Stayed only one night but was very satisfied of the stay. The hotel is modern and very well presented, with spacious rooms in traditional style. The hotel, which seems to cater mainly for German groups, is located on the hills above Malia, with nice view on the coastline.

Malia is a very low interesting place to visit in Creete. Everywhere you can find very low quality bars and shops for english and deutch young people. Matheo is a very nice place to stay, even if the food is not traditional, breakfast is poor and just continental. Take care to be at dinner earlier, if not you won't eat the plate of the day. In the rooms there aren't bath facilities (no soap, no carpet..)

This is an excellent hotel and very well run. It is very modern, well appointed, nice and quiet - away from all ther noisy activities and nightlife of Malia. The owners and staff are very attentive, friendly and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
