaxed during our stay there. I would stay again.

Good quality vs price and excellent location from Venezia. Unfortunately, the town is very small and the hotel is not easily seen from the road instead good indications to get to it. Good address indeed.

This is a beautiful hotel! The pictures on the website don't really show how elegant this place is! And we had internet access in the gorgeous lobby. This hotel is a great choice if you don't care about being where all the canals are.

This hotel is about a 5 minute drive from the bridge that leads to Venice. Venice is very accesible by car, or by bus. The area where the hotel is located is not very 'touristy', and it is quiet. The hotel has a restaurant (we did not try it), and the rooms are well appointed and fairly spacious. AND, the air conditioning worked great, which is a plus in Europe. The staff were very freindly, and spoke excellent English. The price is very reasonable considering what you pay in Venice.

We stayed there for 3 nights. Staff was exceptionally helpful. They have great and very cheap service for airport/town drop off. Interestingly all the people were very cheerful, polite, helpful and efficient. They offer free internet and very helpful in providing directions and information about the area. Hotel is little difficult to locate and needs 10 minute walk for a direct bus to venice. Overall I strongly recommend this place for the serice they are offering.

The location is not near the center, but shuttle service is very convenient. You can book the shuttle bus back from Venice at night, it takes only 15minites. Cost is reasonable. The stuffs in the hotel are very friendly. They speak perfect English. They were not only providing useful information, but also helped us to solve some traveling problem. I want to thank Pietro and Andrea for all your help.

The hotel was good, authough the building site below our window was a bit off putting but you have to build and we did stay off season, The shuttle service from Venice was first rate , on time in a major rain storm. The staff were friendly and helpful, the lady who served us breakfast (exellent ) was great fun and set us up for our day seeing the Giro d`Italia and onto Como.. Would I go there again ? yes without a doubt

We thought the hotel would have been closer to the Marco Polo airport than it was, but the shuttle service was good and it only took half an hour to reach the airport. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English well. The room was extremely quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast next door was good value for money and was served promptly even though we on an early schedule. We went into Venice on the local bus that we caught a short walk away from the hotel. We would stay there again if in the area.

Thaks, Villa Dori. I have to report true things about you. Good things: I slept well. Room was spaceous, calm and clean. Front man speaks English. Shuttle service is convenient and FAST!! Internet access is available for free (only one PC, though). Not good things: Front area was smoky. The rate of shuttle service changed depending on the staff members at front (I hope it was a mistake). Breakfast is not included in the charge (5 euro). The hotel is much more far from the Venezia Mestre station than I expected. When I took public bus from Mestre station, I did not noticed where I should get off because there is few information on the road. Fortunately, I sat on thefrontest seat and found the sign board that they noticed in the paper. But, this paper is available at the front. It is ironical, isn't it?

A bit far out in the countryside, but compensated by a good shuttle-service (not overpriced) and public buses. However I don't think I would try to find the hotel with a car of my own. Very good caretaking from the staff. Also a very good restaurant in the same house. The breakfast for 5 euro was also OK as you also got juice and cerials. No doubt I would choose it again.

Although it's a little far from everything, it is very easy to get to the main sites with the information the hotel staff offers. They tell you exactly where to get the bus and where to get it at. They also have shuttle service (for a small fee) that takes you to Venice and the airport. The staff was GREAT. They all speak English very well and try to answer all your questions. The rooms are very nicely decorated. I would defintely stay there again.

I don't know how long you go from there to the city center of venice, but if we once go to venice, we will also try! rooms are clean and nice furnished, employees are friendly and helpful! I can recommend this hotel!

This is a wonderful hotel with very easy access to Venezia. We drove our car; the parking at the hotel is great. The staff at the hotel told us where to park the car when we went into Venezia; from there we rode a bus into the city, then got onto the vaporetti. The hotel restaraunt wasn't quite to our tastes, but there is a great little pizzeria a block away. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning on staying in the Venice area.

Great if you have a car--has its own parking lot and is near the the main highway. (The map on the website wasn't very good though.) We asked for a triple room and got a 5-bed suite, which was pretty nice. The only problem was the staff could have expained our options for getting to Venice a little better. We wasted a lot of time by going to the most crowded parking garage in Venice when we could have gone to another. Also, there was hammering at 8 in the morning outside our door. The price was very good for the spaciousness and interesting decour of the room. There is a bar/restaurant attached that looks popular among the younger crowd. Overall, a good place for someone with a car and a very good price.

This hotel has a staff that is customer minded and very nice. However, the shuttle only left twice a day for Venice and only picked up three times a day, and considering that this hotel is far out on the countryside, we found it difficult to get to and from Venice. Also, the hotel is undergoing major construction (as they are adding to the hotel) so be sure to ask for a room away from the construction. Despite the very nice service, we would not stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Dori for 3 nights when visiting Venice. Although it was in Mestre, a bit away from the island of Venice, there was very convenient public transportation to the island. If you are under 30, I suggest getting the Rolling Venice Card for 3 EUR, and then using it to buy a 3 day ACTV public transportation card for 15 EUR, which covers all land and water buses in Venice and surrounding areas. The crowd that stayed at the hotel was mostly young. There was free internet access in the lobby. The hotel itself was beautiful. The rooms were very nicely decorated and were brand new. The walls were covered by cloth that matched the bed spreads, the ground was all marble. There was a safe and cold bar in the room. The bathrooms were clean and new. The room was cleaned daily. The air-conditioning was very useful! There was a restaurant in the back of the hotel which belonged to the hotel owners, and it was really good! The restaurant was big and modern. . The hotel can pick you up from the train station for free, or take you back and forth to the Piazzale Roma on the island of Venice for a small fee. I drove to Venice and was happy that there was plenty of free parking. I would stay at this hotel without hesitation again!
