I chose this hotel because it is very close to Venice and the prices were very convenient. I think that the quality of the service offered is very good respect to the price: despite the building facade is not very attractive, rooms are clean, tidy, spacious and beautiful, then breakfast (included) simple but abundant, staff very kind. I parked my car in a public lot 200m far from the hotel and daily fees were definitely reasonable. Bus stop to reach Venice is close to the hotel and it takes just a quarter to get to the city. I was travelling with a small group and everyone is in agreement with my feedback.

The hotel lacks of air conditioning and Mestre is extremely hot,and outside was very noisy so it is not possible to open the windows for refreshing the room. The guy who is permanently at the reception during the day is quite rude and unhelpful and during night reception can't speak English. The hotel is located exactly on the other side of the bus stop number 7 (direct line to Venice island). Breakfast is ok but not enough.

Good, clean hotel. Despite being located on the mainland it is easy to catch a bus from pretty much outside the hotel into the centre of Venice. Safe and secure, the staff were a little sharp with us when we checked in. If you want wifi you have to pay for it and it isn't cheap! I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere clean to stay and without having too much trouble getting into Venice.

The room was very clean, although the space was smaller than we though. When you open the door of the room, the feeling is that you are entering in a very old hotel. The breakfast was self-service, with only sweet things to eat (e.g: muffins, cakes, coockies, etc). For us was perfect, but if you are looking for continental breakfast, you won´t find it. It´s a perfect place if you only want a place to have a shower and a bed to sleep. The bus number 7 that goes to Venezia, stops across the road. It takes over 15 minutes to get to Venezia. (Line number 7 runs 24 hours)

Wa are a family with children, have been in the hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is centrally perfect located close to Mestre city center, the bus which goes to Venice is just in front of the hotel, takes about 15 minuttes, and is driving every 20 min., there are super markets and pizzarias and a shopping mall. The staff are polite but they are very busy and dont have time to answer questions, and look sometime very tired . the breakfast is very poor, almost nothing to eat, we have been once to the breakfast, and later we had to buy from the supermarket. The room was very little with 4 beds, there were no place to move. In all it is ok property for a short stay specailly because of the location.

A nice place. A 20 minute walk from the train station but very close to buses into Venice as well as to the station. It was really convenient and a good place to stay outside of Venice itself. The breakfast was very good and the rooms had good air conditioning - very important in July and August! Good value for the price.

The hotel is in a good position, close to the center of Mestre and well connected to Venezia. Rooms are quite nice, clean, a bit small if anything. Internet connection is terribly overpriced and there are no other hotspots nearby. The hotel often has large groups of people who can get really noisy even late in the evening. Breakfast is included and acceptable, but not very varied (no fruit, coffee very poor... go to a local bar afterwards). All in all a good, comfortable, not very expensive hotel.

we have stayed here before and will stay again. a centrally located hotel with extremely accommodating staff. rooms and bathrooms are clean, nicely decorated, though you still have to climb many steps to get to them, even with the elevator. they will store your luggage on day of check in and also on day of check out. near shopping, bus stop is right in front of hotel, and near train station. 30 mins from marco polo airport. great breakfast has always been included. also a little ricky to get to if you are driving due to road construction in area. it is directly opposite the POSTE ITALIANE building in P.le Donatori di Sangue.

The hotel is in downtown Mestre and is easy to find. There is a bus stop across the street that goes to Venice train station (Plaza Roma) every 15-30 minutes. The ride itself is only 15-20 minutes, making this hotel an economical and convenient choice as a base to visit Venice itself. We had a comfortable and clean Quad room. The hotel has two types of breakfast - full (with hot meals and more selection but cost 10 euros per person more) and continental. Overall we had a very nice stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Mestre is a beautiful city, very calm, and the hotel is located at the center of the city. We rent a car to visit Veneza and other cities in Italy. The hotel doesn't have a garage and you need to walk 2 or 3 blocks to left the car. Hotel is good, and there is a Concierge that speaks to many languages, include Portuguese.

In one word: a dump. The tiny rooms are not maintained properly. Wallpaper is peeling off. Mattresses were probably stolen from a lucky homeless who'll now have better support for his back. Furniture's fate is not even worthy of campfire wood. Internet room is a one square foot suffocating cell, barely held my breath long enough to book our next hotel.

It served very well to our purpose: have a good location and good connections for visiting Venice. The hotel staff recommended us a garage (we traveled by car) that made a discount just because we stayed at Centrale. The room was very large (we booked for 2 nights a triple room but were accomodated in a 5 beds room)and although it did not have a fridge or air conditioning, we managed to keep a pleasant atmosphere by keeping the balcony door opened. It was a good location and would come back any time we want to re-visit beautiful Venice.

