Ants in the room. Electric shade only fully open or fully closed. No in between settings. Postage size soap. Not enough electrical outlets in the room. Good access to bus transportation to the train station. Buffet breakfast was good.

My first impression was negative since we were unable to avail ourselves of the "complimentary shuttle" to the hotel from the airport. First of all, it wasn't complimentary-the hotel charged 4 Euros per person and, secondly, you had to call the hotel from the airport whcih was impossible because none of the public phones were working. After wasting an hour and a half attempting to contact the hotel from different phones throughout the airport, we opted for public transportation via bus which turned out to be excellent. The bus left us about 3 blocks from the hotel which ordinarily would be a short walk BUT NOT after a 10 hour flight and having to walk with luggage. The room was small with almost no drawers but the bed was excellent. The hotel was quiet at night and while our initial reacion was negative, we began to appreciate the hotel's many superlatives: its front desk staff was helpful and competent as was the bartender and the restaurant maitre, Bruno. Since there was really no other place to eat at night in the vecinity except for a pizza place, we were pleased to find the food, prices and service at the hotel dining room to be excellent. We stayed 6 nights and every time we saw tourists lugging luggage in VENICE up and down the many bridges we were thankful to have stayed in Campalto which is only a 15 minute bus ride to Venice. The buses, by the way run like clockwork every 15 minutes until 10:00pm.

We stayed here prior to an early morning overseas flight from the airport. We had a newly remodeled very modern room with a view of Venice itself in the distance. It was just a short taxi or shuttle ride to the airport. There was a strike snarling the traffic on the morning we left and the hotel's shuttle was caught in it. The manager assured us that she would get us to the airport and she did. Grazie!

The hotel is nice but very noisy, concrete floors and workers doing there everyday jobs make it difficult to rest during the mid day after a 12 hour trip..stefano the bar tender saved our stay as a very warm and frienddly individual..the hotel has a shuttle bus but never offered by the desk staff...always walk to get on bus #5...THANKS for meeting two ladies from Scotland staying at the hotel who advised us of the schuttle and the need to show the schedule to the desk staff...to rereve...made our trip into venice so much easier....

Excellent place to stay when going to the airport. Reasonable price for shuttle service. We stayed here after a cruise. It was two blocks to bus service to go to Piazzale Roma for the vaporetto into Venice. For those with an early flight, breakfast is a problem since the hotel restaurant doesn't open until 7:00 a.m. but they will provide you with a "box" breakfast of fruit, water, cookies, crackers and jam. Front desk personnel were helpful even if you don't speak much Italian. We had a triple room overlooking the main street and never heard the traffic. The lighting in the bathroom was a little dim due to energy convervation. This hotel is modern and an excellent value.

The room we were given was a TWIN instead of the DOUBLE that we booked - we were told "sorry there are no doubles available". I wonder why we bothered taking the time to BOOK A DOUBLE if it wasn't available. Also, the room we were given had not been cleaned. There was rubbish in the bins, the linen had no been changed, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Upon telling staff, it seemed like such an inconvenience for them to come and clean the room. We had to wait 45 minutes in reception whilst they cleaned the room when we were told 5-10 minutes. We stayed on the 5th floor, which had been recently renovated. The room was nice and modern, though the walls were EXTREMELY thin and you could hear every little thing going on in the adjacent rooms. This was not pleasant. On the plus side, the breakfast is very, very good, and the complimentary shuttle bus to the city is very convenient. I wouldn't stay there again. This place looks like 4 stars from the outside, but the quality of service is no where near this rating.

We stayed on the renovated top floor and loved the very modern decor and great view - best room view of our stay in Italy. We were only there one night and chose this hotel for location near the airport. The bar was not open on that Sunday night, and we really needed it after enduring a long day of train and bus travel. The restaurant was quite nice.

This hotel was in a perfect location unless you really want to stay in Venice. Close to the airport, close to the bus that takes you to and back from Venice for 1 Euro. The staff spoke French, English and Italian. They were very helpful. Nice shower facilities. Wireless Internet was free in the lobby, even though I believe it was advertised as an additional charge. Nice variety at the breakfast buffet.

