Hotel Domus Caesari - Marino

It is better if there is hotel's shuttle bus to Roma.

I really like this hotel. I have read several people complaining about the manner of the staff, but I found them to be very polite and helpful. They are quite formal and professional in manner, in keeping with the style of the hotel, and this might be misunderstood as rudeness, but it really isn't. The hotel has a restaurant. I didn't try it as I used the hotel as a base to visit friends in nearby Marino, but it certainly looks appealing. It is also a formal rather than casual affair, you get the idea. The train station is nearby making a visit to Rome possible, but my advice if you have been in Rome before is to use the Domus Caesari as a base to explore some of the nearby towns/villages including Marino, which has many fine restaurants. Nemi is only a short distance away, it is the location of the temple of Diana, the home of strawberries and also well worth a visit. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Domus Caesari and I will be returning.

The hotel looked very nice but there was hardly anyone there, only saw two other guests but still had an hour to wait until our room was ready, very strange

Excellent accomodation, poor service: there were 2 weddings going on and we were like air in the building, for example after having ordered an aperitivo with snack we had to wait more than 5 minutes, no snack, asked for it, again 5 minutes the man at the reception spoke very poor english for a 4 star-rated hotel, luckily I speak a little italian

Unfortunately we arrived quite late at the hotel and were not able to spend a lot of time enjoying the scenery which was fabulous. We had the tourist meal at the hotel and would not recommend it. It was not good. The soundproofing of the rooms is very bad. We could hear everything from the room next door. Other than that the one night stay was very satisfactory. We found it quite difficult to find.

We were disappointed to have to take a room for the disabled when it was clear the hotel was almost empty. There was no hot water until about 9pm and then it was only warm. There are instructions that it is strictly forbidden to use any electrical appliance such as irons or kettles and that any such usage can be monitored. The hotel is immaculately clean and the rooms have a fridge however there are instructions that you cannot use the fridge for any of your own items. Hotel located well for exploration of Castelli Romani or Ciampino.

Hotel is beautiful. Rooms also. Hotel is not really near anything(ie. the town or lake). Staff not able to recommend any nearby restaurants. Hotel restaurant was closed at lunch. Got lost finding hotel--directions need to be provided for arriving from different starting points, not just Rome. But, overall, a great deal for the money.

Good hotel. Great value for money (49 Euro). We used this hotel as gateway to our trip in south italy since we land late evening and didn't want to travel a long distance. If you think about using this hotel to visit Rome, forget it. It's far away.
