The hotel is in a good location to see many of the sites in Marseille. Simple and basic rooms, but when all you need is a place to sleep, this works perfectly. I would stay again.

It was quite awful. I would never stay there again. Location of hotel is very good and prices are quite reasonable. But! I have been moved into room, where a shower was in the very room(not even cabin, just enclosed area in the room), and a sink was exactly behind the TV. I felt that I live in a big bathroom. And there was strong smell of paints (because of total renovation of whole hotel, what I wasn't warned about). I changed my room next day, and it was better, but still there was smell of paints and in the morning I found a lot of things, metal sticks etc. and rubbish in the staircase, so I couldn't go downstairs in a normal way. And plus the toilet was only one in the staircase, and constantly workers did something around the door, so it was impossible to relax even in WC. Maybe after renovation the hotel will be OK, but I think they should inform clients about such kind of things.

The position of this hotel was pretty good but my room was pretty horrible... An awful smell in the room! The bed was comfy tho and for a short stay it's alright. Staff were pretty nice.

this place it's ok if you wan't to safe some money, but don't espect anything great. Just to let you know, ask for the highest quality in double room, if not, you will have to share the toilet. You won't have to pay too much and the rooms looked quite better. No room service in all the week. Bad smells from the shower. The bed wasn't really confortable. We had a good time, but because the city was great. The place is not really nice for the price you pay, but maybe in France everything is too expensive.

Sylvabelle was a complete surprise! It didn't look much from the outside, but the interior was absolutely delightful, from the sweeping staircase to the little anchors on the doors, to the bright and airy breakfast room. The staff were helpful - we asked for extra pillows and they had been placed in our room when we returned that day. Our room was comfortable, clean and quite spacious with a view onto the street below. It was only about a 10 minute walk to the old port with all its bars and restaurants, but far enough away for a quiet night's sleep, so it was an ideal location for us.

I stayed here with a friend and had a great time. The staff were really nice at reception, but housekeeping let it down a little. They left us 1 towel for 2 of us for 2 days..... thankfully reception gave us more whenever we asked. Housekeeping also refused to take out a bag of rubbish we had left in the room - strange!! Overall, great place to stay - 5 minute walk from the port - brilliant!

This hotel is lovely, with spatious windows. No air conditioning, and with the window open at night we were woken up many many times by cars, scooters, and people passing. When we got there the lady at reception said she was sorry but the hotel was overbooked so we had to stay the night at the worst hotel I have ever been in, let alone seen (6 foot ceilings, tiny window, the bathroom was completely covered in mold, dirty). To make it up to us they provided four nights of free breakfast, and upgraded our room. I would recommend it in fall, winter or spring...summer I would try to find somewhere with an air-conditioner, or quieter surroundings.

This hotel was scary and creepy. We had planned to stay again on our way back past Marseille later in the week and cancelled due to the hotel. The parking was impossible as there was a tiny spot available on the street that was on a steep hill. The man at the desk told us if nothing was open on the street we were out of luck. We would never stay there again no matter how inexpensive.

It is a very old hotel, the floor was creacking every time someone walked at the corridor, we had no toilet in the room, only a shower, even though at the site this is not stated clearly enough( we had two options, that were not explained). The price was too high for the overall quality of the hotel. Also it is not situated in a central road and the neighborhood is a little bit spooky at night.

The Internet was not properly working. They did not have an invoice stub, and could not print one due to a major power failure. I therefore had to wait so that they can send it to me by email.

the hotel didn't take the reservation and told us that they had sent me 2 emails to let me know that they could not take our reservation... but i never actually received these emails, even in my spambox, so we were really in a bad position without any place to sleep.
