I stayed several times in Venice/Mestre. So far Antica Villa Graziella provided the best price/quality ratio. It is very easy to get to Piazza Roma in Venice from the hotel location by public transport. I will return there for sure.

Everyone working there was so nice! They also help you with directions into Venice and are so detailed. The location is great to get a bus to the airport or into Venice Pza. Roma Its in a neighborhood by a big grocery store and and great restaurant nearby called Santa Anna--good prices and good food and friendly.

Hotel staff is very welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and bathroom is a decent size. Outside garden to take breakfast is charming. It's only a 10 minute bus ride to Venice from Mestre, but during our stay, the bus was always packed to the door, which made the ride very unpleasant.

Hotel only 10 mins out of Venice, staff were excellent, breakfast was good (including a freshly made cappaccino, yummy!). Close to bus stops and two fantastic restaurants (Giardinetto, and a trattoria further down the street that was a local favourite for good reason) We will return!

The decoration was nice, the cleaning of the room great. Is a small hotel but nice. We were not well atended by one of the receptionist - an old man - he was in the bad mood and not helpfull. The restaurant near is very good. Is very close to Veneza but the neiborhood was not very nice. The breakfast was ok.

The hotel was a 15 minute walk from Mestre station and was easy to find given the instructions in the booking info. A tidy home run affair with a small nice garden and dining hall, the experience was fairly pleasant, if a little neutral. The staff are pretty helpful. My only crib is that the rooms are kinda small and so is the bathroom. Overall a good experience and would be recommended to people looking for a good yet relatively inexpensive place to stay in Venice.

OK little B&B, our room was adequately clean, bed was fine. Hotel isn’t in the greatest neighborhood, but is very close to the bus stops to go to/from Venice. Breakfast was disappointing; having very little to offer- you are better off saving the 6 Euro per person and going to the nice local coffee shop located on the way to the bus stop. Bus tickets (1 Euro per person per direction) and directions to/from Venice are available at the B&B. Limited parking is available inside the property gates, but is sufficient for the size of the place. No Elevator, which was slightly annoying having to carry our bags up 2 floors through a rather narrow staircase. Overall our stay was fine, some of the staff is very nice and all speak English.

Excellent hotel just outside of Venice. This was the best hotel or hostel that we have stayed at in terms of information available. They had a map detailing exactly where the bus was to get into Venice (10 minute bus ride for 1 euro) as well as restaurants in the area. Very well laid out and extremely helpful staff. Free internet access on their computer, grocery store around the corner and like a 5 minute walk to the train station! Very good experience overall!

This is small, seemingly family run hotel on the mainland, not Venice island itself. It's situated in a dull suburb, but the staff have a big map in the foyer that makes getting the bus to the island a piece of cake. They also sell the bus tickets! The rooms were fine, but the staff were exceptional. All of them were so helpful and friendly and spoke fantastic English, qualities I didn't find that common on my stay in Italy. One of the girls also spoke pretty good French. A great place to stay.

Small hotel in a quiet residential area with friendly staff who spoke several languages. Our room was small but as we were there only to sleep it was fine. Breakfast at 6euros was acceptable..great coffee. A few minutes walk to the no6 bus which takes you straight into Venice in 10 minutes and costs just 1Euro. Easy trip to/from airport. Buy the 1/2 or 3 day pass in Venice, great value. Burano nicer and cheaper than Merano.

We arrived late on the day of the check in, and because we had called ahead, the hotel staff stayed till 1 AM. They stayed till we settled in, and were comfortable. The staff were friendly, and provided excellent service with a smile. On the day we left, the hotel allowed us to park and leave our luggage for hours after we had checked out. A very pleasent experience, one I would recommend very much. The bus route is close to the hotel, a 3 minute walk, and the hotel lent us a book (at not cost) for sightseeing in Venice. The bus number 6 and 6/ go to venice P. Roma, and this allows easy access to and from the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Graziella. For us it was ideal. We took the bus to Piazzale Roma and then the boat right to St Marco square (45 min for the whole trip). The lady who welcomed us at the reception was very friendly and knowledgable and was happy to answer all our questions. The room was basic and small, but really all we needed, because we wanted to see Venice and not a hotel room.

Well Venice is expensive and this hotel was graded correctly as a 2 star. The room was small for 3 adults and the bathroom area was small. No restaurants nearby. On the big bonus side was the helpful staff, the secure parking, the ability to get into Venice easily (bus very close and very frequent) and we found a supermarket very close by. The staff were also happy to let us use the internet to check emails etc.

