Hotel Moderne - Menton

Very good two star hotel conveniently situated breakfast was poor we enjoyed our stay

Sept. 26 we arrived by train from Florence en route to Avignon. One night stay, one double bed, AC and full bathroom. Access from train was 10 min. walk. Nice public beach straight out door max. 10 min walk and your in the Med.. Location is a bit west of center but handy to train station and Menton is not that big once you have gotten rid of your luggage. We will stay here again.

This was my third visit to Menton, and the second stay at the Hotel Moderne. Rooms are always very clean and staff is very helpful. I think that for the price you pay you get very good value for money. Hotel is also located very near the city centre (10 minute walk) and only 2 minutes to the "Promenade du soleil" Will go there again on my next visit to Menton.

Have stayed on four occasions now and the same pleasant staff still work there - always a good sign. Great location for rail and bus links from Nice, and close to the beach. Rooms are basic but linen is clean and changed regularly. Good continental breakfast.

Room was a bit smelly and traffic noise is bad, but had balcony and ideally located between beach and train station. staff were very helpful

Not Bad for that price

The hotel met my expectations. The location was perfect. We could walk to the train station and anywhere else we wanted to go. I would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.

Excellent hotel in quiet location but handy to all facilities.

The room we stayed was very clean and probably renewed in the recent years.The housekeeping I would say is efficient.Considering the warm climate of the town Menton, supplying a refrigerator to the rooms will be an asset.Nevertheless we appreciated our stay in the hotel and consider recommendable.

This hotel is very good value for money. I will use it again if I am staying overnight in Menton

The only problem we met was that the reception had no record of our booking - despite the fact that we had received email confirmation. Luckily, there were still rooms available, but it gave a bad starting impression

Good location, 5 minute walk to train station, 1 minute to a bus stop and 2 minutes to the beach. We had a great room , 69, with partial view of the Med from our balcony. Room was very large and clean, but the furnishings were old, 1960's or 1970's. It was good value for the money. I'd stay there again if I couldn't find a 3 star hotel or one directly on the beach for around the same cost.

A pleasant hotel with helpful and friendly staff, suitable for couples without children.

An honest hotel which provides good quality at a reasonable price.

Very simple hotel in a noisy environment. To recommend to those who need neither sleep nor breakfast.

All that you expect from a hotel here is. Certainly Modern isn't a luxury hotel but if you want the best value you can stay well. Every time we'll be in Mentone be sure that we stay at Modern Hotel and we suggest it to our friends

Dear Management, everything was good but the noise was terrible. Especially in the mornings it was impossile to have quiet because of cars! PL

Good, clean 2* hotel in a great location. Minutes from both railway and bus stations, two blocks from the beach, and five minutes from the lively town centre. We had a corner twin room which was spacious,but perhaps slightly lacking in storage/hanging space.

We arrived at the hotel just before ten in the morning and were given a room without waiting. The staff were friendly and service minded and could understand my not so good french, but could fill in with a very acceptable English. During the day the noise from the traffic in the street below was obvious but the double doors closed out most of the sounds. I think that the main piece of furniture in a hotel room is the bed and this was the weakest link at the Hotel Moderne. The hotel was within easy walking distance to all parts of the town of Menton and can most definately be recommended.

The hotel is located very close to the railway station and bus station. Its situated in a quiet side street but isn't too far from the bustling centre of Menton.
