Hotel Al Piccolo - Marghera, Mestre

This place was worse than we expected. The air conditioning that was promised, barely worked and was only on at night and turned off by the owners at 7:30 am, so we were dressing in the sweltering heat. The breakfast was sparse. The owners were somewhat friendly and helpful, speaking only a little English. The shower drain was slow and flooded the entire bathroom, as well as being barely big enough to stand in, The double bed was terribly uncomfortable. The bunk beds for my teens were scary, as they were tiny and rickety. The lights and outlets didn't work over the bed. The door lock was misaligned, so you were unable to lock it properly. The busy street was noisy at all times of the day and night and there was no elevator. I WOULD NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stay here again!!!

The hotel really close to the A57 autostarda, it was not to hard to find it for us. The bus stop is just almost opposite to the hotel. You can reach the Venice easily it's just 30 minutes. Everything was good. Thanks for the hotel staff.

We asked for twin room and got double with not too big bed, which was rather uncomfortable. The room was small and dark. But we got quite a big balcony and the bathroom was acceptable. The air-condition didn't work, so we had to keep the window open whole night. The advice for next guests: take the repellents with you! The mosquitos are everywhere, they bite mainly in the night (in the room). Breakfests are awful. But the hotel has two advantages: good price and bus stop to Venice (no 6) just 5 minutes walking distance.

The staff is very kind and polite, the room was clear it's OK but the nearby road is a bit loud. The downtown is only 10 minutes by bus the bus stop is under the windows of hotel. It is very good hotel, we recommend it.

I had a small problem finding this hotel: we followed description given on the web site but lost. Otherwise everything was eaxcellent,close bus stop,kind hotel owners.

A 10 minutes en autobus de VENEZIA. Hotel vieillot, qui mériterait une rénovation. Climatisation poussive...à partir de 18 heures !

The hotel was clean and simple. The staff there was very nice and friendly and very informative. Good bus connection to the island. (Bus no. 6) A very good choice for a hotel at an acceptable price close to the island.

On the circle next to the hotel there is a nice bar (mostly locals) and a gelati store, we ate gelati every day on our way to the Tabacchi to get bus tickets! The directions from Marco Polo are very confusing even though it is a single bus that takes you there. The buses don't have destination signs inside, so it was hard to find out where I was going. Eventually I just ended up calling a taxi cause I was lost. The address is correct though, and I guess if you know the bus system already that will help you. The hotel staff is very helpful. Communication was tough sometimes, but they were very helpful. Knowing Spanish actually helped communication a lot. One night we asked them where a nice restaurant was locally (Mestre) and the one they suggested was AMAZING. The only gripe I have is the bus directions. Otherwise, great hotel, especially for the price!

It's a good location to visit Venice at a low price. Next to the hotel is the bus stop to go to Venice. There is nothing to see around the hotel but it's just a place to sleep before going to Venice. And if you have a car, there is a free parking lot. The staff is nice and helpfull if you have any questions.

The breakfast is not provided. The motorways is too close. In room 2 the control of air conditioning is not working To go to Venice take the Nr. 6 bus

El hotel mas guarro en el que he estado de toda mi vida. Que te aparezcan bichos en estas habitaciones no es extraño. Debverían hacer una reforma completa, xq si el hotel tiene 100 años, no lo han reformado desde entonces, y entonces lo hicieron muy mal. El aire acondicionado no funciona.¡¡¡Con lo bonito que está Venecia!!! El personal amable y vacilón. Desayuno correcto (pero sólo eso, correcto). El autobús a Venecia está a 50 metros.

Hotel could use some updating/refinishing, otherwise a comfortable stay, easy to get into Venice on the Nr. 6 bus
