The Gentleman on reception was extremely rude as soon as we arrived. We were not greeted at all & he demanded to see documents of our reservation. Was also rude to the poor woman on the other end of the phone while we were there We felt intimidated was more like booking into a detention center instead of a 3 star hotel Late night receptionist was more friendly but Hotel needs to sort out greeting their paying guests as this is important first impression Free wifi but didn't work well. Crack in shower head water sprayed from top & positioned way to low over bath. Did let us leave our luggage after checkout till our flight later that day s which was a plus.

Old and dated rooms...VERY dated! Staff was competent enough but not friendly. The rooms are an okay size but TV is a joke...no channels, all Italian and no news! Rooms are noisy and guests kept slamming their doors at all hours of the night, so we heard every guest getting into their rooms on our floor. Location is decent about a 20-25 min bus ride to Venice, but I would recommend a hotel closer. On the bus ride, I saw several hotels closer, in Mestre that looked better. Breakfast was okay, croissants, bread, cold cut and cheese.

This is our 4th trip to Venice and this is the best 3 star hotel we have stayed in. Having first read some negative reviews of the Altieri Hotel I was doubtful about my choice. However, my partner and I were more than satisfied with our stay at the Altieri. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean and importantly, it was very quiet. Breakfast was adequate. Location was perfect. 20 minute but ride in to Venice. Good eating facilities within a few minutes walk. We were able to park our car in the secure parking area. We will definitely be back here next year!

Language spoken neither Italian or English had difficulty communicating. Fire alarms went off in the middle of the night, other guests very loud & inconsiderate of others on the floor. Sleep very disturbed by noise of others. B'fst average, coffee machine very inefficient, not up to the standard expected of Italian coffee.

We used this hotel as a base for visiting Venice and it fitted the bill perfectly. There is a very good Trattoria a couple of hundred metres up the road that we really enjoyed. Just take the number 19 bus into Venice and back....the bus stop is just down the road from the hotel. Can buy the tickets from the newsagent a bit further on by the junction.

We stayed in Venice for 1 night only. Hotel was easy to find, parking was ok, we were nicely welcomed and given a map of Venice and instructions how to reach bus (it's very close down the street, bus travels aprox. 20 min - buy ticket in traffic, in the bus it's 2,5 EUR per way). Room was small, furniture old, bathroom clean but shower looked broken and poor). AC loud. Bed not so comfortable, but clean. TV small. WIFI works. For breakfast you have crossans, tea/cofee/juice from machine, some salami, spreads, and cereals. Overall, for 1 night, it was ok. Cheaper then other hotels in Venice.

Staff were dismissive - either from a lack of English or insolence or just had no idea whatsoever. AC did not work , no fans provided , so sleeping with windows open overlooking the main road proved very stressful making the start of an Italy trip very disappointing.

we can highly recommend Hotel Altieri and especially Georgio as far as hospitality concerns. The breakfast was excellent with freshly baked breadrolls and croissants every morning, as well as yoghurts, ham, cheese, jams, etc. Busstop is nearby (2 mins walk) and you take bus 45 to airport and bus 19 to Venice or tram to Mestre. The area is safe and not crowded. The supermarket is 5 mins walk and pizzeria down the street has the best pizzas. We would definetely stay here again.

I would pay more to get a place in Venice,in total could take an hour including the bus ride (40 minutes), waiting for bus, and walking to Venice from this hotel. Breakfast: bread and croissants were old and dry. There is no complimentary tea/coffee facility in the room, and when we were buying coffee at the reception, the hotel staff said the coffee machine was not working, that was after our sightseeing night, travelling from Venice. The hotel personnel should be more helpful and should provide more information on sightseeing and bus schedules. Found rude one time, when light was turned off leaving a dim light on while I was using the internet in the lounge. As a traveller, one needs comfort and you don't find it here. I will not stay in this hotel again.

