Modern, well decorated, spacious room with spacious closet good bathroom. This is an excellent value and cost effective way to see Venice. The train station is directly across from the hotel and there are frequent inexpensive ( 1 euro) trains into the city ( to Santa Lucia station)--- the trip takes 6-8 minutes. The quality of the room would probably cost at least twice if not three times more if in Venice. Only downside is trains back in the evening become less frequent as it gets late, and do not run after midnight.

The hotel is conveniently located right across from the railway station. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.Breakfast is included and great. The bus to get into Venice is right across the road which makes it extremly convenient and fairly safe, even if travelling alone. We had a room facing the main street and the railway station and when the window was open it was quite noisy.Perhaps the rooms facing the back of the hotel may be quieter. Overall it was a good stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff at check in. Room facing back was very quiet, spacious and it had a lovely modern bathroom. Breakfast was more than adequate. They let us sit in the lounge on our return from looking round Venice until our train left that evening for Paris. Seemed to be some minor building works going on in the hotel but I never noticed any noise or dust. It was right opposite the train station that takes you into Venice itself - buy tickets from hotel at 1 euro each way. Very nice chinese restaurant on the street that runs up the side of the hotel (turn right as you come out of the entrance) and it was very cheap. Area the hotel was situated in was a lot better than I'd expected. Would definitely stay there again if we come back to Venice

I informed the front desk that I would have to check out of the hotel in the morning before the breakfast would begin and I requested a breakfast bag to go. I was pleasantly surprised that it was ready for me when I was checking out. I stayed in the executive/double room and it was spacious, very clean and comfortable. This hotel is conveniently located directly across from the Venezia Mestre train station. I also used the ATVO Europabus which has a stop down the street. I bought the round trip ticket from the Treviso airport ticket machine (near the baggage claim)for about 9 euro.

This hotel is a really nice one! The price was rather low for a 4 stars and its location is perfect for visiting Venice. It is just in front of Mestre station and it takes just 10 minutes by train to get to the most beautiful city in the world ;)

Hotel is a good option for your venice visit. Smoke alarm going off in the middle of the night was less than desirable - especially as it was a false alarm. Alarm was only broadcast in Italian which was a bit confusing.

Hotel just renovated the interior. Location is the best. (across the street from railway station you will reach to the hotel) Price a bit higher in mestre, we have to catch the train to venice. If you pay such price we can find the hotel in the island.

Very good relationship between price/quality. Hotel is located in front of the Venice Mestre railway station (in order to catch train to Venice Santa Lucia) and in front of bus line stop n°2 (in order to catch bus to Piazziale Roma). Staff "multilingual" and helpful.

We booked our room online due to a friend's recommendation. The room was fabulous since they gave us an upgrade, but they were very friendly and they honoured our very low online booking price. Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of dishes. Our stay was a very pleasant one and we'd happily stay with them again! The only downside is the hotel location, which is a very industrial area with much construction in progress. A small price to pay for the servie we received ...

Ideal for a short break in Venice when you need to get there and get away easily. Directly opposite the station for quick access to the main island and for ATVO coach transfer to airport. Easier than dragging all your cases into Venice to hunt for your hotel there. And on your last day, they're happy for you to leave your stuff at the hotel, so you can pick it up after your last day in the city before catching the coach to the airport. Hotel itself absolutely fine in my experience. It's not a romantic place to stay but it's utterly practical. I did have a room at the back - probably less quiet at the front facing the road and station.

The reception staff are friendly. As for house keeping, I suggest that it would make the customer more comfortable if their personal items, in both the sleeping room and the bathroom, can be left in the original place as far as possible, after the daily cleaning of the room. Anyway, Hotel Plaza is almost an ideal place to stay for launching day trips from Venezia Mestre to other towns and city nearby. As for hotel surroundinds, Plaza is superbly located as far as travellers who want to use the train and the airport bus.

The Plaza's location is great for busy travel itineraries. The staff is top notch and ready to help at a moments notice. My family was on a busy 10-day touring trip and the easy train access is a big plus, and a short cab ride to the airport when we left was easy. The staff is knowlegable of all local places of interest and transportation, and good at suggesting various options. Our 3 days in Venice were great...and we had a very nice work of art shipped home from the Murano Glass Factory also.

