Our villa is located in Meran in the residential area known as Maia Alta, or Obermais, in a sunny and very quiet part of town, surrounded by orchards, vineyards and parks, with a lovely view to the mountains in all directions.
It is only a fifteen-minute walk to the center of town.
In the lovely hotel park you will find a seasonally heated swimming pool with special resistance swimming flows, large, sunny grassy lawns and an inviting terrace.

General map
The walks, hikes, strolls along dikes or tours of alpine huts, some of which start directly from our hotel, are inviting for old and young alike. We especially recommend the Maiser Waalweg, which starts almost directly from our door. From here you can explore the entire Passeier valley all the way to St. Leonhard, on foot or on the new bicycling path and without any particular dips or hills.
The many cable lifts - Meran 2000, Hochmut, Hirzer, Vigiljoch, Vöran – will bring you very quickly up to 2.300 m above sea level to popular hiking and touring areas.
For a cultural touch, there are the numerous castles in the area: Labers, Planta, Rametz (wine tasting), Gojen, Fragsburg and others. Another sight worth seeing close by are the newly opened botanical gardens of Castle Trauttmansdorff: one of the most beautiful green areas in Europe.
Visit the museums of South Tyrol, the Archeological Museum with the world-renowned Man from the Ice or the Archeopark in Schnals.

Unfriedly welcome, single rooms do not have a balcony or terrace as it is said in the description. Hotel is in urgent need of renovation! Single rooms are very small. Very poor price/quality relationship, there are lots of better hotel options in Merano. Avoid Villa Irene at all costs!

Excellent place for spending some days in Merano : confortable, quiet, large swimming pool, beautiful garden and very pleased welcome. Possibility to reach the center of Merano by foot. Beautiful surrounding place : old trees, wine yards and high mountains.

Property was adequate. Hostess and staff was unable to speak any English at all but they were pleasant. A few key phrases in German will help you. Breakfast was supposed to be include but it cost extra. We did not bother with it-was only marmalade, biscuits, granola and juice. Towels were like dishtowels, no shower curtain...bring your own toiletries. No housekeeping services except garbage pick-up. No TV. Walk to downtown Merano was about 25 min. but may be difficult for some on the way back up the hill.

The only staff we had the chance to see was an extremely rude lady (probably the owner of the place) who made us feel quite unwanted throughout our stay from the very moment we showed up. The rooms are very basic (ONE small bar of soap and worn-out towels are all you get, as well as a malfunctioning shower and a quite dark room). The place should rate no more than 2 stars: to rate the place 3 stars is a joke! Breakfast was poor and left us hungry. The place is quite far away from the centre (about 30 minutes walk uphill). Other guests who were there at the same time as us complained about the treatment they received. Overall, a very disappointing if not upsetting experience: whoever is looking for a welcoming and comfortable place, are warmly advised to look elsewhere.

If u don`t mind some walking up the hill from the center of the city, u will find a quiet and spacious room with a balcony overlooking a marvelous garden with a pool and the mountain panorama. We felt like in a paradise. The breakfast in the garden completes it. The next choice of restaurants is in a reach of 7 min walk at Brunnenplatz.

I booked the double room but received a large apartment under the roof with a poor bath facility and no TV service. The hotel does not accept credit card ! Considering the overall stay the price of € 85,00 per night should be lower.

Un lugar agradable, cuidado, con jardín y piscina,la decoración al más puro estilo tirolés,un encanto de hotel!

A quiet location. A 20 min. walk into town or a bus, but they stopped running at about 7.30pm!! A clean and modest pension with pleasant pool. However breakfast was a very basic affair and a rather "tight" approach. The room towels were no better than tea towels - and i'm not joking. On discovering Merano and surrounding villages there were numerous similar and better quality accomodation places which were available at a lower price and offered better value.

Surprised to find that while we were still in Italy, nobody spoke Italian! Also they could find no record of our booking, but as they had space we could stay anyway, bit of a worry and would make me nervous of using your website again.

Ambienti anni '70. Buona pulizia e silenziosità. No custode notturno. Riscaldamenti non adeguati.

Although a little bit run-down , a good and quite cheap place to stay.
