Hotel Ducale - Favaro Veneto, Mestre

The morning hostess in the breakfast room, Patricia, was outstanding. I give her 5 stars (10 in your rating system) for excellent service. She went above and beyond her duty to accommodate us. Thanks, Patricia!!

We (me and my wife) liked our stay - good breakfast, kind personnel, clean room. Convenient connections (public transportation) to Marco Polo airport, Venice and Mestre rail station.

This was my second time at Ducale, the first i was quite satisfied because of the breakfast and the price at that time was good,but i complained about the size of the room at that time.Now, this secnd time i had to pay a little more BEcause the period is high demand but now i got even a smaller room, i though it was impossible!, not fridge,not enough space to place my stuffs.We asked for a double room and we got a one huge bed room with less than 50 cm. in each size from the bed to the wall to place my bags, SO uncomfortable!.I arrived at noon and i had to wait till exactly 2pm to got my room, in others hotels they are more fleixble with the time and they can give you the room a little more earlier,but this time i had to wait at the living room with my bags for 2 hours and at exactly 2pm the lady of the reception gave me the key,and after all that waiting i found to have a super tiny room for 2 people, i was lack of air in there so i had to walk out of the room several times to the hall to refresh myself, not space to walk,the bathroom door didn't open completly cause the sink didn't let it, not so happy this time with the ducale.

Fantastic value for a hotel so well connnected to Mestre (Venice) and Marco Polo with a free shuttle to airport. Very good breakfast also

Internet is not free. Hardly any restaurants nearby, just snack bars. Bus 25 from airport. Bus 19 to Venice island. 1.20 euros one way. Buy bus tickets from tabacchi shop across from hotel.

This hotel was excellent for visits to Venice and was very close (5/10 minutes) from Marco Polo Airport. The bus services (Nos 4 and 19 to Venice) ran every few minutes, took about 20 minutes and cost a couple of Euro return. The bus stop was around the corner from the hotel - at most 20 meters away. There is also a direct bus service (No. 45) from Marco Polo. The directions to the hotel are simple - leave airport turn left. The route is on a lightly trafficked road. Really pleasant hotel and well worth the rates charged. It was clean, well decorated and welcoming. The breakfast variety was huge and there is a restaurant 100 meters away towards Marco Polo that was also excellent and good value too. All I would say against them is to avoid the third floor rooms. They are set into the roof and got very warm at night without the air-con on full (in fairness though it was 27/30 degrees during our stay).

We were in Ducale Hotel like in our home. And very good staff.

Very good value. Not that much to do around the local area but only a short(ish) bus ride straight into venice (buy your bus tickets at the shop directly opposite the hotel). A supermarket, 3 launderettes (even thought the receptionist didn't know if there was a launderette nearby!), a couple of places to eat and a few bars and ice cream bars. Breakfast was excellent - good choice, good coffee and very friendy staff. All in all a great stay (we booked for 2 nights but stayed for 3).

Very nice hotel with good ratio quality/price! The staff's courtesy has been very good. Location at few kiometers from Venice: in front of the hotel there is a tram stop.

Excellent value for money, great hospitality and courtesy from the emplyees. Good logistics toward Venice downtown which is reachable in 20-30 mins by public transport stopping at 50 meters far from the hotel (2.2 euros round-trip!).

Only one restaurant within 15 minutes walk. It was good. It is OK to stay there for an early flight out of Marco Polo airport. Otherwise the location has nothing to offer.

I recommend staying here if you want to visit Venice. I saw many tourists dragging luggage across the various bridges and canals of Venice and I was glad we had only a short bus ride from the airport to our hotel. Bus service was quite good from the hotel to Venice and back and cheap (1.50 Euro).

Hotel location not great. Looked good in photos etc, and was neaar the Airport in Venice, as we waanted, but arriving at 9.30p.m. and no place at all to eat, unless you drove for miles. Room small, dark, oldfashioned, nothing to redeem it. Bathroom, terrible. I was sorry I booked it. I had booked 9 hotels for our trip and this was the worst.....on the first night, but it got better, as we moved along!