The description of the hotel in the web site is not adjusted at all to the reality. The hotel lacks of air conditioning and Mestre is extremely hot, humid and crowded with mosquitos, so it is not possible to open the windows for refreshing the room. The guy who is permanently at the reception during the day (even during the weekends)is quite rude, noisy and unprofessional. He is always talking by telephone with friends talking about his private affairs whereas passengers have to wait until he conclude for being listened. When we asked for something to control the mosquitos, he answered "the hotel is not responsible of the presence of mosquitos", so the windows must be kept permanently closed. We could hardly sleep at night because the air conditioning does not exist in practice whereas we could not open the windows. Absence of frigibar as well. Common areas and elevators are quite dirty and absolutely careless. The breakfast is heavy but the quality and general hygiene are extremely poor. The hotel is far from the train station; you need a taxi to reach it. We would not recommend this hotel to anybody but specially to families with children; we saw passengers with prostitutes at the lobby. Terrible hotel!!!! Uncredible that it gets three stars.

The hotel was as described by the other former guests, so the comments on venere.com are very useful. In total it was good for the price. So the following words are intended as information, not complaints. At arrival we drove several rounds in Mestre until we found the hotel by chance. The internet page of the hotel www.hotelcentralevenezia.it presents some more photos, but information is of year 2003. The room was completely filled with four beds. We prefered to sleep with open windows, so we heard the scarce vans on the street all night long. We found parking at the place in front of the hotel for 12 Euro per day. The toilet was equipped for handicapped persons (higher toilet seat, handles, shower without barrier, wheelchair accessible washbasin). The breakfast was o.K. We first ate the last cold boiled eggs of the day before and after ten minutes freshly boiled eggs arrived at the buffet. The only thing that annoyed us, was the running TV in the breakfast hall with some bad tuned channel. We managed to switch the TV set off stealthily, but after a while the waitress switched it on again. Now the TV reception was better, but some breakfast yak came. I think no guest was interested in the TV program at all. At that time we finished our breakfast and left with bus number 7 to Venice (its bus stops are next to the hotel, the tickets 1 Euro per travel have to be bought at a newspaper kiosk).

We stayed at Centrale for 3 nights. The room was small indeed, but we didn't want to spend much time in the hotel. Buffet breakfast was good. In the front of the hotel up to 3 cars can stop at a time. We arrived as 4th, so partially stopped in the bus stop. The parking house where we could leave the car, was about 250m from Centrale (at an other hotel). The fee for guests of the Centrale was 8 EUR/day. Cleanliness was excellent. That's not about the hotel, but when you go to a restaurant be careful about what drink you order. On the first day we ran into an orange juice for 4.5 EUR per 200ml. :-)

We were a family of 6 and had a snall double for the parents and a quad for the kids (all over 20-yrs. old). The hotel was not too far a walk from the train station in Mestre, and had a Tabacci sstore and bus stop very near. Becasue the hotel was full, breakfasts got a bit crazy, but the spread was very good and included meats, cheese and eggs. Our only complaint was that the door to our terrace wouldn't close properly, and there were mosquitos that kept us awake. Th hotel fixed the door when we requested it, but there were still mosquitos hiding inside. The other room had no problems at all and was very spacious--the staff were all friendly and helpful!

For a conveneient and inexpensive hotel very near Venice, this is a very fine choice. AC worked well for a cool room for our family of 4. The bus stop for the venice bus is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and the ride is a short 15 minutes to the Piazzola Roma in Venice. The bes thing about staying outside Venice is that you are not rolling your luggage to and from a Vaporetto, through alleys and over bridges, in Venice! Breakfast is great here. Lots of choices and very good coffee. Right around the corner is a new buffet style restaurant - very economical with healthy choices if not old style Venetian or italian. No internet access, as advertised, while we where there. You may want to check on this if internet is important. Very helpful, english speaking staff.

Arrived with a reservation for 2 quads for 8 people. The hotel provided us with 2 doubles. They corrected the error by giving us 4 doubles which was fine but not what we desired. Rooms were very small and showed their age. In one room we had to kill at least a dozen misquitoes and what looked like a grasshopper. AC was good and cold but in one room the AC started to make a very loud clicking noise. We were moved into yet another room which while obviously recently renovated had ants and weak AC. Worse yet other guests enterred that room later that evening due to a mix up over their room assignment caused by the front desk. Overall I couldn't recommend staying here. I know accomodations in general outside Venice are not great and perhaps this hotel is better than we experienced but I certainly wouldn't stay again.

