This was our second stay at Al Vivit and again we couldn't fault the service or the welcome. cleanliness and ambience is top notch. The breakfast provided is very good and the hotel is a great location for the bus to venice or just relaxing in the piazza, shopping or eating & drinking in the many great restaurants.

Hotel right on the main public mall. Great staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms on the smaller side. If staying in summer make sure A/C works, ours had issues, along with the fridge.

Lovely location with plenty of bars and restaurants near by. The square in front of the Hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere with lots of good quality shops and bars. It was good to come back after a day sight seeing and enjoy a cool drink in the square.

We stayed at the Al Vivit with some friends in August and all of us felt it was an excellent choice, both for its proximity and easy access to Venice and its location on a lovely Piazza with shops, restaurants and first class people watching. The breakfast was quite good and we were given the choice of eating it in the breakfast room or out on the terrace. I can't say enough about the excellence of the staff. They willingly provided easy directions, bus information, baggage help and answers whenever asked.

We stayed in Mestre one night. Hotel was convenient to public transportation into Venice. It was also located within short distance of the Marco Polo Aeroport. The center of town of Mestre is difficult to drive in because of ongoing road work and one-way streets. Hotel personnel was very helpful in providing informations on how to best reach the hotel and its garage.

Mestre was a good get away from the over populated area in Venice. As an hotelier myself I am spoilt with my own quality but this hotel was well worth it!!Good staff and happy faces. The location of the hotel was very central especially for women who like to shop!!

The staff at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. We were traveling with my 90 yr old mother-in-law and the staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was stess free as possible, Francesca who greeted us upon arrival always took the time in our two day stay to drop by and say hello and see how "Nonna" was doing. The only draw back is that it is quite a distance from Piazzale Roma the jumping off point for Venice but if one is not adverse to a bus ride it works out just fine. If you are driving be aware of the fact that the hotel is located on a pedestrian only street but hotel guests are allowed to drive on this street, I wish the hotel had advised us of this fact before arrival because we drove around and by the hotel on three occasions before one of us walked to the hotel and were then told we could access the pedestrial mall with the car.

We chose to stay for two nights at this hotel in Mestre because we needed to be at Venice's airport for a 7am flight on the final morning. We had stayed in Venice itself earlier in the trip and were hesitant not to stay there again, but this hotel in Mestre worked out beautifully. First, it was much closer to the airport than any hotel in Venice would have been. Second, the staff was always friendly and very helpful. Third, the bus into Venice was quick and fairly simple to master (although crowded on weekend evenings). Fourth, the cafe across the square from the hotel (Paradiso di Gelato) had better gelato than any we had in Venice itself. In fact, it was as good as the best we've had in Rome or Florence. Fantastic, and so many flavors! Fifth, the rooms were good sized(by European standards), and the air conditioning was much appreciated on warm September days. Finally, this hotel is located in a "real" neighborhood. As beautiful and historic as Venice is, it can't be called "real." Mestre may not be beautiful, but it's convenient, affordable, and allows insight into real Italian life.

A nice place to stay when visiting Venice, with friendly and helpful staff, and located in a nice piazza with good atmosphere, with quite a few restaurants and exclusive shops (too expencive for us...). The bus to Venice was easy to find just 5 min walk from the hotel, and took about 20 min to Piazzale Roma.

The staff were very friendly & v helpful. The breakfast was very nice lots of food & the breakfast room was comfortable as well.I wouldnt recommend the food in the restaurant, got a lasagne & spag carbonara couldnt eat them. The bar across way from hotel down a laneway was the liveliest we found in venice.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights from 8 to 10 May 2008 and quite liked it. The hotel is located on a very nice pedestrian square with lots of shops and cafes. We liked the surroundings a lot and did not have any regrets that we did not stay in Venice itself. It takes only 10 minutes by bus (a couple of bus stops are located within 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel) to get to Venice (bus station) but you have a good quality room (clean and quite spacious) for a lot smaller price. It also took us only 30 minutes to get to Treviso airport we were flying from. Overall, staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was a good choice of meats, cheese, yogurts, cakes, breads, fruit and juice. It feels like I missed something because it was really lots of food. Much much better than we could have expected after our stay in Rome 4 days earlier. There does not seem to be a lift at least from the street level to level 1, so be prepared to carry your bags upstairs. One comment on the noise. Our windows were facing the wall of the neighbour building (which seemed to be a restaurant). On our last night it was so noisy - sounds of glass, dishes, conversations between restaurant's staff, that we had to close the windows so we could fall asleep. Besides you need to be prepared for some bells being rung very loudly at least twice in the early morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Al Vivit and would stay there again.

We had an excellent stay in the single rooms we'd booked. Breakfast was very good, served by friendly staff. The surroundings are pleasant, though fairly loud due to the hotel being located in a pedestrianised zone. I recommend ear plugs! Despite the hotel boasting of a free car park, we found parking behind the hotel late at night a rather tortuous experience. Don't go in a 4x4!

