For 45 euros, it was a great buy. The breakfast had lots of variety and the dining room was actually grand. Room itself was compact but very comfortable bed. Bathroom was like like the size of one in a plane. Internet fee was outrageous -- 10 euros for 3 hours! Just go down to the "Soul Kitchen" of the Hotel Plaza (across from train station) and get a coffee and brioche for 1,70 and stay on the internet for as along as you like!

Staff were pleasant and courteous. Hotel was very tired and thread-bare. Walls desperately need to be repainted. The rooms were very tiny, and I'm ok with that. Not everyone might be though. Internet access was exceptionally expensive and the breakfast was not worth the 8 Euro per person. Coffee tastes as if it was instant, and with the exception of the boiled eggs, meat and cheese, everything else was pre-packaged, preservative-filled food, including the fruit salad that came from a can. Hotel Aaron was directly across the street from Hotel Piave, and looked exceptionally better. My understanding is that prices are comparable and included internet access and breakfast. Will stay at Hotel Aaron next time. There's a mom & pop ristorante further up Piave, on the opposite side of the street that offered good home-made food. Definitely recommend the cheese lasagna. It didn't look like much, but it tasted like a piece of heaven.

The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good. The room was chilly and there were not extra blankets or pillows. The location and surroundings were good and we enjoyed walking to the terminal past the park. The biggest drawback is the bathroom is very small. We only stayed one night so it worked but would not stay for longer.

Very good hotel for Venice visitors. The best way (which has been recommended by staff) is railways. The minor problem with lightbulb has been solved immediatelly. I can recommend the hotel to everybody.

The service from the helpful staff was very good for the 3 nights we were there. The bus to go to Venice was close by and we could walk to the main train station. The main negatives of the hotel room was that the bathroom shower was too small and there was no brick hob to catch the running water to the drain, so the whole floor got wet, even all round the toilet pan,so we had to place towels onto the floor in order to soak up the water. The 4 beds were too close to each other for the size of the single room.On the web page it said that airconditioning was included, but it did not work.I can highly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget holiday

Delightfully friendly small and quiet hotel, close to the station and the open market. Stayed here on our last night in Italy, took the train to Venice for supper; far cheaper than staying in Venice itself and the train fare is only 2Euro return. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Didn't eat breakfast so cannot comment on food, but room comfortable but small, bathroom a bit dimly lit, but clean. Overall very good value.

We stay here for 2 nights. We found the hotel to be acceptable for what we paid but would not want to pay any more. The rooms were small and a little dated. The walls between the rooms are very thin and can hear everything in the next rooms. Breakfast was poor for the price of 8 euro. Only bread and some cheese and ham provided and tea/coffee. Expected more for the price!! Overall I would not stay here again but for the price it was acceptable. The hotel is near bus route number 2 which takes you into venice island.

This property is located less then 10 minutes from the Mestre train station. The price we paid saves you versus staying in Venice, which helps if your on a budget. The service wasn't the greatest, maybe better if we spoke Italian, but for what is worth, we got our value for the price we paid.

When we checked in, the lady was not friendly at all. I doubt she was suitable for the job. We had problem in the lighting and she never even go to our room to check. She gave us a room out of reach from lift. We had to carry our luggages up and did not give us breakfast vouchers. however, the next morning the man at the front office made our day by offering us apologies and breakfast. Breakfast is the best in this hotel as compared to the rest that we stayed in italy. Breakfast is worth the money. Room is so so and we find it small.

A decent hotel, considering what is considered 3 stars in Italy. The price is decent - for Venice that is. The location has it's pluses an minuses. It is close to the trainstation in Mestre - and this means that you'll get to Piazzale Roma in Venice in maximum 20 minutes; but it also means that at night you can run into some spookie caracters on your way to the hotel. The room itself is rather small, but clean and the furniture is decent. The personel speak english, and are very helpful. It's a good location if you intend to spent your time visiting the city and not laying around in the hotel room all day.

