Hotel Alla Bianca - Marghera, Mestre

My only complaint is that our air conditioner did not work! The room was huge and had a murphy bed and a queen size bed, the bathroom was average. Our stay was great except the AC issue. Breakfast was acceptable, good coffee. We walked to bus station a few blocks away and took a bus over to Venice proper in less than 30 minutes. We only spent one night so I can't really comment on service since we left early morning. Americans, first time in Europe, and we felt very safe and comfortable in this neighborhood.

Firstly, I cannot fault the hotel room or cleanliness. The room was very modern, had a fantastic ensuite (great power shower) and was very comfortable. The breakfasts were great and very reasonable at 5 euros each. There was plenty of fresh bread, fruit, cereals, croissants etc and limitless tea and coffee. But, the hotel takes a lot of finding and had it not been for data roaming on our phones, we would have struggled. We took the bus from Marco Polo airport to Mestre station and walked from there (around 20 mins). Looking back, we would definitely have taken a taxi from the train station at Mestre, as it wouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes by car. When we arrived at the hotel (around 7pm), we tried to buy bus tickets to get into Venice (indicated on the venere website that this was possible) but we found that this was not the case. The lady on reception told us that the hotel did not sell bus tickets and directed us to a tabac around the corner. They did not sell tickets either so we were stuck! We ended up walking back to Mestre train station and getting the train into Venice for the evening. We successfully got the bus back to the hotel later that evening (again, using data roaming to help us track our journey as it was dark by then). We bought lots of bus tickets from the bus station in Venice that evening to make sure we wouldn't be stuck again. Once we'd sorted the bus tickets and grabbed a timetable, it was easy to get back into Venice and very cheap too (little more than 1 euro). The buses are every hour, but are always busy so we had to squeeze on every time. In a nutshell, yes the hotel is great, but be more organised than us when planning your journeys into Venice! Buy enough bus tickets for your entire trip as soon as you get into the area and you'll be fine!

Comfortable room - welcoming and helpful staff - quiet, calm down - parking lot public and deprived in front of the hotel - bus for Venise to 100 meters

We stayed in two rooms - there was a mix-up with the reservation, so they did not have the superior room available, which we had initially requested for the first night. The first room had three single beds - so we had to push two together to make a king size. Not the most comfortable pillows, either. The bathroom in the first room was very very tiny and the bidet was in the same closet as the shower. The second room was great! There was a proper shower and the whole room was very spacious. The breakfast was great for 5 euro pps which included freshly made cafè to order as well as tea, toast, brioche, yogurt, mini-nutella, etc. A great price for all that was offered considering you can pay 4 euro at a bar for a brioche and a cappuccino. The location was nice in a tranquil part of Mestre...you have to walk about 7 minutes to get to the bus which takes you right into Venice. Very convenient if visiting Venice as you don't have to lug your bags across all the bridges. We took a taxi from the station initially which was about 15 euro...quite the rip off as it's about 1km away...very accessible by bus which we later realized. We actually walked to the station on our way back which was FREE! Overall I feel the price was a bit high at 80euro per night. We stayed at the crowne plaza in Dublin for 60 euro and it was leagues better than Hotel Alla Bianca. BUT, you pay for the destination and Venice is EXPENSIVE. Will stay here again if visiting Venice.

All Bianca was a great hotel. We enjoyed our one night stay there. They were very helpful in directing us to bus service to get into Venice. It was a great location and right on the bus line to Venice.

We stayed at Alla Bianca Hotel for 5 days in september 2010 in a double room. The room was clean,fairly spacious, bathroom big enough. Bus station is near the hotel, about 2 minutes. You can buy bus tickets directly from the reception of the hotel, bus that goes to Venice. About breakfast we can not say anything because we only paid accommodation...but from what I saw breakfast consisted of fresh croissants, tea, coffee,... We highly recommend to others... even if it is close to the port industry is not disturbing.

This was the best hotel I have stayed in in Mestre over the last 10 years. Perfect location to reach Venice as well: bus stop to Piazzale Roma is cca. 50 meters from hotel. Will come back.

An excellent choice for anyone who wishes to vist Venice, particularly if you arrive by car; free, safe parking available at the hotel. There is a bus stop at a very short distance from the hotel for buses that take you directly to Venice itself in only about 10 or 15 minutes. Buses pass every half hour. The hotel is very clean, and despite it's proximity to a main road, the area immediately surrounding the hotel is quiet. I would stay here again as it is easy to reach Venice, is clean, and costs less than you would pay for a comparable hotel in Venice. We had one small problem with our reservation, which the staff resolved quickly and graciously. The only drawback I would mention is that the bathroom is very small; anyone who is particularly rotund might have trouble navigating it.

A friend suggested me to stay at this hotel as it is low cost and close to Venice. It turned out that she was right. I am very thankful to the people in the hotel! They assisted in everything I needed. Especially the day before leaving I told the receptionist about a problem I had with my tire and he very kindly advised me to go to his friend who has a service place for cars and he fixed the problem quickly! So, apart from the helpful people the room was VERY CLEAN and spacious! The bus stop for Venice is just outside the hotel, which is very convenient, though on Sunday afternoon the buses are not very frequent. car parking is very easy either in the hotel which is equipped with CCTV or in the streets near by. The only problem was that my neighbors were slightly noisy and I could hear them inside my room, i think the noise isolation is not very effective.

