Hotel Princess et Richmond - Menton

The hotel has a perfect location on the sea front in walking distance to the centre of Menton. We paid extra for the sea view and it was worth it. The hotel offer to bring breakfast to your room/balcony, which we found a brilliant idea. We aren’t normally keen on the usual overpriced snack that is served as breakfast in many hotels, but this was worth the money for the location as well as the content and how it was served. The room is comfortable and surprisingly quiet given the proximity of the road. The balcony has quadruple glazing(!) and it works. You can only hear a slight noise from the most obstinate mopeds that go up and down the promenade. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They the commended a restaurant nearby, where the food was delicious.

It's too far to walk to the old town and the surroundings are dull apart from the sea view.

Delightful, quiet hotel on the seafront with friendly, intelligent, multilingual staff. The premises are beautifully maintained; fairly priced, delicious breakfast buffet. I will go back for sure following my one-week stay in early June 2010

(+) Sea view double room with suppl. bed on 4th floor, equipment is comfortable and in good condition. Beach and historic city center are within walking distance. Roof terrace is nice with great view on city and sea but has only 9 deck-chairs. (-) Located directly on beach road, noisy if windows not closed.

My wife and I enjoyed our our second stay at this hotel. The room was facing the Mountain on which St Agnes is situated. The old fort was clearly seen.

Return visit to Menton. First time at P+R Hotel. Too late to book sea facing room. Booked side facing room with part sea views. However hotel is built between two roads. Side rooms very noisy on balcony, but room quiet when double glazed balcony doors closed. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Good breakfast. Excellent meals at Galet Restaurant. Good location. Nice Airport bus stops close to hotel.

Friendly Hotel directly located at the beach. Therefore a bit loud at night (only when window open) when stormy sea. Breakfast nice and plenty.

Excellent water views. Close to bus stop for trips into Monacco and helpful staff.

Couldn't fault this hotel overall. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the room with a sea view most agreeable. If I had to make a negative comment the tightness of the parking spaces at the front of the hotel was a problem resulting in some minor damage to my car, and some drop curbs would be nice.

Breakfast was simple but very good and set us up for the day. The room was well presented with a large bathroom but was a little noisy as it was close to the road on the mountain side of the hotel. Menton went was a sleep by 23:30 so the traffic noise stop for the night so was not an issue.

Hi, This was a lovely hotel and great value. The service at the reception was extremely good. Its very close to a rocky/sandy beach. sandy in some spots to lie on and rocky to get into the water. It is at one end of the centre and the old town is at the other but the walk isnt far and is pleasant. I marked photographs low just because they dont indicate how much nicer the rooms look in real life than in the snaps. Very happy with it.

Although I speak three languages, French is not one of them. English is well understood and spoken at the hotel and its restaurant. The hotel's restaurant is adjacent. It is cozy and the food and service are very good. This is a family run facility and the son who runs the restaurant was as nice and helpful as anyone can be. Thank you very much.

Great hotel, good location, family run with very friendly, helpful staff - excellent English spoken. Our double ensuite room with balcony overlooking the Med (across a busy road but with two double glazed sliding doors cut out any night time noise) was very clean & comfortable. Good breakfast buffet served in a rather small area inside but there is also seating on an outdoor terrace (protected from the elements but a bit too cold during our stay in February). The new hotel restaurant just opened next door served great food - service was very slow but the quality of the food compensated. Also found to be a bit pricier than one or two other restaurants we tried in Menton but worth it. Hotel also has fitness centre (not used). Would recommend this hotel.

Plus: Near the sea (first line), big gratis parking, close to railway station, 10 minutes walk from center, very welcoming staff, good climatisation, clean rooms, beach towels 24h. Weakness: between too busy roads - we always close windows because of noise and smell of gazoline and too obvios.

Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated large room for France, beautiful view of Mediterrean Sea, a littel road noise but mostly drowned out by noise of waves crashing on the rocky beach and little noise after 10:00 pm. Location was good, attractions and restaurants within walking distance. Excellent price for sea view.

We cannot fault the Hotel in any way! Our holiday was all we could have wished, and we have decided we shall certainly stay there again.

Excellent hotel although rooms are not that soundproof. Sun terrace and jacuzzi is a must to take advantage of the fabulous weather.