We stayed here on two separate occasions separated by a week while we hiked in the Dolomites. They kept our luggage without any problems. The hotel is relatively close (only difficult with a lot of luggage) to the Mestre train station and train tickets into Venice are only 1 Euro each way. Mestre isn't the nicest place to stay but is much cheaper than Venice.

Avery good alternative to much more expensive hotels in Venice. The hotel is near the train station and it is a short ride to central Venice. Although we asked for a quiet room, kitchen noise was very audible. Also, the walls were quite thin- audible noise from the adjoining room. We returned to the hotel two weeks later- the price quoted then was 5 Euros higher. When I noted we had been there recently and the price was 65Euros the desk clerk gave us the room at that price. The second room was more spacious and very quiet. Breakfast was extra, but worth the price.Overall a good basic bargain hotel for expensive Venice.

We spent two nights in two rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were tiny but functional. The same hotel on Venice-Island would have been three times as expensive - so for the money spent it was ok. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Breakfast buffet was included and lots of variety to choose from. WIFI was expensive and only available in the Lobby. Parking is 10 Euro per day. Very central - just 5 minutes walking to the Train station. Trains to Venice every 10 minutes. Supermarket is 3 minutes away

Hotel was fine, close (5 min. walk) to the station, where every 5 minutes a train departed to venice: ideal! Room was fine, but for one thing: when you finished showering, you had to mob the entire bathroom: everything got soaked. Ah well, the rest was all in order.

The room was very small and with poor furnishing. It didn't had any carpets, but ceramic tiles. The surroundings were not so good, but there was very easy access to public transportation, directly to Venice. Although the location was good, we would not stay at the hotel if ever in Venice. This time it was ok, as we only stayed for one night.

This was my first stay at the hotel and I would definitely not stay there again! The members of the staff were always on the phone when I saw them and even when they saw that I was waiting to ask them something they ignored me. I never got to ask them anything, even when I checked myself in at the hotel the man was talking on the phone and barely could tell me the room number. The room was really really small and the bathroom was like a closet! You could literately sit on the toilet while taking a shower. The only positive thing I could say about the hotel is that it is close to the train station so it is easy to get to Venice, but the surroundings are really not nice and you better eat in Venice if you stay at this hotel because there are almost no restaurants near the hotel. And don't count on the staff of the hotel to help you with finding food, you'll be lucky if you can ask them one question.

On the part of a person of the service we did not like the treatment(deal). We were two nights and one of them with a room without air conditioning for technical problems but they have not had details since we pay the same price. The second day they gave to us the correct room that I saw for Internet. Since the first age enough deprorable. The service well, except for a person who treated us with omnipotence and superiority queriendo to have the reason always.

Stayed at Piave from 30/6/'08 to 4/7/'08 in a single room to partecipate to a congress in Venice. Excellent place to sleep if you want to visit Venice without paying Venice's hotel fares, I payed just 50 € per night which is quite good. Room was provided with a small but practical bathroom, a small table, air conditioning with its own remote control. Surroundings are very quiet and a small walk will bring you to the train station. Surely not a luxury accomodation, but well worth the price. Hotel's people have been very kind and let me leave my luggage on my last day there. If I had to visit Venice on a budget, I'd seriously consider it.

The hotel is excellent value for money. It is a 5 min walk from the train station and an excellent base from which to explore venice. The rooms were clean and adequate. It was 23:00 when I arrived "Piave". because my flight was late. I didn't want to go Venice centre at the midnight, so I booked there for only 1 night, then next day I moved to centre. I wanted "Piave" that it's near to the station and bus stop. location was a letdown. it was little far from the Mestre station. and we couldn't find there easily by the map. but next morning we got a bus stop to Venice centre near the hotel. please explain more intelligiblyon the web site. and it was quiet place so we were scared at the midnight. room was good. I requested a twin bed room. they gave us good room. a twin with big bath room. price was good. quite cheap than Venice centre. (just half price!) in conclusion, it was nice place to sleep for 1 night.