We stayed in Alla Bianca for visiting Venice. Therefore this Hotel is almost perfect. The bus start and arrives in opposite of the Hotel, the journey takes about 15 min. The Hotel was very clean, all stuff were very friendly and helpful. Just the breakfast is "italian style". We would definitely stay there next time again!

Great place to stay right outside of Venice. Only a 10 minute bus ride to Venice. Great service and great rooms.

Price and quality relationship was well but the hotel is fairly difficult to get to and if it wasn't for luck we may have not been able to get there at all!

Rooms were spacious, clean and neat. Bathroom was very small, but it was clean and had required ammenities. Hotel was clean and was in residential area. It was very close to bus stop. Staff understood english and very friendly. Owner himself has to work in the morning and serve breakfast. I would recommend anyone going to venice stay in the hotel since it not to far from Venice as the rooms in venice can be pricy and small and untidy. There are enough bus service to Venice and it takes 15 minutes to reach venice and cost 1.20 Euro

Stayed 3 nights. Very convenient for bus into Venice. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Arrived 9 pm not much near the hotel to get food or drink though we did find one bar. (The 'bar' in the hotel is a fridge!!) Bathroom very small.

It is very difficult find the bus stop when take No.11 bus.No obvious flag,no bus stop name(all the long road is a same stop name) If you familar with the location,then no problem. The bus interval is not so offen in the morning and night

Highly recomend , as for the buses much easy with train, ask at reception for the walking route direct to train station ( under the rails 10 min brisk walk )cross two roundabouts ,:-straight over 1st , and on the 2nd roundabout take the 11 o clock exit, from airport take bus to Treviso 15 min , and train to mestre , I took taxi to hotel as not easy to find on foot £10

What a great hotel at an incredible price! Such friendly people, too. I never expected a hotel this good for such a low price. I recommend it wholeheartedly for those willing to stay a mere 12 minute bus ride from Venice.

Very good hotel, clean, calm and staff okay. But they could provide a cheaper Wi-Fi internet service price (It cost 5EUR/hour). Also, the reception do not have maps of Venice to provide the guests.

Rooms clean but basic. Excellent value but difficult to get to late at night, (After a 3 hour flight delay!) Bus stop right outside hotel which brings you into venice in about 20mins. Overall it's a cheap option for a city as pricey as Venice. Recomended.

This hotel is on 'main-land' Venice. A bus station to the island is within walking distance from the hotel. We did not have tickets for the bus and the driver would not sell tickets; luckily he still invited us in so we got a free ride...still, would have been nice if the guy at the hotel's reception had explained us where to buy tickets.. Our room was clean, spatious, and newly renovated. Breakfest was not included and it costed 5 Euro / person; breakfast was limited variety but fresh and good quality (plus really good coffee).

The hotel was as advertised and very clean, but it was located in the shady, prostitutes mile, something that freaked me out a bit, and kept me from using the nightbuses (20 min walk from the hotel)

A very clean, quiet and comfortable hotel. I like it very much but it's a little bit expensive for me.

Hard to find at first but well worth the price paid. Residential area-Quiet and only 4 minute walk to bus. There were three of us travellling Europe together. This was the perfect place to stay as Venice can be quite expensive. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations! The service desk even offered to drive us to a grocery store if needed.

A nice hotel close to venesia by bus, just take care that on sunday there are not so many buses. People were really nice and we had a really nice room.

We travel with a baby, the place was easy to find, well located, easy transport to Venice by bus. Bus stop just in front of the hotel. If I come back I would stay in this place for sure. Owner and employes are very friendly. Give us maps, indications and even they sell the bus tickets on the desk. Place was clean and air conditioning working so we enjoyed a lot our stay.

Il personale è stato molto gentile. Le camere accettabili. Unico neo bagno un pò piccolo e cattivo odore dagli scarichi. Hotel comodo per raggiungere Venezia in 10 min. di autobus (fermata bus a 50 m.) L'hotel è situato in zona residenziale molto tranquilla. (la sera per andare in un ristorante bisogna prendere l'auto).

Hotel totalmente ristrutturato,ottime stanze, ottima accoglienza, peccato per il trasporto pubblico che ferma le corse un po' troppo presto(24.00). Unico appunto per la zona,di notte dove si prende il bus è trafficata da qualche prostituta, magari per una famiglia con bambini potrebbe essere l'ideale ma per giovani sicuramente considerato il rapporto qualità prezzo lo consigliamo.

Further from the railway station than I expected based on the web information. Price / quality was good for Venice but still expensive as Venice is generally overpriced!

The welcoming was excellent, i went there for the new year's day, the bus to venice is 20 metres far from the hotel. I suggest this hotel for people who wants to safe a little money to visit venice!

Breakfast absolutely doesn't meet the north european standard, but you get what you pay for...It's the same situation in many Italian Hotels.Good cappuccino. It's easy to reach Venice from this hotel located in Marghera, by bus or car.
