Villea Village is 1.5 hour drive away from Heraklion Airport, but it is quite close to the mountains, ideal for those who love trekking, and there is a number of fantastic beaches to choose from which make great destinations both for those who want to relax on a sun bed and those who enjoy snorkelling. Makrigialos main beach is a long sandy beach, with all nearby facilities to have all comforts at hand, and it is ideal for children, whilst Kalamokania beach where deeper waters offer better snorkelling opportunities. Within a 10 minute drive there is a number of deserted beaches, but gaining access to some of them is not very simple.
