A decent hotel, considering what is considered 3 stars in Italy. The price is decent - for Venice that is. The location has it's pluses an minuses. It is close to the trainstation in Mestre - and this means that you'll get to Piazzale Roma in Venice in maximum 20 minutes; but it also means that at night you can run into some spookie caracters on your way to the hotel. The room itself is rather small, but clean and the furniture is decent. The personel speak english, and are very helpful. It's a good location if you intend to spent your time visiting the city and not laying around in the hotel room all day.

We stayed here on two separate occasions separated by a week while we hiked in the Dolomites. They kept our luggage without any problems. The hotel is relatively close (only difficult with a lot of luggage) to the Mestre train station and train tickets into Venice are only 1 Euro each way. Mestre isn't the nicest place to stay but is much cheaper than Venice.

The room was small, we take the shower almost in the ( bidet) there is no space. The gentlemen at the front desk was rude. The other people at the frontdesk doesnt give us good advise, bus, ice, meal. The internet is expensive, come on we are in 2009 it should be free. I will definitly choose another hotel next time, Iam the customer, i pay their salary , i should have good service!!!

Avery good alternative to much more expensive hotels in Venice. The hotel is near the train station and it is a short ride to central Venice. Although we asked for a quiet room, kitchen noise was very audible. Also, the walls were quite thin- audible noise from the adjoining room. We returned to the hotel two weeks later- the price quoted then was 5 Euros higher. When I noted we had been there recently and the price was 65Euros the desk clerk gave us the room at that price. The second room was more spacious and very quiet. Breakfast was extra, but worth the price.Overall a good basic bargain hotel for expensive Venice.

We spent two nights in two rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were tiny but functional. The same hotel on Venice-Island would have been three times as expensive - so for the money spent it was ok. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Breakfast buffet was included and lots of variety to choose from. WIFI was expensive and only available in the Lobby. Parking is 10 Euro per day. Very central - just 5 minutes walking to the Train station. Trains to Venice every 10 minutes. Supermarket is 3 minutes away

Hotel was fine, close (5 min. walk) to the station, where every 5 minutes a train departed to venice: ideal! Room was fine, but for one thing: when you finished showering, you had to mob the entire bathroom: everything got soaked. Ah well, the rest was all in order.

The room was very small and with poor furnishing. It didn't had any carpets, but ceramic tiles. The surroundings were not so good, but there was very easy access to public transportation, directly to Venice. Although the location was good, we would not stay at the hotel if ever in Venice. This time it was ok, as we only stayed for one night.

This was my first stay at the hotel and I would definitely not stay there again! The members of the staff were always on the phone when I saw them and even when they saw that I was waiting to ask them something they ignored me. I never got to ask them anything, even when I checked myself in at the hotel the man was talking on the phone and barely could tell me the room number. The room was really really small and the bathroom was like a closet! You could literately sit on the toilet while taking a shower. The only positive thing I could say about the hotel is that it is close to the train station so it is easy to get to Venice, but the surroundings are really not nice and you better eat in Venice if you stay at this hotel because there are almost no restaurants near the hotel. And don't count on the staff of the hotel to help you with finding food, you'll be lucky if you can ask them one question.

On the part of a person of the service we did not like the treatment(deal). We were two nights and one of them with a room without air conditioning for technical problems but they have not had details since we pay the same price. The second day they gave to us the correct room that I saw for Internet. Since the first age enough deprorable. The service well, except for a person who treated us with omnipotence and superiority queriendo to have the reason always.

Stayed at Piave from 30/6/'08 to 4/7/'08 in a single room to partecipate to a congress in Venice. Excellent place to sleep if you want to visit Venice without paying Venice's hotel fares, I payed just 50 € per night which is quite good. Room was provided with a small but practical bathroom, a small table, air conditioning with its own remote control. Surroundings are very quiet and a small walk will bring you to the train station. Surely not a luxury accomodation, but well worth the price. Hotel's people have been very kind and let me leave my luggage on my last day there. If I had to visit Venice on a budget, I'd seriously consider it.

The hotel is excellent value for money. It is a 5 min walk from the train station and an excellent base from which to explore venice. The rooms were clean and adequate. A vist to mestre town centre if possible is recommended as the restaurants offer good italian cuisine that is lacking in most of the extremely touristic locales in venice.

It was 23:00 when I arrived "Piave". because my flight was late. I didn't want to go Venice centre at the midnight, so I booked there for only 1 night, then next day I moved to centre. I wanted "Piave" that it's near to the station and bus stop. location was a letdown. it was little far from the Mestre station. and we couldn't find there easily by the map. but next morning we got a bus stop to Venice centre near the hotel. please explain more intelligiblyon the web site. and it was quiet place so we were scared at the midnight. room was good. I requested a twin bed room. they gave us good room. a twin with big bath room. price was good. quite cheap than Venice centre. (just half price!) in conclusion, it was nice place to sleep for 1 night.

This is a good budget option for Venice, although fairly basic. Very close to the railway station in Mestre (we walked with wheeled bags in about 10 minutes), which is why we stayed as we were catching morning train to Lake Garda after arriving on late plane. From our perspective, this was fit for purpose - although I would not stay here for a Venice holiday unless very budget constrained. We did find a nice Tratoria around the block (north on via Sernaglia, I think) with great food though! Rooms are small and breakfast is very basic (although can be upgraded to full buffet if required). Be warned, it gets very noisy quite early in the morning so don't stay if you like to sleep in at all!

