We went to Italy for a family wedding and our stay at The piccolo just enhanced our family celebrations. The staff were wonderful, the rooms were comfortable and the views were outstanding. We will be going back!

A second visit to this well run family hotel confirmed our previous experience of good quality food and a staff who were genuinely helpful and attentive. We would recommend it. A slight minus is that a road runs between it and the lake.

We stayed in suite 3 and were delighted with the contemporary design of the rooms, especially the bathroom (spa bath) and separate shower room. The views from the living arera and bedroom over the lake were fabulous. The large balcony was ideal for an evening drink and soaking up the magnificent scenery. It is likely that in the summer months there would be a fair amount of noise from the road in front of the hotel. The food was reasonably priced and excellent, as were the staff.

Rude staff and poor services (air conditioning is turned on only when staff think it's hot enough and only from 17h to 24h). Shower cabin much too small for someone taller than 1m70 (and I am 1m90).

The hotel is about 3-4km from malcesine. You can get the bus there for around 3E for two people. A taxi costs 8E to Malcesine and as the last bus is at 7.30 which is when they serve dinner at the piccolo, a taxi is the only option. The room was quite spacious with a stunning view of the lake but the bathroom is tiny and the shower is unbearably small. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. There is a busy road to cross outside the hotel so be aware of this. We came here for a friends wedding and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would return but would stay closer to malcesine. There is lots to do and you must go on the cable car, the view of the lake is breathtaking. The ferry from malcesine goes all around the lake and costs 14E each for a day pass which is well worth it as Riva del Garda is beautiful!. Malcesine is quite cheap to eat and drink and the wine is cheaper than the beer and of good quality. Our friends got married in the castle and it was really romantic and picteresque, its quite popular for couples to get married here. Hope this info helps!! we also got the bus to Verona Airport which cost us 11E for the two of us. it takes two hours for the journey.

we arrived at 2350 pm and had a very warm welcome from a male member of staff. Next morning the husband and wife owners, again greeted us personally. The food was very good with a selection of fish chicken or meat each night.Pasta was excellent too.Staff always helpful.Infront of the hotel is a pleasant promenade where you can enjoy a lakeside walk.

I was given a room on the lakeside with a balcony, which it turns out to be a beautiful location. I loved the scenery from the balcony overlooking the lake, mountains and picturesque surroundings; it is truly a romantic scene. The room was spacious and clean with an effective A/C. The parking a bit tight at the entrance level since the hotel is located on a cliff overlooking the beautiful lake; however, there is a parking space on the roadside for the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful. Very friendly owner and his wife. I will go back anytime. I loved this place and I loved the town.

For the price the room was very good and the choice of food at both breakfast and dinner was very good indeed. The staff were pleasant and helpful and there was good parking. The hotel is well situated with excellent views onto Lake Garda. There is some traffic noise but it is not too intrusive. Altogether a very good base from which to explore the area. An excellent base for windsurfers, cyclist and walkers.

Good hotel with fantastic views across the lake from both the breakfast room and lakeview rooms. Its a bit outside malcesine and we took a taxi or drove in. Small beach near the hotel that would be good in the summer, it was a bit too chilly while we were there. Rooms are quite basic and the bathroom is small but the space in the rooms and the view makes up for it at this price.

Dass man mehrere Tage die selbe Serviette bekommt, fanden wir mehr als unhygienisch! Dann wären Papierservietten noch vorzuziehen. I hope you understand german... It is not hyganic to get the same napkins each day for a whole week. In this case they better prefer one-way papernapkins.
