We stayed there on the night before our cruise and for one night after the cruise. Location is great. Bus from airport stops outside; bus/train to Venice is across the street and we used both to go in. My wife left behind a good bracelet on the first night's stay but it was waiting for us when we returned after the cruise. We came off the ship and we were in the hotel by 9am but they even had a room ready for us and offered us a complementary breakfast even though we had not stayed the night before! All reception staff speak English and could not be more helpful. Better than staying in Venice.

Very convenient location right in front of Train Station, clean and adecuate for a conecting night. There is a few fast food places near the hotel and I saw a couple of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is good, is the only hotel that offered scrambled eggs in all the hotels I visited during my trip to Europe, also different types of Ham, Chesse and Bread like all European Hotels and canned fruit and orange juice. If you arrive late at night by train like we did, it is very convenient that the hotel is right in front of the station and you dont have to take a loong walk or take a public transportation. Staff is helpfull and fast check in and check out. Overall good experience for a connecting night.

Our first visit to The Tritone was very nice and is excellently situated for easy access into Venice either by train (1 Euro each way) or by bus. The gentleman in Reception was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very varied and excellent and the staff again most helpful. Was rather surprised for a Four star hotel that there was no Bar or evening dining facilities. However just along the road from the hotel were two excellent restaurants which we used. But again we were rather surprised that Mestre did not offer many choices of places to eat All in all our stay was excellent and we would recommend The Tritone to anyone wishing to have a convenient place to stay. Also is only 20 minutes from Marco Polo Airport with shuttle buses very frequent.

Excellent location, unlike most of the cities, central station area is not dangerous. And if you do not know your way around or come late this is very! convenient. Breakfast very fine. Rooms are big and clean. There is a noise from outside early in the morning because of station (but that was fine with me) and based on my exprience this is a very good 3* hotel, not really 4*. And of course hotels in Venice are a bit overpriced.

Excellent 4-star hotel 10 min. from Santa Lucia train station in Venice with immediate access from there to the Grand Canal. Trains run from Mestre train station (directly across the street from hotel) approx. every 10 min. For Venice, the rate is a real bargain. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very helpful and courteous staff. Will definitely use again when we return to this fabled and fabulous city.

Staying in Mestre is very convenient for visiting Venice and usually less expensive. We have stayed at other hotels opposite the railway station but found this one to be the best all round value for money - the room was fine particularly as it is usually only going to be a base, the breakfast was very good and the staff extremely helpful. We preferred train travel to the bus which can be very crowded and therefore intimidating at busy times, particularly late night. Also beware the crowds for the airport bus and the lack of organised queuing. Having observed this we opted for a taxi transfer which although not cheap (35 Euros) gave peace of mind. The Restaurant at the nearby Great Western Bologna hotel is excellent.

We were extremely happy with this hotel. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Mikela, at the front desk, was especially friendly and helpful. She had great recommendations for us and lots of great tips for getting around Venice. Also, Shan, in the breakfast room was superb. Very efficient and nice. The location was great for getting around Venice. We also loved having access to a computer.

Hotel is a nice business type of hotel. Small but clean and nice lobby, with internet access for guests. Our group of four couples picked the Tritone Golden Tulip because it was very close to the bus and train route into Venice, and was much less expensive than the hotels in Venice. Also good proximimy to VCE. The members of our group were pleased with the hotel and the location and the ease of travel into Venice.

Staff were not helpful unless asked directly and then they would answer the question. They did not volunteer suggestions that might be helpful given their local knowledge. They were reasonably courteous and did not leave you waiting long periods at the front desk as they did in Rome.

The hotel is conveniently located and value for money. Rooms were as expected, clean, spacious and functional. Enjoyed the stay, if only the hotel were magically transported to Venice I would give it 10 out of 10!

Oue experience at the hotel was excellent. The staff is very competent and very nice. The brakfast buffet was amazing and the style and comforts of the hotel made our brief visit very pleasant indeed. The hotel is steps away from the train station which makes it easy to reach but makes the surroundings not great for this same reason.I would certainly stay at the hotel again cause it is excellent value for money.

This hotel is located accross from the train station and is convenient if you wish to vist Venice and other cities in the area. However, there are better choices on the same block. The Hotel Bologna and Hotel Plaza are more modern with friendlier service.

Stayed one night prior to our departure from Marco Polo Airport. The hotel was clean, the bed comfortable, the employees courteous and helpful. However, the area outside the hotel was a bit seedy, but directly across from the train station and a very quick 10-15 minute ride to Venice St.a Lucia station. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and very affordable place to stay near Venice I would recommend the hotel. For those looking for a real Venice treat I would recommend you splurge and stay at the Hotel Metropole in Venice proper.

The staff was welcoming and very accomodating. We arrived late morning and within 20 minutes were allowed to check into our room. The staff also gave good restaurant recommendations. The hotel is located across the street from the Venice/Mestre train station and there are AVTO buses that run on a regular basis to the airport (costs 2.50 Euro) and local buses and the train that run to Venice frequently. We stayed here because we did not want to have to drag our bags through the sidewalks of Venice and because we did not want to spend twice as much for a hotel in Venice. I was very pleased with Tritone. The area around the hotel is a little iffy; much the way it is around any train station in a large city.

Mestre is the right choice for you if you DO hate to walk and sail with your baggage, trying to locate the narrow street in Venezia where your hotel will most likely be. And if you do NOT have special plans for the evening and night in Venezia, then Mestre and Tritone is a smart choice. Just crossing the street you will be in Mestre train station, at 1 Euro and 7 minutes from Venezia Santa Luzia, the gateway to Canal Grande. Parking is available beside the hotel (Parking Stazione aka Serenissima), at a daily rate of 5 Euros (any period from 0-24h will account as a full day). Tritone is a real 4-star hotel, comfortable, good breakfast buffet, and a reasonable price. Just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and you will find several interesting restaurants for an informal dinner (ristorante, trattoria, pizzeria,...) after spending the whole day in the channels and islands. If Mestre is your choice, Tritone will pay you back. In front of Santa Luzia, for a flat rate of 10,50 Euros, you will get a full 24-hour free navigation in the ACTV vaporetti (to San Marco, Murano, Lido, etc. etc.). Use vaporetto as much as you wish. Distances by walking in Venezia are quite often much longer than expected.