This hotel was amazing. The location is splendid, in a wonderful little area of Mestre, that is very clean and has great nightlife. The hotel itself was a gem! Clean and well maintained, with spacious accomodations and a very good breakfast area. The food was also very good. The trip into and out of Venice was painless. When we first booked, my wife was weary of staying outside of Venice, particularly because of bad reviews she had read about the area. However, upon checking in, she was VERY impressed. Going into or out of Venice was a 10-minute bus ride. You don't walk through any "shady" areas, and can pick up a cheap gelato on the way. We will DEFINITELY staying here again!

Enoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very well situated in Mestre which is a short 15 minute bus ride (they run every 5 minutes)to Venice. There is a nice large open courtyard full of restaurants and shops and hundreds of locals use the square to just hang our and chat. It is a very safe and entertaining area. The hotel itself is good with large rooms by Europe standards and great common areas inside and out. The restaurants are good and 1/2 the price of those in Venice!

I would not stay here again. The hotel staff were rude and unwilling to help. We simply wanted to find transportation to the airport, and we expected a 3 star hotel to at least direct us to the nearest bus stop. Instead we were forced to search half of Venice Mestre for a place willing to give us directions to our destination. We ended up getting directions at the Hotel Venezia and found the staff to be so helpful and willing to go out of their way. We realized our mistake in choosing Vivit over Venezia. You shouldn't have to make the same mistake. The Hotel Venezia is even 5 euros less. Al Vivit is the wrong choice for Venice Mestre.

This stay was for businesss as we were to go to the Venice airport the next day. The hotel was decent and in a good location in Venice-Mestre. The room and hotel was typical with other European hotels and was pretty good especially given the low price. The only problem was that my room was right above or next to what sounded like a night club which made it difficult to sleep. Thank goodness for earplugs. Also, when the hotel called us a cab the next morning to the airport it cost 10 Euros more than our ride from the airport for the same distance. I felt a little ripped off and especially since the hotel set the ride up, but we were in a hurry and didn't have time to argue.

Beautiful hotel, easy to find, the room was spacious, clean and cosy but important to say, we booked for a comfort room, maybe the standart room wouldnt be as spacious and nice. Wide choice of breakfast and a nice little terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast in the summer time. The staff at reception was very helpful. I would really recommend this hotel.

This is a pleasent, clean hotel 10 minutes bus ride from Venice, in the centre of a lovely square with various bars and shops. Breakfast was very good, staff helpful and bus stop to Venice 2 minutes walk. Great restaurant/bar very nearby called Gino's - worth a visit. Taxi from Marco Polo cost 15 euros. I would definitely return to this hotel - it's not luxurious but comfortable and has a little roof terrace for those who like to breakfast outside.

Attempting to locate the hotel was a brainteaser since the hotel is located on a piazza and cars aren't allowed in the piazza. The hotel staff has some difficulty directing us to the parking area but finally understood. Took the bus to Venice which was timely but otherwise the hotel and the area were fine.

The location - in the middle of the old historical town, a pedestrian zone, is great! The disadvantage is that on the Saturdaynights, there are very loud (with voluminous loudspeakers)presentations on the nearby Piazza, attracting a lot of people who continunued to be loud and noisy (and tipsy) until about 2 h in the night. We could not sleep.

I have stayed at 5 hotels in Mestre Venezia, all in a similar price range/ rating and I think that the Hotel Vivit is excellent. The hotel is located in the Piazza Ferretto, which has many cafe's and bars, a great place to eat and drink or just spend a few hours relaxing. The rooms are spacious , clean and functional, with more than adequate lighting, power points, and showers that drain. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. This is my second visit to this hotel, and I would recommend it to fellow English visitors. I would give this hotel a five star rating !!!!

The biggest problem was to get to the hotel with a car since it is in a large pedestrian area. The listed private parking was no more than a little alleyway behind the hotel, barely enough to get a car in and out without damage. The web page picture of the entrance is deceiving ( done with mirrors ). The rooms were very nice and big and the bathrooms were very nice. Public transportation to Venice is nearby which is convenient.

Vivit is a very well kept hotel, with friendly, helpful staff. The double room we had was well kept, and well maintained. The room overlooked the Piazza, which meant noisy between 7 and midnight, and at 6 a.m. when the street cleaner arrived. Speaking with guests whose rooms were toward the rear, they reported perfect peace. The staff were very willing to help with information, directions, and diagrams where needed!. The value for money was excellent. Time by bus to Venice was 15/20 mins total. There is a friendly bar opposite the hotel, down the alley called Lee Cooper, where the food is good and fairly priced. Guinness there too! Overall, for someone visiting Venice, Highly Recommended!

Accommodation was accurately described on web site, as regards remodeled condition of hotel. Staff personnel were competent and provided good service with a smile. Only complaint was the noise level of street sounds, which was very loud even fairly late into the night hours. Suffice it to say that I would certainly be inclined to stay at the Vivit another time.

I was extremely pleased with the high quality, well furnished rooms. The reception staff were helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was good although you need to be early to have a full choice of breads, meat and cheese. The location was good for transport to Venice and for the airport. It could be noisey during the day due to the number of people in the square, but no problems at night. The only down side was the lack of variety of reasonably priced restaurants in the area.
