Hôtel loin de tout si vous êtes sans moyen de locomotion, la seule qualité de cet hôtel est son calme. La clientèle est surtout étrangère: belges, hollandais, anglais.

We reserved 3 nights on a standard room which are close to the garden. The welcoming was terrible, our rooms were not ready at 4 PM (check-in at 3), but most important, the room was not clean, the bathroom was about 50 years old, and the first night we slept with thousand of ants. The hotel is quite far from the center of Marseille, and buses are rare. The next day, we complained and we couldn't cancel anything as supposedly we reserved through Venere, the receptionnist wasn't very helpful. The boss came and put us in a superior room for the next 2 nights. Those rooms are fantastic and it was like being in another hotel fully renovated (separate builing). I advice Venere to go visit the standard rooms and review their comments regarding the New Hotel Bompard in Marseille.

The hotel is difficult to find, and even with a GPS, an adventure for this traveler from Oklahoma. Those who don't have a GPS might consider using the online directions to plot the route on a detailed street map. The room was newly remodeled, attractive and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The staff's suggestions on restaurants off the tourist's circuit saved us a lot of money, and the food was quite good.

We stayed here for 3 days in early September 2008 and absolutely loved it - so much so that we can't wait to go back again in 2009! The location may not be to everyones taste as it's around a half hours hike from the city centre (old port) on foot, and is set quite high up into the hillside (there are quite a few buses though). But it is peace and tranquility itself - the grounds and setting are stunning, the pool area is great, the quaint streets around the hotel are lovely and the amazing coast line, views, beach and la cornich are 10 minutes walk away. The hotel itself was great too: spacious and very modern decor, wood floors and tables and chairs outside on the patio area. Overall, a REALLY great place to stay and strongly recommended.

You can find the hotel after going up, up and up many hills so forget the idea of going out for a nice walk although is good for practising jogging! The room is quite big, but very, very dark, smelly and not very clean. The common areas are nice, though, specially in spring/summer but I think they should give more importance to the guestrooms. It is located in a residential area, miles away from the city centre and you can only find around houses and empty streets: no restaurantes, pubs, shops or anything tourists look for

The hotel was in a residential area and was initially difficult to find using the instructions. It would have been easy, however, if there had been detailed directions using landmarks off the Corniche President Kennedy. Hotel quietly located and a nice surprise - a litle oasis and ideal for short break with car - good value for money and walkable to centre of Marseilles though you may want a taxi back. Only criticism is that we found the restaurant staff unwelcoming and so didn't eat there on our one evening there. Advice - keep all your car doors locked when driving in the City at night!

Nice place to stay with a baby, quiet and comfortable rooms, with a garden and a swimingpool. The only problem was the accession to the city. The streets are step and narrow, and there is almost no place to go with a baby-car except in the middle of the road.

I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with my wife. It is a nice and pleasant property with good parking facilities and not hard to find, because there are direction signs on the main streets. Not recommendable if you are not by car or taxi. You should ask for a renovated room. We got a standard room and it was not renovated. It was clean, but with old and very used furniture. The pictures in the web page are definitively not from the room where we have stayed. At the hotel, the personal told us that a renovated room would cost 50 EUR extra per night. I believe that, if all rooms are renovated, this hotel could get 4 stars and my review would be rated with an 8 instead of a 6. You don´t have sea view, and you can reach the beach in about 15 minutes walking downhill. The hotel stays at the top of a hill, so you will have to walk uphill when coming back to it.

Discovered this very charming and recommendable hotel through the internet. We stayed 4 nights and will witout any doubt visit this hotel again. Our standard room, (with separate bath and wc) were situated in a one-floor building near the pool area. Very nice surroundings! Excellent service from staff. Bus no 61 has a nearby stop, about 13 minutes ride to Vieux Port. Recommend 3 days travel pass, only 10 euro (bus, metro, tram).

Beautiful hotel. The desk clerk, Amr, was extraordinarily helpful with places to go and see and restaurant reservations. The hotel is like an oasis on top of a hill in Marseilles. Very private grounds, beautiful pool, lovely breakfast.

The hotel was great, but finding it was nearly impossible. The directions were not very clear and we finally had to ask someone on the street. This very kind soul let us follow up him to the hotel. Without his help we would still be driving around looking for it.

We were only in Marseille for about a day. The hotel was misleadingly not as close to the main ocean road as the maps indicated (long walk up steep roads/steps to get there), but once we arrived, it was worth the effort. The property was very nice, we were given a room upgrade, and it was very clean and modern. I can't say enough good things about this property, except that they we couldn't book another night, as they were full up. I recommend to anyone travelling sans auto to definitely take a cab - it is about 8-12 euros to the main areas of the city.

I stayed 1 day, 3rooms ( 2 double, 1 twin) in this hotel. (+) The room (standard double)was good. littlebit small but ok. The twin room was great. Especially the heating on the top of the bathroom was really convenient. Welcome desk lady was nice and kind. (-) In the bathtub, shower curtain and shower tip (hook for the shower) shold be needed. The location is quite far from city center. Hotel is located on the very top of hill, far from vieux port. The Lady in the store was very impolite and disobliging!!

The hotl is located at the topof a very steep hill. On turning off the main road the initial climb is akin to a rollercoaster. The drive is nervewrecking and walking it with luggage impossible.

Très déçus, l'hotel a un bon aspect exterieur mais la chambre que nous avons eu était mal insonorisée, vétuste,la salle de bain très petite et la salle de petit déjeuner trop petite pour le nombre de chambres.

This is a lovely hotel, out of the centre of Marseille but walkable into the port. It is a little oasis, with a beautiful courtyard garden and dining area, and a lovely pool. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel, very kind stuff. Newly renovated, clean and in a very quiet area. Parking is free. We haven' t taste the breakfast, as it was not included in the price. We would surely return to that hotel for sure. A young couple from Greece

If you know the City you will not expect a "lovely" surrounding. But once you have entered the the hotel's ground, you feel like in an oasis. The garden, the plants, the pool area, the terrace: simply wonderful. The rooms themselves vary a bit in size and furniture and are okay. For the price you cannot expect more, but the atmosphere of the whole terrain will make you forget minor faults of the rooms. The restaurant offers only a small variety of meals, but it is okay if you just want something fast within the premise. Usually you will use the restaurants nearer or farer. If you want a place of qiety with charms near the centre for a fair price, this hotel is a good choice.

I arrived following a 15-hour journey on my motorcycle and was in need of a bath and a hot meal. I was told I'd have to go straight to the restaurant if I wanted a meal. When I asked if I could first freshen up before dining I was told 'No, you must eat straight away.' Not possible as I was filthy after such a long journey. I then had to get a taxi in to Marseilles town to eat. I'm sure the restaurant could have stayed open an extra 15 minutes. VERY disapponted.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Marseille, away from the town centre, and the main road which was excellent. The staff were very friendly, spoke some English. They were also helpfull with regard to transport, beaches etc. Definately go back to relax around the pool.