Disappointing. No hotel staff knew anything about trains ( across the street ), busses ( 1 block away ), the vaporettos, almost anything...even stamps. They seemed to want to palm you off to someone else who didn't know. There were no maps at hotel etc. They were unaware of any train combo to the airport. Since we had an early flight, we had to take a taxi and they added a premium to that. The hotel was not as convenient as hoped. It's good to be either in Venice or near the airport as transit was convenient. There was a leak in the bathroom drain and not much soap. It was not a 4 star accomodation.

An excellent hotel. Makes sense to stay here as Venice is just ten minutes away by train with the train station just across the road from the hotel. I got an executive single which was a huge room with plenty of space. Well worth it for the price paid. Excellent buffet breakfast too. The staff were polite and helpful at al times. Had a slight medical problem and they quickly recommended someone who was able to deal with it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was very convenient for the first night after arrival at Treviso airport. The bus from the airport to Venice stops in Mestre close to the hotel. It is opposite the railway station, making it extremely convenient for day trips into Venice or onward journeys by high speed train to other parts of Italy. The immediate surroundings in Mestre are grim, but the hotel itself is pleasant, and the staff are helpful. Breakfast was good quality, but rather spoilt by loud background music.

This was our first time to Venice and the hotel was perfect for us. It was directly accross the road from the main train station with trains running into Venice every few minutes. We found it much easier to stay outside of Venice and not have to drag bags on and off of water taxis and over steps and cobble streets. We would stay here again. One word of warning, if you stay in Venice after midnight, it can be difficult to get transport back to the hotel. The staff at the Hotel were very friendly and helpfull and it was a very nice experience

Ideal location at a great price. Staying here made it so easy to get in and out of Venice proper. Just a walk across the street to the train station. The bus stop that will take you to the airport is a block up the street. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Internet is VERY slow, but we found a great internet point about 1/2 mile away. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay at again.

The Plaza Hotel is a very good hotel at a convenient location for a first time visit to Venice. It's only one euro on the train to Venice and the Grand Canal is right in front of the Venice train station. Couple that with the bus stop and ticket kiosk just a short block away, and the airport is only 15 minutes away..The room was well furnished and clean and the bathroom was quite elegant. Breakfast was exceptionally good and we dined in one evening and that restaurant was very good also, with a good wine list. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Located near the railway station, it only takes 10 minutes to reach venice and a train leaves every 10 to 15 minutes. Our visit to the centre of mestre wasn´t very interesting, it wasn´t worth the trip. Venice is a lot more interesting. The breakfast wasn´t very good. The ´tutti frutti´wasn´t fresh, the bread, cookies, croissants were not very tasty, but one had a lot of choice, from english breakfast to muesli. The service was good and the personal was friendly.

The location is fantastic for riding the train into Venice. Very convenient. My only disappointment was in booking the room online I requested 1 room for 2 persons. Not realizing until check in at the hotel, the confirmation showed -double room, single use-. So upon check in, the great rate I thought I had turned out to be 65EUR additional per night for the extra person. All in all not a bad price, but not the deal I thought I had. The staff is exceptional, public areas fantastic. Best of all is location, location, location. I would definately stay there again. And the parking is a big plus if you have a rental car, which we did.

We got our room in Plaza through competition with another hotel, and had some trouble at check-in over getting the greatly reduced rate that had been offered over the Internet. But the front desk staff did give us the reduced rate, making our stay even better. Our room and bathroom were huge even by American, and were beautifully decorated. Parking is available next door at 5 euros a night. The Plaza is across from the train station, which gives the impression that the neighborhood isn't great, but there are several good restaurants towards downtown Mestre from the hotel. Mestre is a great alternative to staying is Venice with its high prices, questionable hotel ratings, and hassles with luggage. We've been to Venice seven times, staying in Mestre three of those times and taking the train or bus into Venice for the day. The Plaza is an ideal hotel for doing that.