My wife and I arrived from a cruise at 9 am expecting to be told to wait a long time to get a room. We were in it within 30 minutes. Truly excellent hotel and we plan to go there for a week or so another time, without the cruise. They even gave us a breakfast although we weren't charged for it that same morning. We had dinner there that night and the food was excellent, very real Italian - the Fegato alla Veneziana was delicious. Everyone was friendly and all spoke good english. Very clean and nice decor. Stay there! It is well worth the price - a 4 star value at 2-3 star prices.

In the center of things, Hotel Anthony offers high quality, service and a new facility where everything works and is clean and updated. Love the fact that there are two computers with internet access available in the hotel lobby and they are free to guests! Walk to nearby museums, shops, plenty to do.

I had to stay at this hotel only for one night because of a 6 am flight from Marco Polo. This hotel really exceeded my expectations. The common areas as well as the reception area on the first floor are stylish and welcoming. The rooms are large; bathrooms are very clean; lots of towels and clean sheets. The staff was very well trained and extremely professional. The hotel is literally 5 minutes away from the airport but is not your typical airport location. There are two buses right around the corner that will take you to Venice in 15 minutes if you have some time to spare. One one warning: the taxi ride from the hotel to Marco Polo will cost you around €25 even though the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel is only €13. There is olso a bus for like €1,50 but that is if you do not mind buses.

I chose this hotel for it's proximity to the Marco Polo airport and the FREE shuttle to and from the airport. Except when I called from the airport (for a total of 5 Euro's) the person answering the phone (the one advertised and english speaking) simply repeated the words "OK, OK, OK) and hung up on me multiple times. I finally had to have an airport personel (much to their dismay) call and speak to them in Italian and then the bus did come for me right away. If you stay here be sure to request a room AWAY from the street, it can get loud, but the rooms on the opposite side have a great veiw and all the rooms are spacious. Be leary of purported "non-smoking' rooms, my room smelled like an old wet ashtray, and I was brushed off as crazy until they found ashes and a ciggarette in the "just cleaned" toilet! They report to have internet but it was "out of order" for the day and a half I was there, this could happen to anyone. Overall, decent price, large rooms, close to the airport, and easy bus ride into Venice.

Very good location for someone who has to go to the airport next day but poor surroundings for the night before - we went to Venice for our dinner. Breakfast is very poor and served in an uncomfortable, dark room. If you can´t stand old smoke smell, ask for a non-smokers room; our first room was terribly smelly. The second room was fine, we even had coffee making facilities.

My son and I stayed at Hotel Antony because we had a very early flight in the morning. The rooms were quite large for European rooms and the staff was very helpful and courteous. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for people that want to go to Venice everyday since it did not seem convenient for that but it was very nice, clean and well priced. A bonus was that we needed to leave the hotel at around 4:30 in the morning and the evening desk clerk had ordered a box breakfast let for us when we checked out. That was nice.

We had a car so the fact that the hotel was a good few miles from the vaporetta station was not really a problem but otherwise I was told you had to get a bus or taxi to the canals. We did use a taxi once and it was very expensive. Venice was really nice to see. Tip-buy a day ticket for the vaporettas. Food in venice was nice but expensive. A few days is enough here in my opinion.

The dining room was my first experience with the stereotypical Italian organizational chaos, and the "internet access" described in the on-line description was a terminal in the lobby. Otherwise, it was a perfectly comfortable stay. One bit of advice: Call a taxi yourself. The taxi the front desk arranged charged me €25 to return to the airport and was unable (or unwilling) to give me a receipt. The taxi from the airport the night before? €15 and a receipt as a matter of course.

Overall a very good stay at the Antony. Price was a bit higher than I wanted; espcially since I was only staying less than 12 hours. The dinning room was useless. There was a group of Orientals that precluded the use by other hotel guests requiring us to depart the premises for dinner - this is not a good practice! Would I return? Yes.
