Grand Tonic Hotel Marseille Vieux Port - Marseille

This is not a 4 star hotel 2 at the most. Room was too dark to read a book or newspaper. TV did not work at times. Room was very clean, staff friendly and good location.

It's a perfect hotel to stay for a few nights. Right at the corner of the Old Port with plenty of restaurants and cafes around. I honestly reccomend.

Good hotel, a little old (dirty carpets) and with some reforms needed, but overall a nice place to stay near best touristic options and public tranport alternatives. The fare reflects the site. Room was ok.

While the location was excellent (right on the harbor, one block from Metro, good restaurants, two blocks from the mini-train tour base), late night party-goers brought some unwelcome noise. The lobby's a bit spartan (almost non-existent!), but the room was fine and the staff very helpful and spoke excellent english.

Great hotel in fantastic location, close to bank, money exchange, post office, shops, bars and restaurant. Right oposite port where the fishermen sell their fish and the growers their flowers each morning. Tour boats leave on trips down the Calanque coast to Cassis or out to the Islands, took both, very good value and fantastic sightseeing. Also the 'Grande Tour' bus leaves frequently from the quayside for it's city tour, very worthwhile. In addition two mini-trains go in oposite directions, one for a tour of the old Marseilles, the other to the top of the hill to the cathedral, six euros each, DON'T MISS !!! Lovely room on 4th. floor front with the best bathroom jacuzzi tub and rainshower. First class breakfast BUT...inatentive service at SIXTEEN EUROS each!

Location is good..and the hotel environment is very nice..

Our stay was superb! Perfect hotel, perfect position. Booking the room I didn't even think that we will remain so pleased. As usually we see on the sites lots of false or "not-enough-correct" information. In case with Tonic Hotel everything was true... or even better. Marvellous cosy modern comfortable room, professional staff ready to give information needed, nice position in front of the port, metro station, stop of city-tour bus, lots of restaurants and cafe. If and when we will come back to Marseille - we won't even have to think where to stay. I wish there were more hotels like Tonic.

Its a perfectly located hotel at the old harbour of Marseille, with lots of shops, restaurants and night life, the rooms offer any comfort and are quiet. I enjoyed my stay very much.

The hotel has an excellent location to discover the city. Wholly renowated rooms and spacious bathroom were impressive. There was some noise from the surrounding early in the morning, but I admit this is normal because of central location. Marseilles deserves a visit even for the food..

Nice rooms, nice design. Very poor the care of the reception area (used as a storage room!!!) and an awful smell coming from near mac donald starting from the stairs. Terrible in the morning!! Real pity, because great location and very nice rooms for a fair price.

Excellent quality accommodation. Very clean, very modern, new rooms. Brilliant location. Great views if you get a room with a view of the port. Not sure which room typr we had - there are superior and prestige, but ours was excellent.

Only one negative point: internet access facilities via a 4€ minimum card...I am used to hotels providing that facility for free !

A reasonably good hotel in a good location. It's pricier for that reason. There really is nothing to complain, except for the fact that the place seems to try to present itself better than it is.