This is a good budget option for Venice, although fairly basic. Very close to the railway station in Mestre (we walked with wheeled bags in about 10 minutes), which is why we stayed as we were catching morning train to Lake Garda after arriving on late plane. From our perspective, this was fit for purpose - although I would not stay here for a Venice holiday unless very budget constrained. We did find a nice Tratoria around the block (north on via Sernaglia, I think) with great food though! Rooms are small and breakfast is very basic (although can be upgraded to full buffet if required). Be warned, it gets very noisy quite early in the morning so don't stay if you like to sleep in at all!

Staying in Venezia Mestre instead of Venezia should be a wise decision cos hotels in Venezia is expensive and dirty generally, and difficult to access, sometimes may need to via water bus. Just 10 min. from Mestre to Venezia by train / bus. Piave generally give a reasonable staying environment for this costing. Breakfast included but not much choices. Air conditioned also. Recommend to try this.

Compared to prices in Venice, this hotel seems like a good alternative, however I found the room a bit too small and opresive. My main concern about this hotel was a member of the reception staff that seemed to be at it at all hours: He made nasty comments in Italian when you asked for something or even lied about things you have asked when explaining to you in English. In my opinion a reception staff who can be constantly rude and unreliable in Italian while thinking you can not understand the language is enough reason to stay away of this hotel, no matter the price.

We enjoyed our visit and this was a very convenient and economical way to see Venice. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. En general, está bien dentro de un nivel medio. We don't recomend you to stay this hotel, because the bath room is very small and the soundproof between the rooms is too bad. It may be because we visited at low season but breakfast was also no good. In any way, I can say that it is not worty to stay hotel with paying high rate even at busy season. I think ranking for this hotel (three stars) is overestimated as with other almost hotel in Italy.

This hotel does not deserve three stars - two maybe.

A pleasant hotel in a quiet location and very convenient for the bus and train stations. Breakfast is typically Italian with a good selection of breads, cakes, fruit etc. Although the bedrooms are small (beds were comfortable)we thought the hotel was good value for money. Mr & Mrs Grace

Quite small hotel, hard to find by car. It was, however, clean, functional, and quiet, and was near the train station. With full set of bags for each traveler, the room was small. A good buy at the price.

The room had 4 beds in it which totally filled the space - very uncomfortable - there was mildew in the bathroom and no separate shower space - so taking shower resulted in soaking wet bathroom - our reservation was not there when we checked in - very noisy - too hot

Hotel is situated close to railway station (5min), but not on the main street. People in hotel are frendly, breakfast is rich, and there is a safe place for car in the backyard. Rooms are small, but clean, and our room was with air-conditioner. A problem can be noise from next door bathroom.

This was the perfect homebase in order to visit Venice. Accommodations in Venice are way overpriced. This place had a great rate and was only a 10 min bus ride right into Venice. The rooms are a little small though. But the staff at the front desk were wonderful (especially Andrea (sp?)), and the breakfast was great. I would highly recommend staying here while visiting Venice!

The Hotel Piave was easy to locate and the staff was very friendly. We drove in so having parking available was perfect. The room was small but we were only there to sleep - clean room, big bed, clean bathroom etc. Great breakfast included. The hotel was very close to the bus that took us directly to Venice for only 1 euro. Not too many restaurants handy but there were a couple. we would definitely stay there again were we to be in Venice.

Very nice location, just a short walk with luggage to the train station for the 7 minute trip into Venice. We stayed here only overnight, as a way station between a late evening arrival at the airport, and proceeding into Venice the next morning.

Everything was as described on the Venere.com web page. The service was efficient and friendly. The rooms were very clean. The airconditioning worked well. The location was extremely convenient. The buffet breakfast was fine. Would definately stay here again.

We liked this hotel, which is located 15 minutes from Venice by bus. Staff is friendly, prices match of what was quoted, breakfast is good. Parking place may be booked for 5 euro per day, although there are not many spots. Disadvantages: - noise in adjacent rooms, you will hear draining water - Rooms are small

My only issue was I was led to believe there was internet access available for guests and this was not the case.