We stayed at Altieri for one night in September, 2011. This was a nice, quiet hotel with excellent breakfast and helpful, friendly staff. If you're not planning to live in the center of Venice this place is a good choice. The bus station is near the hotel and you can get to the center in about 20 minutes. Though you may spend extra time for getting bus tickets in local tobacco shops, which on weekends may open a bit later. We would recommend Altieri to travelers in Venice.

Although the rooms were older and smaller, the breakfast served a great variety of foods.By far the best thing about the hotel was the information and advice shared by the owner: she shared maps, routes, suggested tours, what to avoid, restaurants in Venice that were recommended. She was very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The staff were also very hospitable, but she spoke English fluently and was a wealth of insider knowledge about Venice - both schedule-wise for buses and boats, and costs, sights, even walking routes. This saved us a lot of time and money; we were very impressed, since we only had three days to spend in Venice.

The hotel ALTIERI in Mestre wasn’t that fantastic, very small rooms and not too clean. I can’t understand why they have 3 stars, this looks more like 1.5 stars. The breakfast was good. It’s OK for one night, but that’s the only thing I can say. Probably due to the high season it’s not easy to find better for a decent price.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night, that is, spent less than 24 hours. Nevertheless, we grade the hotel high - it is clean, comfortable, with good breakfast. The room is small but we returned to the hotel from Venice only by night, and in the morning, after breakfast, checked out. The bathroom is also small but clean, having practically all the things needed - soap, shower gel, hair-dryer, set of long and short towels. At night, there was no noice around the hotel as it is situated in a restful spot. It was convenient to reach Venice as well as the railway station in Mestre by bus. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend, and, moreover, will stay there in our next visit to Venice.

We had a early flight to catch, and hotel provided wake up call and arranged taxi (20 euros) in good order. We were able to have coffee before departure, too early for breakfast. Get to the hotel from Venice bus station near train station Sta Lucia on bus 19, 4 or 4/ (about 2 euros). Mall with large supermarket is about 400 meters from hotel, with only real restaurant just past the mall. Other small pizza and other stores nearer hotel. Of sixteen florescent bulbs in overhead and bedside lights and bathroom, three worked, so room rather dim.

The best of the hotel is a) to be near to Venecia. There is an bus stop very near to the hotel. The bus spends 30-40 min to go to the center of Venecia. 1,8€ go. b) to be near to the aerport: 4 km. So, it is and unexpensive option for to visite Venecia and for to be nera the aerport Marco Polo. The price is good, the brekfast is OK, but the room was not enough clean, at least the floor. The Hotel is great. Anyway, as all the accomadations are expensive in Italia, we can say that the relationship between price/quality is excellent for Altieri Hotel. It takes us 20 min by bus to reach Venezia bus station and the latest bus is around midnight to come back. The bus stop is around 100m near the Hotel. It costs 1.10euro each way. I recomand this Hotel especially if you have a car because the parking is free of charge. Of course, it's more fun to rent a place downtown but parking your car there is a real problem.

Took taxi from airport since we arrived at night and raining. Charged us 16 euros since there was no traffic. Used bus 19 in front of hotel to get to central Venice and then the water bus. Breakfast was a full buffet and good.We used this hotel for only first night - should have used it for the whole time in Venice!

Directions to the hotel were problematic - it took us an unnecessary waste of time until we eventually reached the hotel !

The rooms are clean and spaciouss. Personal at reception desk is very kindly. She provides us complete information about Venice, timetable of buses going there and also the tickets! We think that Favaro Veneto is a good place to visit Venice. It is possible that I return there many times

The room was very nice and spacious. We enjoyed the balcony overlooking the street. Everyone was very helpful when we asked about bus routes to get around. The breakfast was great too. We loved the hot rolls!! The bus stop was right down the street so that was convenient. Overall I was really impressed with everything from the staff to the accomidations. I definately recomend it!

We received a room on the cold side of the hotel. The Air Conditioning was on all the time, and you could not turn it off. We were freezing. The hotel staff in the beginning just responded bluntly: it is like it, we cannot help you. At the end and after a lot of complaining they changed us the room
