el hotel feo. las habitaciones mal decoradas. el bano aunque esta remodelado y es lo unico aceptable, no funciona bien: el lavamanos tapado, la ducha no salia bien... ademas el aire acondicionado no enfriaba nada y los enchufes hacian corto circuito al conectar cualquier cosa.

The hotel is located just off Le Cannabiere -- the main street to the old port which is in walking distance. Marseilles is a a cosmopolitan port and the hotel area is mildly intimidating to walk about after dark. The hotel has no lift -- even for the young and fit a fourth floor room is quite a challenge. The room was under a sloping ceiling, and the double bed could only be accessed from one side. On the plus side, it was very quiet. We enjoyed the boat trip to If and Frioul -- islands in the bay. It was hard for us to find a good bouillebaisse.

the staff was very friendly and helpfull. We stayed only 1 day in Marseille,so basically for 1 day this hotel of 2 stars was ok. We did not spent much time in the hotel.. the location was pretty good... In a quiet part of the town, however thought that it is gonna be closer to the center city/ vieux port... In general nothing to vcomplain about, except the internett which worked only in the public area. To be a 2 star hotel I found it good, regarding the facilities they were offering. Flat LCD and free wireless access.. and yes, regarding the parking, it was not included as it was specified in the reservation.

My husband and I had great difficulty finding this hotel. Rather than having a room in the hotel we were put in a room in the adjacent building. The stairway in this building was dark and dirty. The hotel and the surrounding area felt very unsafe.

How to reach Hotel Azur

By car
From Highway A7: exit at Gare Saint-Charles and follow road signs to Saint-Charles. Proceed on Avenue du Général Leclerc, then Boulevard Maurice Bourdet, Place des Marseillaises, Boulevard d'Athènes and Allées Léon Gambetta. Turn left onto Allée de Meilhan/La Canebière, then right into Cours Franklin Roosevelt, where the hotel lies at number 24.

By train
From Saint-Charles Station: Take underground line M1, direction La Rose, and get off at Les Réformés station.

By airplane
Marseilles Provence International Airport is 30 km (18.64 miles) from the hotel. A shuttle service to Marseilles bus terminal (next to Saint-Charles railway station) runs every 20 minutes. Travel time: about 25 minutes.
