The only downside is the loadness of the water system. e.g. flush loo or bath filling

The room was nice. We had two seperate bedrooms for our triple room. You would definately need a car to get around this area. There was a nice area one exit up with eating options down by the marina and beach with bar and food.

Easily accesible by car. Parking available right in front of hotel. Quiet area. I would return.

Faulty Towers! No greeting on arrival,keys thrown on desk we had to ask where our room was, a finger pointed in the direction of the stairs,it took ages to find our room.Absolutely no way of getting a cup of coffee/tea or a drink at all.Just no facilities at all, on speaking with other residents who were equally discusted at not being able to get a cold glass of beer/wine etc., water machine on the landing with plastic cups. We had to ask what time breakfast was served, no communication whatsoever from the front of house staff. Lovely pool area and pool, just no drinks!! so you can sunbathe but dehydrate in the meantime.It had a nice golf course, but I think only the locals used it. We found out from friends of ours who live nearby, that they thought the hotel was being sold and was being run down. so perhaps that could be why the staff were not very helpful. Basic continental breakfast. Would only stay here again if it was really cheap!!

The owner is INCOMPETENT. I went to ask for a map of where we are, and he gave me a Marbella map. So I went back to my room and looked at it forever and couldn't figure out where the hell Hotel Artola was. When I went back down to ask him, he informed me that his hotel was not on that map, and he didn't have a single map that could show me where this hotel existed. It is NOT in Marbella either, it's a 20 euro taxi ride there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Artola. It is a **great** little place - dated, but very clean and well kept. Pool is beautiful, and the free breakfast had a nice selection of meats, breads, cereal, etc. Our room was on the inside and small, but it was fine. Next time I will ask for a room on the south side with a view. Getting there is a little difficult the first time - you just have to get off at the Las Chapas exit going West, run thru **2** roundabouts, go back OVER the top of the N340, go around the roundabout on the south side, and get back on the N340. What isn't documented is that the "on" ramp runs parallel to the N340 for a ways, before you hit an "intersection", where you return back on going East. Then exit after just a small distance at the Hotel sign. We would DEFINITELY return to the Hotel Artola - we loved it. (also, it's a long walk to the beach so drive there instead - there is free parking and a restaurant as well). Local GREAT restaurants nearby (Cabopino exit): Despensa (marina), Da Brunos (N side of N340 on roundabout), and Albert's on the marina (our favorite).

How to reach Hotel Artola

By car
From Málaga, following the indications to Algeciras-Cádiz on the A-7, exit 214. Note that you do not have to take AP-7 turnpike. Once you reach the A-7, go past Fuengirola, Calahonda and Cabopino. Exit in Las Chapas, make a U-turn and go on towards Málaga. Get in the highway again and then take the right exit, located 300 metres further on.
