Hotel Country House Relais Baglio Donna Franca - Marsala

We cann´t find it soon but then we were surprised. It´s wonderful. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurent. Everything was quiet good. Thanks to this staff.

Traveling instructions were not the best. No mention was made of the small villiage name of Granatello, where the property is and to get to 115 was confusing.

Really beautiful complex of old buildings recently renovated; hotel itself is very beautiful - but views of sunset have to be seen to be believed; pool in super location; lovely restaurant and really nice staff;

Over all we enjoyed our stay however we found Baglio Donna Franca a little odd, a sort of oasis located on the top of a hill in a fairly run down semi-rural area with vineyards and small villages off the road between Birgi Airport and Marsala. It was very quiet with a restaurant which was had an oppressive atmosphere althouth the food was good, but pricey. We feel the advertising about the services and facilities was a little misleading. For example, we were disappointed to realise that the airport pick up was not included in the price and thought the €30 per trip (in a private car) to the airport was too expensive. Also when we enquired about the beach we were directed to the lidos in Marsala not the private beach mentioned on the website.

Arrived after 9pm. Met at the Airport by very welcoming hotel representative and directed back to the Hotel. Would have been hard to find it by myself in the dark. Lovely food but keep away from the dreadful meat courses, mussel soup particularly fabulous. Lovely setting to wake up to, friendly staff around to look after you, I would definitly stay here for a few days on my next visit.

Very nice building renovated with taste and high quality materials and equipment. Convenient location, excellent view on the coast line, very calm. Very attractive price/quality ratio. TV with wide selection of programs. Very comfortable restaurant with superb food, including local specialities: our best dinner in two weeks around Sicily! Interesting wine tasting offered for free.

If ever we return to Sicily, we are staying here. The hosts were gracious and spoke English well and helped us with everything we needed - even went so far as to book a ferry back to Naples for us. The grounds were gorgeous and the room sumptuous. Staying here made for a very relaxing vacation and made Sicily one of the most enjoyable parts of our tour of Italy.

The only thing wrong with our stay here was that it was too short - this was a beautiful, out of the way property - with an extremely helpful staff - lovely rooms, beautiful grounds, nice restaurant -
