Hôtel Club Vacanciel Menton - Menton

The hotel is very well situated in the centre of Menton, and has lovely grounds, in the form of a garden. This is one of the hotel's best features. It also has a spacious terrace where breakfast (a generous buffet) is served (temperature permitting). If there were drawbacks for us, it was the nearness of a railway line at the back of the hotel (although any noise was fleeting and not too intrusive) and the smallness of the room (although this is typical of French hotels of this star-rating). Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel.

The receptionist, a young Englishman was extremely welcoming and helpful, as were othere refception staff. We did not eat in the Hitel so cannot comment on that. The grounds are excellent and the Hotel is very central. The only drawback to the bedroom was that there no fridge in the room, otherwise it was as we had requested, quiet with a lovely view of the grounds. We enjoyed our stay at Vacanciel.

We experienced some "shortage" concerning breakfast. After nine- half past nine o'clock in the morning it often happened that for example juice, coffee, bread etc. wasn't sufficently refilled.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed. No meals taken in the hotel. I had my brekfast in a bar close by which was much cheaper than the €10 charged at hotel. My single room was very small. On previous stays, the hotel, when I checked in, offered me a double room which was, on both occasions, extremely spacious and comfortable; so I was a bit disappointed this time. The one small bar of soap provided in the bathroom was, I thought, extremely mean (I have stayed in many hotels in my time by the way) No other toiletries offered!!!! No mini bar!!!!! The public areas of the hotel itself are very spacious, quiet and comfortable. The gardens at the front of the hotel are really first class. Location is very convenient for all the central parts of Menton. Despite the one or two negative points which I have expressed, I would say that this hotel would be my first choice should I visit (hopefully) Menton again.

We were very impressed with the grandeur of the hotel and grounds and its location close to the port, restaurants and pedestrianised old part of Menton. Parking facilities were excellent which was essential for our type of holiday and wonderful buffet breakfast. This is our first experience of Vacanciel and would certainly consider one of their hotels again.

Beautiful hotel recently refurbished to a very high standard,in an excellent location and very reasonably priced. Vacanciel seems to be the French equivalent of Saga which we do not feel the need of yet. Apart from the bar closing at about 9.30 we had no complaints. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants if you don't want to eat in the hotel.
