Lovely Hotel in stunning, well kept surroundings. The view from the hotel and from our room was breathtaking. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel very easy to locate with good parking facilities - rooms very spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent - alas, the coffee was not!! Overall I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again

We only stayed 2nights out of a planned 7 as the weather forecast was not good and we decided to move on somewhere where the weather was better. I was disappointed with the welcome on arrival and with the poor service in the hotel dining room. Also, although we knew the hotel was over a km out of town we did not know it was up a huge steep hill which wasn't practical to walk up. The bus service mentioned finishes at 7.40 pm so it is impossible to go into town for dinner unless you take the car (we were on motorbikes which wasn't ideal for dressing up for a nice dinner). This means you are trapped in the hotel for dinner with the extremely slow service mentioned earlier. If I was travelling by car I would use this hotel again but not on motorbikes.

Nice hotel in mountains. Friendly personnel, but hardly speak English (very good in German, what is normal for Sud Tirol). Sufficient German-style breakfast. Good indoor pool (very hot inside)+outdoor pool. Good a-la carte diners at reasonable price. Quite far away from Merano center - a car or public bus is needed (a stop in 100 m).

Room small and basic, noise from road and issue. However, atmosphere and welcome in hotel more than compensate - breakfast good. Prime example of you get what you pay for.

Eremita-Einsiedler is in a great spot with a big view over Merano and to the mountains beyond. When we made our reservation we mistakenly assumed all rooms had this view. When we checked in we were given a room at the back of the hotel, still with a nice view but not what we had expected. When we asked if we could change we were told the hotel was full. This was annoying as we had made our booking early August and we appeared to be the first guests to check in. Despite this we enjoyed our stay. There are nice walking trails, its a short walk (or drive) to the Merano 2000 cable car. We rode this and its a great thing to do. We had an excellent lunch and breakfast at the Eremita and one member of staff in particular (she has a relative in Melbourne) was really helpful and friendly.

This is very strange place to stay in Merano. It is way out of town. We only had a one-night stay, so it is really not fair to judge. We may have loved it if we had a few days to explore the area. When we checked in, nothing was said to us about the facilities which we discovered the next day include an indoor swimming pool. We never saw this pool. Very little effort was made to speak English to us, and there was not one tourist brochure in the lobby that was in English. We did enjoy Merano, with the help of the official Tourist Office. Beautiful city with lots of walking and lots of nice restaurants.

Outstanding location overlooking the valley, just a short distance from town centre and close to Meran 2000 cable car. Rooms with balconies and both indoor & outdoor pools. Great breakfasts. Clean modern rooms, although quads a little cramped. Highly recommended.

Warm, welcoming, helpful staff in a beautiful location on the mountainside near the funicular base and many walking paths. The room was just big enough and beautifully kept.

Fantastic place - helps if you can speak German (even a little). Have a wander over the bridge and beyond to the MetznerKeller - a proper tiny Germanic beerkeller!

The rooms were quiet, big and clean, the team helping and caring. The room was quite cold, but all the rest was good. The food (breakfast and dinner) good and not too expansive. The hotel is located some kms from Merano, but the area is very calm.

Very friendly and helpfull staff. View from room balcony looking down into Merano was outstanding. The best breakfast we had during our entire trip to Italy. Breakfast was included with room price. Would recommend this hotel if you are looking for quiet seclusion.

This hotel was very nice, although the day we went it was cold and wet so we didn't get to use the pool. The rooms were very nice, large & clean. The only problem we had was a small language barrier, only one person spoke Engish but we got by, so do not let it stop you from staying at this lovely secluded hotel. NB The food was fab and even when we arrived late and the restuarant was closed they still fed us! Thank you :o)

We had to change rooms as the first one was too smokey. That was no problem as they had other rooms free. The rooms were simple but clean. Breakfast was nice. Restaurant for evening dinners was with little atomsphere....

Quick - reserve now! The rooms are clean and simple and comfortable. The beds are firm and of quality make, same with the linens. The food is excellent. The hotel is just outside of Merano, so you'll have to drive just a few minutes into the city, park, then walk around. Beautiful!

Good hotel in a very nice and sunny place in the closest surroundings of Meran (higher than the city centre). Meran is full of various sorts of hotels (most of all equipped with sauna and swimming pool), but this one clearly overwhelmes the offer of other three-star ones.