We had a triple room for 3 adults, which consisted of a double bed and one of the bunk beds that was pulled out from the wall. Everything was clean, including the bathroom, except my sister realized the next morning there were little brown ants all over her bed. We thought there were probably kids in the room prior who had food. The room, however, was new looking and so was the bathroom. The air conditioning does not stay on without your room key in the slot, so when you're out it's not on and hot when you return to the room. We paid an extra 5 euro for a 'buffet' breakfast, which consisted of packaged cheese, fresh rolls, packaged croissants & toast, butter, jellies, hard boiled eggs and coffee made to order. Not exactly buffet but more typical Italian. The location was outside of Venice, which was fine b/c there is direct bus service (takes about 20 min.) for one euro right around the corner. The lady at the front desk spoke great English and was very helpful with the buses and even sold bus tickets to us, as well as a sheet with bus and Venice "water taxi" info. A good place to stay if you don't want to pay the ridiculous prices for old worn down hotels in Venice. Very charming exterior, too.

Das Hotel liegt zwar in einer Seitenstraße, aber die Hauptverkehrsstraße und die Autobahn sind leider gut zu hören. This hotel worked our well for us. The staff was very helpful (even helped us out with parking while we went to another hotel in Venice for a night). It's a little hard to find..you're close if you see the Holiday Inn...but if you want to save time and money for a night before venturing into Venice it's a good place to stay. We had a little trouble with thin walls, but overall we were happy with this cute hotel

It was the perfect hotel room and staff. The only problem is finding the place, as the directions given are not accurate (e.g. what exit to take). Due to signs placed at roundabouts, we found it anyway, but almost by accident. It is quite easy to take the bus into Venice, and two nice restaurants near the hotel were delicious and inexpensive.

I and my wife rate our general stay at hotel Villa Graziella almost excellent. I would have been excellent if the breakfast had been the he most common for turists travelling in modern Europe and especially in Italy: More nutritious breakfast with real bread made in process of yeast - what italians and most continental inhabitants eat each day and are used to eat, something else than just marmelade such as cheese or meat on bread, to that yughurt or processed sour milk, orange juice and boiled eggs. Car park could have been more easy to use without the risk me to have change place for it if another guest must use his car. To that, we hade some difficulties to find your hotel, dispite correct adress and travel plan. We hade to ask twice for correct way to take just before Venice. But, overall, we are most satisfied with you and your competent personel. Nice room with air conditioning. Most regards, Doctor Lars Hellström, Sweden

Stay for two nights in Mid-July 2004. Excellent place to stay if you don't want to be right in Venice. The bus ride to Venice is about 10 minutes and the bus stop is close. We are a family of 5 and needed two rooms. A triple (rm 3) and a double (rm 2). The triple had two twins and a cot making it a little tight on space. The Double was fine. Bathrooms are very modern and the rooms are clean and comfortable - Quiet A/C. Staff was extremely friendly and hardworking. You can tell they want to make your visit pleasant. There was some work occurring on the outside of the building that started at 8am, otherwise the place is quiet w/o street noise. (It's in a neighborhood setting). Arrived via car - parking was free in a gated driveway next to the place. I left the car on the street right in front because of the building work. It was right in front of the door and I had no worries. Would recommend highly if you are not staying right in the heart of Venice.

Villa Graziella is very convenient for day trips into Venice via bus; the stop is nearby, and it's a short ride. It is also very economical and provides free parking in the driveway (you may need to leave your keys at the desk). The staff was welcoming and helpful. But the rooms are very small, and the shower facility was a wrap-around curtain between the sink and the bidet! Amazingly, this worked adequately without flooding the bathroom floor, but it is spartan at best. An adequate option for the budget conscious.

Villa Graziella is an oasis of civilisation in a rather run-down suburb. We were glad to find somewhere near enough to Venice (a 1 Euro bus trip into the city) at a reasonable price. Our only problem was that we had to decide whether to sleep with the draughty airconditioning on, or to cope with the 40 degree temperatures that were around at the time. Overall, this property was as advertised. It was easily reachable from the P.le Roma by the #6 bus, which let off two blocks away. The owner recommended a delightful, though slow, restaurant nearby. Unfortunately, circumstances with their credit card machine used up most of our last Euros. The owner quoted the taxi rate to Marco Polo as 20Euros. It was actually 31Euros and after spending the last of our cash at dinner, we then had to walk to the Marghera/Mestre train station to catch a bus to the airport. None of this was the owner's fault, just lousy circumstances. The shower in the room was simply an L-curtain and water was all over the floor. Being tired and ready to fly home, we didn't much care, though. The owner was very kind and attentive, which in and of itself was a bonus. We were extremely pleased to have air conditioning!