Staying in Venezia Mestre instead of Venezia should be a wise decision cos hotels in Venezia is expensive and dirty generally, and difficult to access, sometimes may need to via water bus. Just 10 min. from Mestre to Venezia by train / bus. Piave generally give a reasonable staying environment for this costing. Breakfast included but not much choices. Air conditioned also. Recommend to try this.

Compared to prices in Venice, this hotel seems like a good alternative, however I found the room a bit too small and opresive. My main concern about this hotel was a member of the reception staff that seemed to be at it at all hours: He made nasty comments in Italian when you asked for something or even lied about things you have asked when explaining to you in English. In my opinion a reception staff who can be constantly rude and unreliable in Italian while thinking you can not understand the language is enough reason to stay away of this hotel, no matter the price.

The breakfast was excellent and the service was good too. The guests were mostly couples or groups of more mature friends. The only thing we did not like was the size of the room and the bathroom. It was unbelievably small. However when we requested they gave us another room the next day which was atleast a slightly comfortable size. Definitely good value for money.

AS we were only in Venice 2 days we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel but we found it to be adequate. The staff were very good in all departments, breakfast was good, rooms very small and walls between corridor and room not at all sound proof. Bus stop was easy walking distance from hotel and the trip to Venice approx 10 minutes.

We were very pleased with accommodations at Hotel Piave in Mestre. We only stayed one night enroute from Florence to the Venice airport. We were assigned a non-smoking room, as requested, which was very clean and had an excellent buffet breakfast the following morning. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Mestre train station and the bus to Marco Polo Airport. We had checked other hotels listed on the internet and Piave was the only one with a modest price as well as having breakfast included. We definitely recommend Hotel Piave.

The receptionnist of the afternoon of my arrival has been quite rude! The bathrooms are ugly and the Hotel is really noisy: I heard all the conversation of my neighbours.

Very nice little hotel. Within a few blocks of the train station to Venice. About a 5 minute walk. Keep in mind that Air conditioning is not allowed to be on until June 1st of the year and the walls are relatively thin so noisy neighbors can be heard and can disturb sleep. The shower was very odd. there was a tub with no door or curtain and a hand-held showerhead attached to the wall in such a way that water would get all over the floor.

It was o.k, but just o.k. Room was tiny and the directions to hotel were difficult to follow. Breakfast was lovely and staff were nice. I accidentally left some property in my room and am still having great difficulty retrieving it. Staff have been slow to help in this regard.

We were most pleased with Piave's location, relating to the RR station & our ability to get into Venice. We always seek bed & breakfasts plans where we stay & were quite satisfied with Piave's offerings & the concenient time slot for breakfast. However, after meeting a European couple staying there in a room like ours, we were upset to learn they paid significantly less for their B&B accommodations than we did. Do Europeans offer better rates to Europeans?

Good for budget travellers as its excellent for price/quality. Nice value for 3 star hotel. Make sure to find the check-in time as we reached at 11 am and had to wait till 1:15pm to get the keys as the room was being serviced. Nice staff, well behaved and nice dressed, speaks english. Nice Breakfast, unlimited. Well connected to Mestre Rail and Venice. Good frequency of bus to Venice(bus no.2). Journey time is 10 mins from hotel to Venice(Porta Roma). Buy a travel card valid for 24 hours(Euro 10.50) and will cover bus and water taxi. Avoid travelling on Gondola or private taxi...pretty expensive. Also avoid buying or eating at St. Marks Square. Dont even dream of sitting on one of those chairs at the square where music is played. They will rip you off. Will recommend this hotel to friends.

A good room for the money. There was a very nice buffet breakfast. The staff was competent and helpful. I had problems with the phones (rotay rather than touch-tone).

The service and facilities were excellent and we were very content with the quality of the hotel, services and the employees, who were friendly, helpfully and make us feeling at home. Also this friendliness unforunately couldn't stop the rain, but made them endurable....we will sure come back to this hotel at our next visit to Venice, which sould be very soon... PS.: Excellent "Noise Level in Room" means that it was very silent.

The hotel was very easy to find because it was so well marked on the road. Just look for the yellow sign. The service was competent and the room was smaller than we thought, but comfortable and very clean. It was a relief the return to Mestre from Venice, because we found Venice so intensely touristy, whereas Mestre was much more typical of Italian life. The breakfast was good and varied with meats, bread, juice, coffee, yogurt, cereal, milk, fruit. The breakfast room was very nice. Basically it was everything a three star hotel would offer. When we needed a taxi at 5AM in the morning to go to the airport, it was arranged and there on time, though I think the driver bumped up the price 10 Euro. Get the price confirmed before you take the taxi. If you want to buy food to eat in the hotel, there is little in the way of stores, other than very small in the area. There is a PAM Supermercato, but it is 20 to 30 minutes walk down the road. Past the statues, past the Centro Scarpa shoe store, then turn right for about 5 blocks.

We stayed at the Piave on Mar 6, 2004. We stayed in a triple room with one king bed and one single. The non-smoking room reeked of smoke and had a heavy "cleaner" smell that was an attempt to cover the smoke smell. The bathroom was VERY small, with a drain in the floor for the shower--don't trip on the toilet! There was a lot of street noise and noise within the hotel itself. On a positive note, it was very convenient to the train station, and the breakfast and breakfast area were nice. The employees were also helpful.

The Hotel was reasonable and satisfied the need to be near to Venice, and was value for money. A little too much noise could be heard from adjoining rooms bathrooms.

We stayed in a new room that was next door to the main lobby. It was very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. The train to Venice was within walking distance. We would defintely stay here again.

Not a terrific location, but worthwile if you need to be close to the Mestre railway station. Otherwise, the rooms are small and not very nice. We paid a $100 Euro, and didn't feel like it was worth it atall.
