Europa Splendid is just a short walk to the concert hall and the spectacular thermal baths. The hotel offers a 10 percent discount to the baths which I forgot to use, but it was no huge loss at 17 Euros for the whole day. The hotel's breakfast was good but somewhat simple: cereals, rolls & bread, meats & cheeses, and hard boiled eggs. A nice surprise was the large terrace with a view of much of the valley. I enjoyed having a picnic lunch out there. The weather was also a bit surprising so bring your umbrella. Very popular area for hiking & biking; gorgeous surroundings.

Very clean, quiet and kind welcoming. They upgraded my room without asking and without charging. Breakfast good but not as rich as in other hotels in area. We really enjoyed our night.

From the room description it looked like we got a higher category room that what we payed for - therefore the price/quality was excellent. Not sure how it would have been otherwise. Regarding employees, while the receptionist was excellent the waiter at breakfast not so ... An open WiFi was available - not sure whether it belonged to the hotel though.

We like to come back. We made a reservation for 1 night and we stayed 2 nights ! We rent a garagebox and so we had no problems and enjoy the life in centre Merano.

By carFrom the highway, take the Merano nord exit, turn right and go straight, following the indications to Merano. At the second traffic light, take a right and proceed straight ahead, past the train station, until the roundabout. Drive into the roundabout and, halfway round, turn into Freiheitsstraße. Proceed for about 400 metres until Theaterplatz, where the hotel is located.

Merano train station is only 500 metres from the hotel.

From Bozen airport, take the airport shuttle bus to Merano central station.
