It is difficult to rate a hotel like this charming one with numbers. It lies near the river and most of the rooms are quiet. The master of the staff was - while appearing a liitle bit on the taciturn side - extremely helpful. Yes, the furnishing has seen better days, but it has atmosphere. Me and my wife, we liket this hotel very much and enjoyed our stay. And, btw: try the dinner!

Food excellent. Hotel is a house with character and flair, very cosy. It has a nice garden. The parking-area is a little bit close, but o.k. so far.

It could be suggesteable to renew the furniture and the items of the public areas (particularly the carpets) and, moreover,to refresh the building. However, overtook the first glance, our stay was quite pleasant.

Very sweet European style family run hotel. Excellent location, between railway station and town, though a bit difficult to find at first. The town is lovely, the spa services are good. No internet, however, in the hotel. Good dinner; the staff was very friendly about meeting the needs of a vegetarian.

Good quiet location, next to river & set in attractive gardens, close to railway/bus station & centre of town. Single room clean & spacious, showerroom ditto, balcony with glorious mountain view. Excellent half-board option, personal service from Herr Strohmer, who is a bit of a character, and his staff. Not the place for you if. e.g. high speed internet is essential, or a plasma screen TV, but I found it excellent value.

There was a person at the reception desk not so kind. I work as a receptionist (hotel in Venice) and we are better than this. The hotel was very nice and the room was wonderful.

The hotel location on the riverwalk is pleasant, although many rooms face back to other buildings and the parking lot. It is an older facility much in need of attention, to bring it back from its faded existence to its former elegance.

The Hotel has large rooms and is located in a nice park directly in front of the river - nice! But the Hotel is also a little bit run down. A real deduction is the fust, when you enter the door - the public rooms are not really in a good conditon and are not cleaned well.

This was our first trip to Meran (my wife's ancestral home). We were fortunate to have selected the Westend Hotel for our nine days there. The accomdations were excellent and the staff courteous and helpful. The meals taken there were well planned and executed. It was, overall, an excellent experience and we plan to stay at the Westend on our next trip to what must be one of the best kept secrets in travel - Meran! -Bill and Mimi (Arquin) Stanford

We loved this hotel. The room was large and had a great terrace with small table and chairs. The sound of the river, which is just across the promenade, was very soothing to listen to from our room. Bathroom was large and had shower with dual shower heads and option for massage-very relaxing. The breakfast was also among the best-fresh fruit salad, breads, apple strudel and lots more. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

One of the most charming hotels I've stayed in. Great location. The sound of the mountain stream outside our window all night lulled us into a soothing sleep. The double was spacious. The single was small with little air circulation.