This one "you get what you pay for"... pushing 2 star status. in need of upgrading. it was "ok"...sufficed to provide a place to sleep. Won't stay there again, won't recommend. Very far from train station, BUT, public bus works well to get to Venice or to train station.

Warming welcome arrival. clean room but with some mosquitos during the night. Nice breakfast even though the coffee is a good italian coffee as it should be but it doesn't matter. Good connection by bus to Venice by no. 7, takes around 20 minuts.

Location is badly indicated on their information. We took bus no.2 and got off at the the 1st stop on via Circonvallazione, but we found a hard way to reach the hotel. Please remember to look for the yellow sign "Mestre centro" along the traffic lane for your indication. So far, the hotel at a very convenicent spot to go to and come back from Venice. Don't expect hot coffee from the breakfast. What a shame for an expresso lover, myself.

My husband and I were suprisingly pleased with the hotel. The only thing I can say is, the website indicated an 800 meter walk from the train station. It ended up being 2 km. with heavy luggage in high temperatures. The staff was excellent in assisted us. The bus stop just outside the hotel came every 10 minutes which drove directly into Venice. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking to visit Venice but not spend a fortune on hotel.

staff in hotel very helpful with good english bus stop to venice across the road from hotel 15mins journey to main bus station and then hop on a boat down the grand canal bedroom not huge but very comfortable and clean ensuite no bath but good shower and also clean the only downside was that it was a long walk from train station on the first night but the hotel was in a lovely spot with lots of restaurants and shops nearby ask staff who always gave good advice next time I come to venice I will stay here

The hotel is reasonable and the room was clean and spacious, too. Great value. However, the location was not as close as the site described from the station, especially with kids and luggage on a rainy day, so we took a taxi, and they charged me 13 Euros. The breakfast was nice, too.

The hotel looks as if it was built in the 1960s or 1970s and still has the original furnishings. It badly needs updating to bring it into the 21st century. The wallpaper in our room was covered in scuff marks and first impressions were very disappointing. The room was also very small. Breakfast was good, and the room was cleaned properly each day. Staff were helpful, friendly and competant. The hotel advertises itself as 800m from the station - it's a long 800m !! The number 7 bus from Venice stops outside the hotel, which is very convenient. The bus into Venice is only 100m or so from the hotel. Overall the hotel was good value for not very much money and we would probably stop there again, knowing what to expect, and if the price was right.

The best hotel I have stayed in so far in Mestre. Situated across the street from the bus stop, and 2 minutes walk from the Piazza Feretto. The best breakfast I have enjoyed in a Mestre hotel as well. A couple of small issues though: 1. The lift was not working, and I stayed on the third floor 2. The coffee during breakfast was cold. 3. The TV on top of the cupboard cranked my neck quite a bit to see properly - it was nearly like having the TV on the ceiling.

The hotel's location is superb with the Bus (no 7) leaving 50 m from the hotel and arriving actually at the Hotel's doorstep But.... the hotel is not clean enough it is easily appreciated that it can welcome some refurnishing... 100Euro + parking is a bit too expensive. On the other hand, Venice is twice as expensive

Las habitaciones son pequeñas, muy ruidosas y el ascensor no funciona o es muy lento por lo cual alojar en el 5 piso no es recomendable para personas de edad. No tiene parking y por 57 euros es posible estacionarse a unas cuadras

The smallest room that I have EVER stayed in. The hotel was clean, situated in central Mestre 2 minutes from a frequent bus service to Venice. The staff were OK, but that is all. In the month I spent in Italy this hotel was the worst value for money.

We were only there for one night, arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. What we noticed, it was a really nice hotel. Easy to find in a nice area. The only thing we didn´t enjoy was the noice from the traffic. Twice during the night we woke up because of a police/ambulance.

The hotel was a bit difficult to locate coming from the highway at night. The welcoming was like a cold shower; the man at the desk was in a bad mood (the 2 nights). Perhaps he did like that we asked for the hotel parking (as announced in the web site), there is no hotel parking nor guarded parking near (at least open at 10:00 pm), and our rental car spent the night in the street. The rooms were spacious and clean. The lady at the desk the next morning was kind and very helpful. Breakfast was fair. Transportation to Venice was a plus, a bus (15-20 min ride) running until midnight to Piazzale Roma picks you up and drops you just in front of the hotel.
