Hotel La Chancla - Málaga

Spent 3 days at la Chancla in Malaga and it was just perfect! the hotel is situated in front of the beach, the rooms are cosy, big enough (we had apartment no 17 with two seperate rooms and one bathroom!) and clean. the staff was helpful from day one on and the whirlpool located on the upper terrace with a marvellous view towards the sea just made our evenings perfect! I would definately recommend this hotel to everybody as its quality-price value is absolutely perfect. although located quite far away from city centre, two public buses (11 and 34 leaving from the heart of Malaga) take around 15 minutes to arrive in Pedregalejo, from there its a 5min walk to the hotel! :)

It is really a bar with rooms but so much better than the costas. Returants, mainly for the locals, to suit all tastes in either direction. This was our second visit and we will no doubt be back. A 1.1€ bus ride to the city, if you need to go but why bother:-)

The hotel is right on the beach with great views of the ocean. If you're looking for 5-star, you won't find it here. However, for a brief 2-3 day stay at the Costa dl Sol in Malaga, it's adequate and gives you easy access to the local beaches. But be prepared, this is a noisy spot. The restaurants stay open until 3 AM and the rooms in this hotel are right above their restaurant. A nice aspect of the hotel--the rooftop has a beautiful garden and hot tub.

Great location if one likes the vibrant surroundings and atmosphere of a hotel + bar right on the boulevard. Our room was not in the hotel but in small apt-block, a few houses away. Great location too of the apt but the apt.block is rather noisy (running water, toilets, chairs moving).

This Hotel is clearly a very successful and popular bar with a hotel tacked on. The staff seemed very busy with the bar, and not to have much time for hotel guests! Noise from the bar was not a problem - just quiet conversation/laughter and the atmosphere seemed pleasant - but the bar staff moving heavy tables and chairs very noisily at about 3 in the morning (after the bar closed) was not very thoughtful! Also, the glossy brochures on display in the rooms just didn't reflect what we'd got in our booking through Venere - the staff didn't show us the facilities available (so we didn't get to use them) and some things offered as standard in the brochure (e.g. free water and fruit every day) just didn't happen for us. This said, the quality of the room and bathroom were fine - but it would have been nice if the staff had been a bit friendlier. Also - there were pigeons caged on the roof! That made me sad :(

We stayed in the Executive suite which is on the top floor with a patio which had a jacuzzi and sauna, which overlooks the sea. This was most enjoyable especially in the evening. We took lovely walks along the beach and enjoyed the night life at the resturants on either side of the Hotel.This small hotel has lovely character and is ideally situated just outside of the main town of Malaga.

This is a perfect location right on the beach but the hotel is more of a bar and night life is noisy. Rooms are good, ask especially for a room facing the sea as the price is high. A nice terrace for sunbathing when the wind is blowing.

Small hotel with character, right on the sea front. There is a roof garden with hot tub and sea views.The hotel has no other public areas, just the bar/cafe which is very popular with the locals. Despite this we had no problem with noise. Alsothe hotel is away from the main road so no traffice noise. Only critisism, breakfast choices very limited.

Very Helpfull and Friendly Staff, reception, housekeeping and Bar. Great Bathrooms Very nice view to the ocean. Small rooms but the view is a killer nice to have a full breakfast at your room and always water and a basket of fresh fruits in the room too Far away from Dowton but 1 euro with bus take you any place. If you like adventure and have the mood for relaxation and no high expectation ( 5 Star hotel ) this is the place!!!! go for it!!!

We stayed in Malaga for 3 days and had a wonderful time, however, it would be easier to communicate with the hotel staff if more of them spoke english.