Nice hotel, well communicated by bus from the train station, a little far though but so close to the airport that it is worth it. Very good breakfast with a great choice of food, not only the continental kind of breakfast offered in other places. It is close to a little mall if you want to go shopping before going back home. They have internet service available for the guests in the lobby.

Returned from cruise, 1 nt needed prior to intl flight. Location great for airport departure, but not for local dining. Surrondings questionable.Only one local restaurant good. Hotel breakfast fantastic, great coffee. Quoted free transfer on confirmation, but had to pay 10.00euro for transportation on Sunday to airport. One staff member said free, second staff member said the 9am departure free, and upon checking out, told charges of 5 euro ea applies.

Hotel was great and what we expected. Efficient reception, helpful staff, clean facility, excellent breakfast included in price. Our only complain was very poor directions given on our booking confirmation form. Get specific directions ahead of time by using mapquest or calling resort, it will save you an hour or more.

We were disappointed that they charged us $32 for a 5 min cab ride to the airport. It was their own shuttle which was free during the day but we had to leave the hotel at 5:30 AM for an early flight and there were no other choices at that hour. Also we discovered ,too late, there were 3 couples who went at the same time but they never offered to take 2 couples in one trip. They took advantage of the situation. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was meager. There is a regular bus that stops right at the hotel and goes directly to the main bus,water bus and train terminal in Venice. For about $10 you can ride the buses and water bus on the grand canal all day, on and off.

Very nice and professional staff. The room was comfortable and the breakfast good. Transfer to Treviso Airport very expensive (€ 60).

This was a terribly disappointing end to our trip and was the worst hotel we have ever booked through Venere. It was not helped by the fact that the main reason we booked it was because they had a shuttle bus to the airport but on arrival we were told that this did not start operating until 9.00am, and therefore was too late to get us to the airport for our flight. The room was small, dark and noisey, sitting above a bar and two main roads. The shower in the bathroom also had mould.We were told there weren't any other rooms but it felt more like because we perhaps hadn't paid the full price we weren't getting one. The only consolation was that there was a decent bus service back to Venice so we were able to escape this dreadful place for the evening. There was a bus to the airport but they even gave us the wrong times for that in the morning - thankfully by then we had allowed for this and managed to catch one. No positives for this hotel at all.

We enjoyed our stay here. It is very close to the airport, in fact we walked there and from there we took a boat taxi to Venice. It is a great place to stay to see Venice because it is close and much cheaper than staying in Venice. The breakfast was also amazing!

Hotel have good bus conetcion with Venecia. Is quite and have a good breakfast, staf is very frendly and helpfuly.

Spend two nights at Ducale.Very nice hotel in Mestre with air conditioning and very clean.The staff was very helpfull and breakfast is good.I would definatelly recommend the stay at Ducale.

We stayed one night due to the very early departure from Marco Polo airport.

Déçu du non fonctionnement de la climatisation,d'ou obligation de dormir la fenêtre entr'ouverte,(de plus l'armoire empêche d'ouvrir correctement la fenêtre)donc bruits de l'exterieur.

Very good location, clean and calm. Unfortunatelly a hudge japaneese group took a lot of space in breakfast room.

The hotel is in a good location if you want to visit Venice via bus. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel, which is very easy to find. However, if it was not for the hotel's restaurant (which we enjoyed), there would not be many restaurant options.

We have stayed at the Ducale twice and have been very satisfied on both occasions. It is so close to the airport and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This stay we had a very early morning flight and, though it was expensive, the hotel van and driver were available to get us to the airport by 5:30 AM. This was greatly appreciated. The bus to and from Venice is very convenient making the stay more palatable as Favaro Veneto iteself is not an attractive or interesting place to stay. However, we found good food in local restaurants and the hotel restaurant and our room was more than adequate, clean and comfortable. Would have appreciated an English channel (CNN, SKY, etc.).
